Editor: Atlas Studios “What, what’s wrong?” Summer Ford looked puzzled.
Ethan Laurent turned slowly, his back to her, and stared deeply into her face.
There was no doubt about Summer Ford’s beauty—she was fresh, bright, and lively.
However, he hadn’t expected that wherever she went, her looks seemed to attract trouble.
Ethan Laurent watched her for a while, his deep gaze obscuring his thoughts.
“Come in!” After a moment of silence, he tossed out this sentence and turned to enter the VIP room ahead.
Summer Ford instinctively followed him in, arriving by his side.
Originally, there were several young people in the room.
Upon seeing Ethan Laurent and her entering together, they voluntarily left.
Ethan Laurent sat on the sofa after entering, took a piece of paper and a pen from the table beside him, scribbled something unknown, and handed the paper to her.
“Sign it!”
“What’s this?” Summer Ford was stunned for a moment, lowering her eyes to glance briefly at the agreement, noticing the two words for one billion.
“Agreement fee!
I’m advancing the costs for you in various aspects for the next ten years.
Resign from your job here; that’s my condition.” He lightly swirled the glass of red wine between his fingers and pulled a gold card from his wallet to hand to her.
He leisurely added, “To put it nicely, it’s called aid; to put it bluntly, it’s called…”
Turning his gaze to her face, he clearly spat out the last two words, “selling yourself!”
Summer Ford’s facial expression froze suddenly; the little gratitude she had for him previously plummeted straight to a negative number.
Summer Ford felt humiliated, wanting to throw the card in his face, but impulses are just impulses.
Her fingertips fiercely pinched the flesh of her palm, and she coldly refused, “Sorry, I decline.”
“Miss Ford should think carefully before answering; don’t speak like an eighteen-year-old while behaving like a three-year-old!” Ethan Laurent sounded as if he had heard a ridiculous joke, his lips curled with sarcasm.
To him, her words now seemed childish!
Not mentioning how substantial the amount he offered was, she couldn’t surely handle the pressure from Ronan Ford pushing her either.
She clearly had no choice, yet she pretended to be noble, acted capable?
Summer Ford actually understood this in her heart, but she didn’t want to give in.
She was penniless, just a poor student, but even poor people have dignity!
Even if she was desperate, she wouldn’t sell herself!
If dignity doesn’t belong to her, what would she have left?
“Why do you do this?” She looked at him in confusion.
Ethan Laurent’s glance flickered with brilliance upon looking at the necklace on her neck.
However, his words were indifferent and cold: “I’ve told you before, I dislike having things I’ve touched being tainted by others.
I find it dirty!”
Summer Ford had no idea about his identity, merely feeling his words were utterly ludicrous.
A mocking smile played on her lips as she faintly retorted, “Excuse me, whether I’m dirty, does it concern you, sir?”
He wasn’t anyone to her, so why did he get to disdain her?
Ethan Laurent’s eyes darkened, he toyed with the glass in his hand, his face slowly lifted, and his cold gaze swept over her like a knife, sharp enough that Summer Ford’s skin felt a scorching heat, making her take two uneasy steps back.
