After Jiang Yun appeared at the Leaping Carp sect, he started his first action of attack. He sent fireballs toward anywhere with a living person. This time, Jiang Yun’s goal wasn’t to completely destroy the sect’s buildings but to kill the people.
Jiang Yun’s thoughts were that soon, people in his sect would ascend, and he needed a place for them to stay, so he might as well choose this place. This thought was due to how beautiful the sect looked; just like the lower realm Leaping Carp sect, the place was beautiful, if not more so. Surrounded by mountains, lush forests, and a river to the side, this place was secluded from the rest of the immortal realm and was well hidden. No one should be able to find this sect easily, so he could just leave it here until his sect ascended.
As for why they couldn’t stay in the lower realm instead of ascending, the lower realm lacks immortal energy. Even if there was immortal energy, it would be in small quantities—not enough for an immortal to continue cultivating to the next realm.
Jiang Yun was capable of bringing immortal energy to the lower realm, but this would cause more harm than good. The immortal realm is too rich in energy and too powerful for a mortal to absorb. If exposed to it for long periods, the mortal absorbing this energy would explode.
So it’s better for the people in the sect to naturally come to the immortal realm to absorb the energy than for Jiang Yun to bring it down and expose the sect to immortal energy.
Understanding this, Jiang Yun wanted to claim the Leaping Carp sect territory in the Immortal Realm. Not to mention how beautiful the place was, the women in the sect would love such an elegant place; it would even put their current sect territory to shame.
Continuing his barrage of attacks, the only people left who hadn’t been killed were the strongest of the elders in the Heaven Immortal realm and the sect leader who was at the True Immortal realm.
This was because Jiang Yun still wanted to savor the moment of destroying another sect a little longer. He rarely gets to go outside these days to destroy sects; instead, he is constantly annoyed by sects coming to find trouble with him. Jiang Yun has killed quite a few people who have offended him recently and wanted to vent a little longer with these people.
The group who were still alive was experiencing the horror of the massacre of their sect. Just moments ago everything was fine, but now the once-mighty lineage that took an incredibly long amount of time to build up was suddenly burned and turned to ash. All these people, painstakingly raised to the current point, were killed off like ants, not knowing why they died so meaninglessly.
This caused the elders to go mad, disregarding their safety and wanting to fight Jiang Yun to the death. They launched their full power, drawing upon the river and creating a massive body of water, shooting it all at Jiang Yun.
Like before, Jiang Yun made another swinging motion, parting the body of water in two. Then, he waved his hand, slapping these attackers into a blood mist before sending a fireball to turn them to ash. Jiang Yun didn’t want their blood staining the sect, as he wanted this territory.
The only ones left now were the sect leader and the man who escaped before with an arm chopped off.
These two couldn’t comprehend the situation and didn’t know what to do next. The sect leader then said to the only other sect member remaining in a horrified tone, "What kind of disaster did you bring to our sect? We will now be eternal sinners of the sect, as the pioneers of our sect would never forgive our action in the destruction of our sect."
The man without the arm understood this and lowered his head, accepting his fate as he was now a sinner—the man who brought his sect to ruin.
Both of them knew that they couldn’t harm Jiang Yun in any way and accepted their fate. Jiang Yun, seeing that they had no intention of struggling anymore, knew he couldn’t get more enjoyment out of this and decided to finish things. He then sent two fireballs and instantly turned both of them to ash.
This left the once-lively and powerful sect empty and lifeless. The only thing remaining was an empty sect that retained all of its infrastructure and beauty but contained no sign of life.
Jiang Yun, seeing this, then left, deciding to come back later once someone from his sect ascended. He then flew high into the sky and tore through space to go back to the mortal realm. This left behind a desolate sect that will become the future territory of the Invincible Cloud sect.
Jiang Yun then returned to the mortal realm and went back to his sect. Upon returning, he saw the women who were in seclusion had finally come back out. As they had made significant progress, staying in seclusion too long wouldn’t be great for their mental health.
The gains of the seclusion were massive, though. Due to the treasures Jiang Yun gave them, significant progress was made. Tang Mei and Nangong Yu had entered the early and late stage of the Integrating Soul realm. Liu Ying and Bai Yue had entered Void Solidification. Hua Jing had reached Soul Formation while the other two disciples had entered Nascent Soul. Zhuang Min, even though starting late to cultivate, had reached Golden Core. Ning Nuo had even entered the Mahayana realm.
This satisfied Jiang Yun and made his arrangement in the Immortal Realm have value. As Ning Nuo was in the Mahayana realm, she would soon ascend, and having a place for her to stay would be good.
Jiang Yun then told the group of women his plans for them once they ascended. Jiang Yun also said, "Even if you go to the Immortal Realm, I will tear open a passage so that you can come back to the mortal realm if you wish, but those in the mortal realm cannot go to the Immortal Realm or you won’t be able to absorb the immortal energy and die. This way, you can continue cultivating and don’t have to be alone once you ascend."
The group of women, satisfied by what Jiang Yun said, no longer had any hesitation to reach Mahayana and ascend, but before that, they needed a break from so much seclusion.
The group of women spent the next few days relaxing. Some stayed with Jiang Yun, enjoying his presence, while others talked with each other, going for walks and enjoying life. Soon after, when the group of women had rested enough, they went back to seclusion. This left Jiang Yun once again alone, waiting for something to do.
The day passed and news spread that the Leaping Carp sect was destroyed. Many discussed who could have done it. After much discussion, it came to light that they sent people to the Eastern Region, as some saw a group of men leaving the Leaping Carp sect heading towards the Eastern Region.
Many theorized that the minority who said that maybe a powerful being broke into the secret realm and took everything was true. This caused the powerful being to silence the people who came to avoid trouble as well as destroying the sect that was looking for him.
This discussion was then deemed the most likely possibility, and many sects were alarmed. A mandatory summons of the major sects, excluding the Eastern Region, was issued. These sects didn’t know which Eastern Region sect it was that housed this powerful being, or it could be the entire sect just hiding their power, so the Eastern Region was excluded in this meeting.
As the sects gathered over the next few days, they all came to discuss the next course of action. They couldn’t let go that so many treasures were lost in the secret realm, and if they didn’t get them back, their sects would decline in the near future. The danger, though, was that whoever took it was strong enough to destroy a top power in the Central Region, and they needed to be careful when trying to get the treasures back.
The leader of this meeting, who sent out the invitations, then said, "We can’t let this person or group of people go and should get together to go to the Eastern Region to investigate. Who is with me?"
Silence then filled the room as no one wanted to risk their sect's safety and be the first to jump out as cannon fodder. Seeing this, the head of the meeting didn’t know what to do as, like them, he had the same thought and didn’t want to put his sect at the forefront of the danger.
After some time of silence, one of the participants who had remained silent but was not afraid had been looking around, unsatisfied. The person suddenly said, "You are all the top powers of the lower realm, why are you all so afraid? Since you all don’t want to go, then my sect shall be the first to go, but at that time, if we get the treasures back, you can’t come to us demanding some treasures, as it will be due to our efforts that we got the treasure. Is there any objection?"
Nobody objected, as they felt the situation was advantageous. They could let this confident man take the lead first to probe the situation. If he survived and came back with the treasure, a reason could be made up to force this person to share the treasure, which would make them not have to put in effort and still gain something. While if this person died in the Eastern Region, then information would be sent back about the situation in the Eastern Region. So if the man who spoke up first took the first attack, everything would be fine.
The man who spoke out, seeing the situation, became very angry: "You all, a bunch of weaklings, don’t even dare talk back in this situation. Fine then, I’ll go first to get all the treasure."
The man then walked out of the hall in anger. The leader of the meeting then said, "Since the situation now has a course of action, let's have that man first take the lead, and after a result comes, we will decide the next course of action." Everyone in the room then agreed to this decision. The group then dispersed the meeting, going back to their respective sects, waiting for some result to come back.
The man who walked out then contacted his sect and said, "We shall be invading the Eastern Region. Get everyone that you can in the Dark Abyss sect to send to the Eastern Region with me to find the treasures of the secret realm."
With that said, the man from the Dark Abyss sect then set off. His target was the Eastern Region to look for who took the treasure from the secret realm.
