Yan Qing didn’t go out shopping today. Fenfen also stayed home to rest.
Yan Qing focused on designing the courtyard.
Living deep in the mountains, the most important thing was the residence. So she carefully planned the layout of her house.
She wanted high walls on all four sides, with a large gate.
In the center, she planned a concave-shaped house.
On the left: a kitchen connected to a woodshed
On the right: a toilet and shower room
There would be both a front yard and a backyard, with the house in the middle.
To the left of the main gate: a chicken coop and duck pen
To the right of the main gate: two identical structures—unused ones could serve as woodsheds
The front yard would be used for planting flowers, plants, and fruit trees
The backyard would be divided with stone slabs into sections for growing vegetables
Yan Qing sketched and revised repeatedly, finally settling on a blueprint.
She wanted to build the house exactly as she envisioned.
But choosing the location was difficult—
First, there had to be convenient access to water.
Second, there needed to be conditions for bathing—preferably even a shower.
Then she remembered something from her childhood at her grandparents’ home—a black water storage bag.
In summer, after being heated by the sun, it could provide warm water. While it couldn’t regulate temperature, it could at least solve part of the problem.
She immediately ordered 200 of them online, requesting expedited delivery.
She also ordered:
Stone slabs
Red bricks
Hollow bricks
And other construction materials, along with custom-sized windows and a main gate.
She planned to reserve the proper spaces according to dimensions.
After finalizing everything needed for the house, Yan Qing placed orders one by one…
And then, tragically, she realized—
She had run out of money.
“Sigh…”
This was already the countless time Yan Qing had sighed.
Fenfen, who had just finished a phone call, came out and saw her like this.
“What’s wrong?”
Yan Qing gave a bitter smile. “I’m out of money. There’s still so much left to buy, and I’m already broke. The house hasn’t sold yet either. Where am I supposed to get more money?”
Because Yan Qing insisted on full payment upfront, the agent hadn’t managed to sell the house so far.
