Luo Qingwu’s mind raced, instantly connecting all the clues.

She took a step back, crossed her arms, and swept a suspicious gaze over him. “So, the assassin who broke into Luo Jin’er’s room earlier tonight, causing chaos in the mansion… was you?”

Xiao Junhe instinctively pressed a hand to the wound at his side, remaining silent. Only his phoenix eyes, hidden behind the mask, fixed intently on her.Full novel: Abandoned at the Border, Only to Find the Man I Slept With Is the Current Crown Prince — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

This silence was an admission.

“Hah.” Luo Qingwu let out an angry laugh. “But wait, if you were looking for Luo Jin’er, how could she not recognize you, her childhood friend? Why would she scream for someone to catch the assassin?”

Behind the mask, Xiao Junhe clenched his jaw tightly.

How would he know! He had come here looking for her!

Unaware of his frustration, Luo Qingwu continued her deduction. “Was it because you were wearing a mask? That shouldn’t matter. I’ve only seen you twice and I recognized you. How could she not?”

“Most importantly,” her gaze sharpened like a blade, “what were you doing in her courtyard in the middle of the night?”

Suddenly, Luo Qingwu thought of something and took another step back, her face filled with disgust. “No way… Could it be that after being ‘teased’ by me during the day, you got all worked up and couldn’t wait to run to your beloved Luo Jin’er?”

These words completely ignited Xiao Junhe’s fury.

He took a sudden step forward and, to Luo Qingwu’s shock, cupped the back of her head. A scorching, slightly blood-tinged kiss descended without warning, fiercely silencing her incessant chatter.

“Mmph…!”

All her questions and disdain were swallowed in that moment.

Luo Qingwu could only feel the man’s lips, burning and domineering, madly stealing her breath.

This damned, familiar yet unfamiliar heat…

Xiao Junhe’s heart pounded like a drum. He had only meant to shut her up, but when he felt the softness of her lips and was enveloped by her unique, intoxicating scent, the threads of his reason snapped one by one.

Damn it, it’s happening again.

He really only reacted to her!

Luo Qingwu’s mind went blank for three seconds before she realized she had been violated!

Rage instantly overwhelmed her reason! In her panic, she remembered his injury!

Without hesitation, her slender fingers precisely pinched the wound at his side. Using all her strength, she twisted it hard!

“Hiss—”

The sharp pain forced a muffled groan from Xiao Junhe, finally making him release her.

Luo Qingwu leaped back three steps like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. She raised the back of her hand and vigorously wiped her swollen, reddened lips, her beautiful eyes blazing with fury.

“You’re insane! I’ll call for help!” she threatened in a low voice.

As soon as she finished speaking, two dark figures leaped over the courtyard wall.

“Master, the guards have been diverted. It’s not safe to stay here. We must retreat now!” the Anwei urged urgently, his gaze wary and murderous as it fell on Luo Qingwu’s face.

Xiao Junhe gave Luo Qingwu a deep look, his dark eyes swirling with complex, indecipherable emotions. In the end, he only uttered one cold word: “Go.”

“Yes!”

The two dark figures supported him, and with a few leaps, they vanished into the night.

Only Luo Qingwu remained, stomping her feet in anger.

She wiped her lips again, utterly furious.

She had just gotten up to eat some melon when a mad dog inexplicably barged into her courtyard and even took a bite out of her!

After biting her, he didn’t even offer an explanation before running off just like that?!

Luo Qingwu gritted her teeth and stormed back into her room, slamming the door shut with a loud “bang.”

She sprawled on the bed in a star shape, staring blankly at the canopy above. Lifting her hand, she wiped her mouth again.

She felt tainted.

So, what exactly did that damned Lin Lang intend to do by barging into Luo-Fu in the middle of the night?

Luo Qingwu’s mind rapidly pieced together what she believed to be the most logical chain of reasoning:

He had broken into Luo Jin’er’s courtyard late at night and even brought people to distract the guards—clearly, this was premeditated.

Why? It must be because he was unhappy with Luojia’s decision to switch brides and wanted to change his fiancée back to the Luo Jin’er he so desperately longed for!

He must have approached Luo Jin’er during the day, but she refused. That’s why he took such a desperate risk in the middle of the night, planning to force himself on Luo Jin’er and make it a done deal!

Damn it!

Luo Qingwu abruptly sat up from the bed.

Was he really that disgusted by her? Did he really not want to marry her that badly? To avoid marrying her, he was even willing to become a rapist?!

But… if he was so disgusted by her, why did he kiss her just now?

Could it be… to disgust her?

Yes! That must be it!

He had been caught in the act and, in his shame and anger, deliberately used this method to humiliate and disgust her! He wanted her to back down and voluntarily break off the engagement!

“Ahhhhh—”

Luo Qingwu irritably grabbed her hair.

She was genuinely disgusted! Utterly and completely!

Just you wait, Lin Lang!

A blazing fire of determination ignited in Luo Qingwu’s eyes.

You don’t want to marry me? You insist on marrying Luo Jin’er and no one else?

Well, I’m not going to let you have your way!

This marriage—I’m going through with it!

If it’s about being disgusting, she could do it too!
