#23- Floor 3!
When we entered the 3rd floor, i'd thought we would end up in something straight out of Dante's Inferno, instead we found ourselves in a pure white room, upon further inpection, it looked like a courtroom, minus the color.
At the edge of the room sat a female judge, she was blindfolded, in one hand, she held a sword, in the other a gavel, her expression was cold, but it held an sliver of kindness.
The system began to speak:
Floor 3 Challenge!
Courtroom Of Confession
Confess one truth or reveal 1 secret, Truth will be rewarded, Liars will be punished.
I decided to go first, i faced the judge.
"Truth or secret?" she asked
"Secret." i replied, the judge nodded.
I faced the group and faced Sasha, i began to speak.
"I am Bi-sexual, but i normally lean towards girls, but because of my Muscular Dystrophy, i didn't have the courage to approach anyone, and because of the teasing, i eventually became withdrawn, Millie being my only friend at the time."
The judge nodded and banged her gavel, "Approved"
a glowing green mark appeared on my hand, satisfied, i stood aside to let others go next.
Millie faced the Judge next, "Truth or Secret?"
"Truth." Millie replied, the judge nodded.
She faced me, "Abby, when my parents took you in, for a long time, i was jealous, Mom and Dad always did more for you than they did for me, one time, i even thought of putting rat poison in your cereal, then Mom sat me down and told me you were diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, all the anger i had for you died that day, but that didn't erase how aweful i felt, i almost tried to kill you, and that wasn't fair of me."
The Judge nodded and banged her gavel, "Approved."
The same green mark was on her hand, i placed my hand on her shoulder.
"Millie, i don't blame you, i just suddenly entered your life, and you folks starting doting on me, anyone would have tried to kill me that.." i said.
Sasha patted Millie's shoulder, then it was her turn to face the judge.
"Truth or Secret?" the judge asked.
"Secret." Sasha said, the judge nodded.
Like Millie, she faced me, Abby, i failed you as a Class rep, a Class Rep is supposed to maintain order in the class, and yet for years, i allowed Ashley to insult and harass you, i should have reigned her in a long time ago, but her family gave her a lot of clout, even still, i should have at least ratted her out to her folks, Ashley took my cowardace as approval, she may be dead now, but that doesn't change the fact that if i had acted earlier, you would have been a lot better off."
The Judge was still, a single teardrop fell from under her blindfold, "A..approved!" she said as she banged her gavel.
The green mark appeared on her wrist as joined me and Millie, she hugged me, i hugged back, i could tell she was truly sorry.
One by one each person revealed a secret or truth, from Zak having killed one of his own Guild members to get Millie her Player Core, to another stealing food from a sick friend.
Finally it was Victor's turn, i shook my hand, everything about Victor was a contridiction.
"Secret or Truth?" the Judge asked.
"Secret." Victor said.
"This ought to be good..." i thought to myself.
Victor smiled, then turned to me, "Abby, you and i have never met before, but i know your parents, i will tell you more when we reach the safe zone."
The Judge nodded, "Approved" she slamed her gavel.
With that we completed Floor 3, the portal opened and we all went in, but one thing was on my mind...
"How the FUCK does Victor know about my parents?"
We entered the safe zone a few minutes later, it was a large campsite with a caravan of stalls arround it, we could use the Beast Coins to buy supplies.
I found Victor sitting by a potion stall, a small smile on his face.
"All-right feather-head, how the FUCK do you know my parents, and it better be the truth, i'm in no fucking mood for mind games." i said, Sasha joining me with her arms crossed.
"I was your mother's ex- boyfriend..." Victor said.
My eyes widened!
"Your mother was quite the catch, beauty, brains, a well-paying job, she and had been together since high school, i was the heir to my father's software company, we were a match made in heaven." he said.
I gagged, having threw up in my mouth...
"You mother broke up with me not long after, she didn't like the way i treated others, she soon married you father 2 years later, i will admit, i didn't take being dumped very well..."
"What the hell are you getting at?" i asked.
"I turned to alcohol for a long time, i resented your mother, you father, and when you were born, you." Victor explained, "Arround your 11th birthday, i got into a car accident, due to me being intoxicated, the car i crashed into belonged to your parents..."
"You son of a bitch..." Sasha growled.
"I..didn't even know those were your parents until Ashley told me who you were..." Victor said, "For a while i was happy, had your mother stayed with me, she would have been alive..."
"YOU RAT BASTARD!!!" i roared, Sasha was able to hold me back, hot tears streaming from her face.
Victor in a panic, flew away, i was so blind with rage, i completely blacked out.
I cried myself to sleep later on, the asshole who killed my parents was 3 tents over....
