When they arrived at the restroom’s entrance, Ivana refused to go any further.
“I take no interest in animal excretion!”
She certainly wasn’t about to watch him use the toilet.
Not insisting, Lucas Walker let her go and walked into the bathroom while Ivana instantly turned her head to the side.
Inside, the sound of running water echoed clearly.
Listening to this, Ivana furrowed her brow in irritation – Lucas Walker actually went to the bathroom?
Indeed, in the restroom, Lucas Walker didn’t exactly use the toilet.
He merely washed his hands before turning off the faucet.
Upon emerging, Lucas Walker found Ivana yawning next to the door.
Since breakfast, she had gone without food until now in the evening.
The tussle with him had drained much of her.
She was absolutely exhausted.
Observing her languid demeanor, akin to a docile kitten, Lucas Walker let a small smirk slip onto his face, stretching out a hand to grasp hers.
Like an adult leading a child, he guided her to the edge of the bed.
“Let’s sleep,” Lucas Walker declared.
“You sleep on the floor,” Ivana retorted, unmoving.
“This is my bed!” Lucas Walker countered, arching his brow.
“Then I’ll sleep on the floor!”
She was making concessions, wasn’t she?
Before she could finish, Lucas Walker scooped her up, and as Ivana prepared to protest, a soft duvet fell over her.
“Half for each!”
Without finishing his sentence, Lucas Walker had already wormed his way under the cover, snuggling up beside her.
Ivana wanted to evade him, but she found her hand held fast.
Soon she was drawn into his embrace.
Despite wriggling to break free, Lucas Walker’s grip on her only tightened.
“I just want to sleep.
If you have other ideas, I’m ready.”
He whispered into her ear with a husky voice, laden with a suppressed emotion.
His hot breath tingled her earlobe.
Somewhere near her thigh, something hard nudged her.
Too tired to move, Ivana chose not to react, realizing she wouldn’t be able to resist if Lucas Walker forced himself on her.
Pretending to sleep in a heap of dog droppings might not be that bad, she thought.
Once he dozes off, she would make him pay.
With such thoughts in mind, she feigned sleep and gradually closed her eyes.
Her heart was racing, and her muscles tensed.
She focused on the man’s breathing behind her, trying to discern whether Lucas Walker had fallen asleep.
His heartbeat was slightly fast yet suitably rhythmic, which lulled her into slumber.
Soon, fatigue overcame alertness, and she drifted off before him.
Lucas Walker couldn’t sleep.
Holding someone soft and sweet-smelling in his arms was, of course, keeping him wide awake.
Underneath the bright light,
She angled her body away from his, her radiant skin glowing like marble.
Long, black eyelashes hung low, casting soft shadows.
She seemed like a sleeping angel.
There was a stark difference between the sleeping and awake Ivana.
When awake, she resembled a baby leopard or a wildcat, always ready to swipe at him.
However, the sleeping Ivana was innocent, like an adorable infant that drew his protective instinct.
A powerful thought suddenly surged in Lucas Walker’s mind.
He wanted to keep her, to hold her close and possess her completely.
Forever!
With this thought, Lucas Walker wrapped her arm in a tight embrace, clutching her even closer.
