The Next Day, Millie and get ready to go into the woods to level up and find more food, because even if Millie and i pooled resources, the food we both recived from our Newbie starter pacage will only last us a few weeks if we're lucky.
As we exited our cabin, we saw many of our classmates bragging about their talents.
One said their talent could locate water, which was a decent talent, another said, they can stun monsters for a short time.
But it was Ashley who boasted the most, her talent gives her attacks the lightning element.
I simply rolled my eyes, but as we were about to leave, Ashley had to start somthing.
"Hey! insect! what talent did you get?" she asked, the entire group turning to face me!
"Ah fuck...." i said to myself, i decided to show them my talent.
Talent: Insect Master (Rank S) Attacks against Insect-Type Monsters do 3X damage, also recive double EXP when killing Insect and Rodent-type monsters.
Everyone just stood there, but then the whole group began laughing!
"she gets double damage, but only if she fights insects?" one said, "S-rank or not, that's just limiting her to fighting one type of monster!" one said.
"I dunno, even if it's limited she could level up a lot faster if she finds only insects and rodents." another said.
Ashley simply smiled, "A worthless talent for a worthless person, a match made in heaven, you'll NEVER reach level 10 by the time the Newbie period ends, you might as well lie down and die right now and save the embarassment!"
"Fuck...You...Ashley!" i snapped, "Come on Millie.."
Millie simply nodded, but Ashley stopped us..
"Millie, Abby is just going to drag you down, why don't you join us? you're far stronger than that trash, she'll be dead by nightfall, why die along with her?" Ashley cooed.
"Because i made a promise..." she said.
Millie was referring to the day we met, she saved me from some girls hitting me with sticks, she then said that no matter what happens, she would never abandon me.
Ashley knew about that promise, "It's survival of the fittest, you really a promise holds weight here, i know all about Little Abby's condition, even as a hybrid, you really think she'll last long?"
"Go to hell, Ashley!" i said.
"No, you need to here this, in this world, the strong devour the weak, you should have died along with your parents!" Ashley spat.
That..was it...the whole area went quiet...
Hot tears flowed down my cheeks, i just flew into the woods, hoping they didn't see me cry.
Millie faced Ashley, a dark look in her eyes, but she knew better, she ran after me.
Everyone looked at Ashley, "What?"
"Wow...that was low Ash," one classmate said, he was a Rhino.
"Yeah Ashley, you know how sensitive she is about that." another classmate said, she was a praying mantis, "I'm a fucking insect too, you gonna insult my parents too?"
Ashley gulped....
This was Sasha Scholtz, she was the class rep before we ended up here, she tried to help me, but Ashley's family was too influentional.
"That's your problem Ashley, you just go too far...." Sasha said, and with that, she went after me and Millie...
