#19- Hunting Grounds!
The Next few days were filled with the screams of doomed players, most of them from Victor's guild.
Me and Sasha eavesdropped from outside as Victor had the weaker players killed so that the stronger players could evolve.
Those who weren't in a guild laid ambushes and killed unsuspecting players to get their cores, some were sucessful, others were killed themselves, soon the town became less and less lively.
By the final day, the town felt like all the life was sucked out of it, The Blazing Talon Guild was completely wiped out due to in-fighting, the Azure Fang Guild was down to 6 members. Zak and Millie included, and the Steel Legion Guild was down to 7 members, Victor amoung them.
And the only players not in a guild was me and Sasha.
The two of us sat by the foutain, the silence almost eerie, then the System voice spoke.
Level 3 Complete!
Number of Evolved Players: 15
Non-Evolved Players: 0
That..made my stomach turn, out of the 25 player, 10 were killed...
As soon as the thought crossed my mind, the Evolution Spire crumbled to bits, it having served it's purpose.
The seccond it did, a larger tower rose from it, this was one was pure white and continued to rise until it reached the clouds.
The System spoke again, this time it felt more..human.
"Greetings everyone, to those of you that remain, i congratulate you, you are the first in you region to ever reach this point." she said.
My eyes widened, "there were others?" i thought.
"Yes, there were indeed others, but for some reason, they all killed each other by Level 3, you are the first group to have reached this point with more than 6 players." The system said, "Now, allow me to introduce myself, i am B.E.L.A, the Beast Enviroment Level Admin, i am here to formally welcome you to the Final Level!"
Everyone's jaw dropped, the final level! "this fucking nightmare could come to an end!" i said, Sasha nodded.
"Now, Please turn you attention to the massive tower before you, this is my tower, to reach me, you must survive all 10 floors, this will not be easy, all the strengh you have gained will be put to the test, monsters will be much stronger, but the rewards will be greater." B.E.L.A spoke.
Victor's eyes flashed, as did mine, which prompted B.E.L.A to continue.
"Now, here are the rules.." she said, an in an instant, a screen appeared in front of everyone's face.
Rules:
1. When inside, you will be unable to level up, use DNA augments to strengen yourselves.
2. after every 3 floors, a Safe Zone will spawn, use them to recover, buy supplies using the Beast Coins you have aquired, and buy DNA Augments.
3. Player on Player violence/Misconduct is strictly prohibited, attackers will be punished acordingly.
4. Death in the tower is permenent, so caution is advised.
5. a Minimum of 8 players is needed to acess the final floor, automatic failure if conditions are not met.
"Well, i guess we'll be fine, as long as nobody gets the wrong ideas..." Sasha said.
B.E.L.A spoke again, "I await you all on the final floor, those who suceed, the rewards will be great, those who survive all 10 floors will be allowed to return to their world, and keep the powers they have gained."
Sasha and i stared at each other, we being allowed to keep our hybrid forms and powers, that is worth any hell we've endured!
"May fortune smile upon you all!" B.E.L.A spoke, and with that, the tower doors opened, one by one, we stepped in, not knowing what dangers await us....
