The hairs on Wu Xiaomei’s nape suddenly stood on end. A bone-chilling sense of danger surged up her spine—someone was behind her.

But right in front of her was the door. Beyond it was the ship’s side passage, and from there she could reach the front and rear decks.

And Shen Jianchen and Lin Tianrou were on the deck.Full novel: Abandoned in the apocalypse? I rise through plunder to make a comeback — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She absolutely could not let Wu Xiaomei step onto that deck.

Wu Xiaomei had one foot just outside the doorway, half her body already on the ship’s side passage. The moment she turned back in panic, her pupils contracted violently.

Her eyes nearly split open.

Right in front of her face was Li Su—cold, expressionless, and terrifyingly close.

“You… how are you here? You should clearly be—”

“Should clearly be at home, watching that little brat, waiting for the apocalypse to arrive helplessly?”

Li Su smiled.

It was a faint smile, but there wasn’t a trace of warmth in her eyes.

Before Wu Xiaomei could even shout, Li Su lifted her leg and delivered a clean, explosive high kick. With her C-rank combat skill, the strike slammed directly into Wu Xiaomei’s frontal bone, stunning her instantly.

In that split second of confusion, Li Su covered her mouth with one hand and slammed her against the cold ship railing, while her other hand locked around her throat.

Her grip tightened until her knuckles turned white—strong enough to crush her windpipe.

Wu Xiaomei gasped for air, eyes rolling back. She forced out a broken question from her throat:

“Li Su… what are you trying to do?”

Li Su leaned close to her ear, her voice soft like a whisper—yet colder than ice.

“Of course I’m here to collect the debt you owe me.”

“I don’t owe you anything…”

Wu Xiaomei tried to stall, but Li Su gave her no chance.

A bone knife flashed upward and stabbed into her body at an angle from the lower abdomen into the chest—this time, aimed straight at the heart.

“You…”

The familiar motion made Wu Xiaomei’s eyes widen as she stared at her in disbelief.

“Yes. I’m also a reborn one,” Li Su said calmly, watching every flicker of emotion on her face—shock, fear, disbelief.

“I know everything you’ve planned. Wu Xiaomei, if it weren’t for me, you would’ve died in that alley. And instead of repaying me, you repaid kindness with betrayal.”

“But that’s not even your worst mistake.”

“Your worst mistake is awakening early… and getting a spatial ability.”

Wu Xiaomei’s eyes were wide with terror.

How did she know everything?

But she no longer had the chance to speak.

Li Su had already activated her ability:

“Whatever is yours is mine.”

Skill activated: “Even a direct grab is still mine.”

Acquired ability: Storage Space (A-rank)!

Li Su curled her lips slightly.

She dragged the body back into the cabin, found an empty room, and stuffed the corpse inside before closing the door.

She stripped Wu Xiaomei’s coat and shoes, then quickly removed her own down jacket and snow boots underneath—revealing her wetsuit.

She packed everything, along with the corpse, into the storage space.

Then she put on Wu Xiaomei’s coat, shoes, and hat, cleaned up all traces on the floor, and walked out calmly.

Standing on the railing, she overheard Shen Jianchen’s voice from the deck:

“Why hasn’t Wu Xiaomei come back yet?”

Lin Tianrou replied, “Then let’s go check.”

Footsteps approached.

Li Su didn’t rush. She waited.

Her perception and observation ability were pushed to the limit, tracking their positions and gaze.

The moment she confirmed she was about to be seen—

She jumped.

“Ahhhh!!”

Lin Tianrou screamed.

Shen Jianchen also panicked. “Wu Xiaomei, what are you doing?!”

Wu Xiaomei… had jumped into the sea.

Right in front of them.

People immediately rushed to rescue her. Shen Jianchen directly called the coast guard.

Wu Xiaomei could not die.

She still had all their supplies in her spatial storage—plus the fuel and the Paramount off-road vehicle.

He was going insane.

Everything had been fine just moments ago. How did she suddenly jump into the sea?

He couldn’t understand it.

Meanwhile, Li Su had already activated:

She swam several meters in one breath, quickly leaving the ship behind.

She retrieved her hidden diving equipment, returned to shore, and reached her parked car on the deserted beach.

Snow had already begun to accumulate lightly.

She started the engine, turned the heater to max, removed her wetsuit, and wrapped herself tightly in a down jacket.

She didn’t leave immediately.

She drank a couple of mouthfuls of liquor, rubbed her hands and ears until warmth slowly returned, then listened as sirens rushed toward the harbor.

Only then did she drive away, activating her A-rank counter-surveillance ability.

Behind her, chaos erupted on the ship.

Someone had fallen into the water.

“We’re in a shallow zone. The weather’s calm. We’ll find her,” the captain reassured them.

But both Shen Jianchen and Lin Tianrou were frantic.

Without Wu Xiaomei, their entire stockpile—including fuel and the Paramount—was gone.

“Alive, we want her alive. If she’s dead, we want the body!” Shen Jianchen roared.

Lin Tianrou froze. “C-corpse?”

“What use is a corpse? If she’s dead, does her spatial ability still work?”

Shen Jianchen’s eyes were bloodshot.

“I’ve heard of abilities that can steal other people’s powers. As long as we find Wu Xiaomei… and the thief… the storage space can still be used!”

He refused to accept it.

Over twenty days of effort, hundreds of thousands—gone in an instant.

Gone.

“Find her body no matter what!”
