Jiang Yun appeared in his usual manner, high above the Leaping Carp Sect, enjoying the view of such a grand sect. Though he had seen many magnificent sects before, this sect was still quite dazzling, with its gate having a unique design: a carp literally on top of the gate, trying to leap over it.
Jiang Yun was impressed; true to the sect’s name, the Leaping Carp Sect showed a carp trying to achieve greatness by leaping over the gate. As he admired the design, Jiang Yun still had the goal to destroy this sect. Entering through the gates, Jiang Yun killed those whom he saw as they attacked him for intruding in the sect.
Jiang Yun decided to take it slow and enjoy the scenery, as the sect was close to a river and surrounded by mountains, making for an amazing view. The architecture was well-designed in the sect, as every building had a beautiful design encompassing the theme of their sect regarding leaping carps.
As Jiang Yun slowly walked through the sect, killing those in the way, he finally arrived at the center where the main hall of the sect was. When Jiang Yun entered, immediately several late-stage Mahayana realm experts attacked him using all sorts of weapons. This kind of force was enough to even kill several half-immortals when sneak-attacked. For Jiang Yun, a wave of a hand was enough to kill all of them and destroy their treasures. What remained in his path was littered with corpses, as Jiang Yun was too lazy to clean it up and turn them to ash.
Once completely inside, Jiang Yun walked through the grand hall full of paintings and decorations of carps until he reached the end of the hall, where several chairs were lined up to the side and in the middle was a throne with carp ornaments. These seats all had people on them, ranging from early-stage Mahayana to half-immortals.
The leader who sat in the middle addressed Jiang Yun, who was invading their sect, in a calm and unhurried tone: "Why have you come to my sect to cause trouble? Though you have killed a few of our Mahayana realm elders, it doesn’t mean we are weak; on the contrary, that was just a portion of our forces. What you see now is our full might. I doubt you are a match for all of us. If you obediently tell us who sent you, we will only abolish your cultivation and let you live; otherwise, we will make your life worse than death."
Jiang Yun, not worried, said nothing; instead, he slowly raised his hand, gathered qi into his hand, and ejected the qi. This caused a giant hand to materialize, going towards the group of people. The group was immediately alarmed at the power of the strike and stood up and worked together to block the strike.
After much exertion, the group, exhausted and depleted of qi, finally managed to block the qi hand. Some, though, were worse off, directly in the line of damage inflicted with serious injuries.
Jiang Yun didn’t intend to kill them, as he was still here to enjoy his time here at the Leaping Carp Sect. Killing the group too fast would ruin his fun.
That strike he threw made the group from the Leaping Carp Sect get serious as they finally realized they weren’t the opponent of the man in front of them. This made the sect master of the Leaping Carp Sect ask, "Are you descended from the immortal realm? How could you be so strong? What could we have done to provoke an esteemed immortal such as yourself?"
Jiang Yun responded, "I am not an immortal from the upper realm, but I am still more than powerful enough to kill all of you. As for why I’m here, you were the ones to try to find me first. Let me tell you a secret: I was the one to break into the secret realm and take everything. Though you won’t be able to tell anyone now. Do you have any last words before you die?"
The leader of the Leaping Carp Sect then sighed, "Since you aren’t an immortal, then you should spare us. We have connections to the upper realm. Our ancestors created the Leaping Carp Sect in the upper realm; they aren’t a top power, but they are still a sizeable force. The sect master of the Leaping Carp Sect in the upper realm is a True Immortal, so unless you want to be hunted down by them, you have to let us go."
Jiang Yun found new amusement, then said, "Then call one of your ancestors down from the upper realm. I want to see this so-called powerful being and kill him and destroy that sect from the upper realm, too."
The leader of the Leaping Carp Sect was confused as to why, even though Jiang Yun said he wasn’t an immortal, he wasn’t afraid of immortals. Putting the thought aside, since he was given a way to survive, he would take it and call down an ancestor from the immortal realm.
The leader of the Leaping Carp Sect immediately used a treasure to communicate to the upper realm and summon an ancestor from the immortal realm. Soon, a figure materialized from the air and solidified to become a man who was a Heaven Immortal. Though this man was not the sect leader of the upper realm Leaping Carp Sect, he must still hold a high position.
The man said, "Who is it that dares to destroy my Leaping Carp Sect? A mere ant in the lower realm dares to offend immortals in the upper realm?" Jiang Yun then addressed the man, "I am the one who is here to destroy your sect; what will you do about it?"
The immortal man, who heard this, immediately flared up in anger and summoned a massive amount of water out of thin air, creating a gigantic wave. This wave then rushed towards Jiang Yun, intending to kill him from the force, and even if it didn’t kill him, it would drown Jiang Yun.
Seeing this, Jiang Yun was not panicking; instead, he raised his hand and did a cutting motion. Immediately, the waves parted down the middle, crashing into the walls of the sect, breaking it apart and leaving holes in the once-grand sect hall.
The immortal from the upper realm was surprised that his attack didn’t kill Jiang Yun, someone from the lower realm. So this time, he decided to use his full-powered attack. The man condensed water into an extremely dense sword, so dense it could be mistaken for a solid. The extreme pressure from condensing the sword then erupted, springing forward at a speed that was naked to the human eye.
Jiang Yun, on the other hand, could still clearly see the sword condensed from water and easily caught it in front of him. Seeing this, the immortal man was immediately alarmed, knowing he was no match for Jiang Yun as his full-powered attack was so easily caught. The attack carried enough power to destabilize the space around it, as it was a Heavenly Immortal launching a full-powered attack in the lower realm. Yet even such an attack was so easily caught, the only feeling the immortal man felt at this moment was fear, as the person in front of him could easily kill him. So, the immortal man prepared to escape back to the upper realm.
Seeing this, Jiang Yun threw the sword back and cut off an arm of the immortal before he escaped back to the immortal realm. This escape was allowed by Jiang Yun, as he didn’t want to take the trouble of finding where the Leaping Carp Sect was in the upper realm.
Jiang Yun then summoned a fireball and instantly killed whoever was left alive at the Leaping Carp Sect, leaving an inferno that burned the Leaping Carp Sect to ash. Then, right after finishing, Jiang Yun tore open the space in front of him to go to the immortal realm to give a chance to that man from the Leaping Carp Sect in the upper realm.
Jiang Yun let him go just to follow him, and he wouldn’t let a potentially dangerous survivor live, so destroying them to the root was the best option.
After tearing open the space, Jiang Yun stepped into the opening, and after he entered, the torn space immediately closed, leaving behind space as it was, but around it laid the ruins of the once-mighty Leaping Carp Sect.
Jiang Yun, after stepping through the torn space, appeared in the immortal realm. Sensing around him, he felt the aura of the man he let escape. Jiang Yun then chased after the man, hoping to find the Leaping Carp Sect in the upper realm.
The man who escaped flew frantically towards the Leaping Carp Sect, wanting to use the sect’s help to get revenge. The arm he had to leave behind due to having to run away so fast now left a bloody mess at the place that once had an arm. This made him very angry, and he wouldn’t let this go until he saw Jiang Yun dead.
If Jiang Yun could defeat someone at the Heavenly Immortal realm, could he fight against several of them at once, along with a True Immortal? the man thought.
Bright with expectation, the man flew as fast as he could towards his sect. Soon after, he finally reached the Leaping Carp Sect and passed through the gates, rushing towards the main hall.
Upon arriving, he finally saw the elders as well as the sect master in a meeting, discussing something.
The group of people, seeing how bloody of a mess the person who came was, couldn’t understand how an elder of the sect who was sent to the mortal realm could have suffered such severe injuries.
The sect leader asked, "What happened in the lower realm? Why are you so injured? There should be no one who is your match in the lower realm. After all, we have spent sect resources to send you down to solve the crisis of our affiliated sect in the lower realm."
The man, exhausted, quickly replied, "I met a very strong person in the mortal realm. I don’t know why such a strong being could be in the mortal realm, but I had to run away after he cut off my arm. I plead with the elders and sect master to help me and go down to the mortal realm to deal with this man."
The sect master, hearing this, flew into a rage, yelling, "No one can tarnish my sect! Quickly send people down to deal with this mess. I want to hear good news of this man's death soon."
After giving out his orders, the sect was in an uproar, as they heard mortals had injured an elder. Soon, a team of elders was gathered, preparing to go to the mortal realm to deal with the man who caused this mess.
Before the group could use the treasures to descend, they suddenly heard a loud voice echoing from the sky:
"I am Jiang Yun, and I am here today to wipe out your sect. I have followed that elder of yours to find your sect, and you people can’t escape me today. Prepare to die under my hands, as you have no chance of escaping."
The people in the Leaping Carp Sect were baffled: how did someone in the mortal realm suddenly come to the upper realm? Could he really be an immortal who descended just like the elder? If so, why do they have such a grudge against our sect that he would be willing to descend just to deal with a bunch of mortal ants?
Jiang Yun then became clearly visible from the direction of the sound, floating confidently with no trace of fear on his face; the people in the Leaping Carp Sect stared in silence, wondering what he was going to do next.
