After Jiang Yun had finished his words, the group immediately became angry, as they thought, "Who is this man to think he could threaten all of us present? We are a mighty force no matter where we go; how could you show us no respect?"
With thoughts swirling in the minds of those present, the leader of the group that launched the attack then spoke, "You have no choice but to hand over the treasures. Do you see all of us present? You should be very afraid, with over a hundred half-Immortals present and thousands of Mahayana realms here all to attack your sect—what do you expect to do? Even if you managed to summon Immortals down to help you, they can do nothing but die to us."
Jiang Yun still stood before the group of invaders and said nothing, refusing to agree.
The leader of the group got angry again from this man in front of him continuously not giving him face and accepting his demands. Not being able to take it anymore, he burned his blood; since the previous attack didn’t work, he refused to believe even burning blood would do nothing.
Again, the unexpected happened—again nothing happened—but this time, after the fire from his slash dispersed into nothing, Jiang Yun caught the sword with two fingers. With a slight bit of force, the sword cracked and turned into shards.
The owner of the sword, seeing this, felt his heart broken. This sword was his life’s treasure, something that has been with him for an uncountable amount of years, yet today it broke so easily with a touch from the man in front of him.
Disregarding what just happened, the man turned insane with rage. Blinded by whatever outcome would come next, he used everything he had and punched towards Jiang Yun.
Jiang Yun, seeing this, used the piece of the sword still in his hand and flicked his fingers, flying the shard towards the blinded man’s head. In that moment, the shard pierced his head, bringing an end to the man’s life. It was ironic that the thing that killed this man was the very sword that he had treasured.
The bystanders, seeing this, had only watched without being able to react. This was because this battle between these two had ended so fast that people couldn’t even comprehend it had ended until the man with the phoenix sword died.
This made everyone present realize the man before them was the powerhouse himself that stole the treasures. As for whether he was an Immortal that descended, nobody cared about that anymore. This man was dangerous, but with the combined might of everyone present, nobody believed that this man could kill all of them. Since that was the case, bombarding him with everyone present should kill him and allow everyone to reclaim the treasures of the secret realm.
As everyone was thinking something similar, one of the braver ones stepped forward, directing everyone: "Quickly, let’s all attack together so this man won’t have time to fight back. This way, we won’t have anymore casualties."
Understanding the man’s intent, everyone present took out their weapons and prepared their attack. In the next moment, everyone was ready and launched their attack simultaneously.
Jiang Yun just waited, amused that these people actually thought they had a chance. Since basically every powerful sect in the lower realm has gathered, Jiang Yun was debating on if he should kill everyone or some of them.
This was because if he killed all of them, then the mortal realm will in the future become very weak, and if something ever invades, then nobody except himself will have to step up and take care of the situation.
On the other hand, if he killed everyone, an unprecedented era will begin for the mortal realm, as in the future they will no longer terrorize the mortals. Those remaining sects would obviously be afraid of Jiang Yun too, and hide in their sects afraid of offending him and getting their sect destroyed.
As Jiang Yun was weighing the options, the combined attack of the group finally arrived. Jiang Yun set aside some of his attention towards the attack, and with a wave of his hand, sent a strong wind slamming towards the attack. This caused the attack to collide, but even though Jiang Yun had just casually swung his hand, the wind pressure was still superior and finally overpowered the attack, slicing through and heading towards the group of people.
The people, suddenly feeling a lingering aura of death, all activated their trump cards and defensive treasures. With a loud bang, the wind sliced and killed many of the cultivators in the group and finally stopped by severely injuring some closer in the front.
This horrified everyone present; even a casual wave of the man’s hand was enough to repel their attack and kill some of them. In disbelief, everyone present convinced themselves to believe that this was all a hoax and the man must be acting. That attack of his may have looked simple but must have used most of his energy to launch such a powerful attack.
With such delusions on everyone’s minds, they tried again and used whatever trump cards they had still hidden. The group bombarded Jiang Yun with everything they had, leaving nothing behind.
Jiang Yun, still splitting his attention and not really paying attention to the group, continued defending. Every time he waved his hand, a new portion of the group died, and this kept happening as the group was focused only on attacking.
After a while, everyone noticed that the current group of people had been slashed down by half of their original numbers. This made everyone stop and look around, realizing that this battle was completely one-sided.
The man in front of them had yet to sustain any injuries. On the contrary, this man doesn’t even look exhausted, nor does he look strained. This man looked like the attacks that everyone put their all into were just tickling him, or even worse, just a slight breeze.
Everyone present suddenly realized the gravity of the situation. Even with their current force, they probably couldn’t do much to Jiang Yun, as everyone present was exhausted but Jiang Yun still looked refreshed. There was simply nothing they could do to even harm Jiang Yun.
Some sects, seeing the situation turn for the worse, immediately ordered their sect to quickly escape. Several groups did the same, and soon several streaks of light flew through the air trying to get away from Jiang Yun.
Jiang Yun, seeing this, had no intention of letting these people go before he made a decision. So he swung his hand rapidly, creating several air blades that moved incredibly fast. They quickly caught up with those trying to escape. Soon, one by one, each of them was torn apart, dying instantly. Bodies fell down from the sky like heavy rain. The ground was soon littered with corpses of those trying to escape.
Soon, everyone who had tried to escape had been killed. Everyone left who hadn’t escaped at this moment were frozen with fear. They knew escaping meant death and could only wait until Jiang Yun said what he would do with them.
The group left was quite small; only a fourth of the people who had originally come were left. These people were all disheveled, in fear, and completely depleted of energy. They all looked at Jiang Yun as if he was a god of death.
Seeing that the rest of the group was quite obediently staying, he stopped his attacks and went back to thinking about what to do.
Time passed very slowly for the group present as they waited for Jiang Yun to speak. Every moment felt agonizing, as at any moment, with just one action of Jiang Yun, it would be the last moment they will ever experience.
Some prayed the most Jiang Yun would do was kill them, as they knew they wouldn’t get off easy for daring to attack such a powerful person. For a person of such power, it would be easy to stop someone from killing themselves and instead inflict unimaginable pain before finally killing someone.
So all those present could only wait as they all had their own thoughts at the current dangerous situation.
Time went by even more without Jiang Yun responding, and with each moment, their fear increased. In this time, Jiang Yun has been constantly comparing the pros and cons of keeping this group alive but could come up with a final decision.
After much debate inside his head, he finally came to a conclusion. He might as well kill them. After all, with so few left, what kind of help to the lower realm could they possibly provide? It wouldn’t make a difference if they were alive or dead.
Also, if these people died, it would be a giant deterrent to other sects at provoking people for no reason. The sects will forever have this lingering fear, thereby making his sect peaceful. This will also cause the number of arrogant young masters to decrease. Upon thinking of this, Jiang Yun immediately came to a consensus, as he truly hated arrogant young masters. These kinds of people have messed with him far too much, and he hated these kinds of people.
Jiang Yun finally started to move, and the people present could only hold their breaths, hoping for the best. In the next moment, Jiang Yun waved his hand, and a giant air blade was formed that stretched far enough to cut down everyone present. In an instant, everyone present died, not even knowing that they were already dead.
Jiang Yun was then finally satisfied at the result, as massive amounts of bodies dropped onto the ground, turning the forest into a sea of blood.
Jiang Yun, too lazy to clean it up, let nature do its thing and clean it up itself. He then went back to his sect to enjoy the peace that was coming to come next.
