But no matter how hard he tried, he simply couldn’t calm down.
Kaxiu was unlike most female Zergs who were disturbingly obsessed with males. Even though Gu Lin was an A-grade male, he didn’t hold much natural attraction for Kaxiu. His passion for mechas far outweighed any interest he might have had in males.

This was a new feature that had developed after the system’s last upgrade, it could now control not only surveillance devices and other pieces of technology, but also link with low-intelligence service robots, turning them into its obedient little helpers.
Once given a command, the robot would automatically carry out the task without supervision. If anything unusual happened, it would report back right away.
And in its simple robotic eyes, the figure standing stiffly at the door was exactly that, an anomaly.
The system, which had been deep in study inside its internal space, received the alert and immediately yanked itself out.
The food, naturally, was something it had ordered for its host. It still remembered vividly how its host had suffered last time he skipped a meal.
Only now did it realize that in its eagerness, it had forgotten to inform Gu Lin in advance.
Taking over the robot’s body, the system soon saw the scene in front of Gu Lin’s door, the tall Kaxiu standing there like a sentry.

Only, when the door really opened and he was faced with Gu Lin directly, all that concern turned into awkwardness.
Especially after Gu Lin’s question, embarrassment spread all the way to the tips of his antennae.
Unlike other female Zergs, Kaxiu had never been interested in males. He rarely went on the popular relationship forums, and most of his life had been filled with mecha training and mechanical theory.
Back in the army, many females had called him strange, someone who never joined in their gossip about males and cared only for his machines.
Some believed he was just shy. Others said he was ambitious and wanted to earn a male partner through military merit instead of courtship.
The truth was, he was indeed a little shy, but mostly, he was simply uninterested.
He had never interacted closely with a male before and had no idea how to handle such situations.
Now, standing there with Gu Lin staring at him, he found himself completely speechless.

Flustered, Kaxiu stepped aside at once, making way for the robot to wheel in the cart. Yet even after doing so, he remained awkwardly at the threshold, as if unsure whether he was allowed to cross it.
Gu Lin silently pressed his fingers to his temple.
The system, meanwhile, was laughing uncontrollably in his head. 【This Zerg is way too funny!】
Gu Lin couldn’t deny it. He found himself both exasperated and faintly amused.
Although he had inherited the original body’s memories, those memories offered him little understanding of female Zergs.
And Kaxiu clearly wasn’t like the others. Gu Lin could tell easily that this one’s feelings toward males were nothing like the usual obsessive devotion of his kind.
And for that reason, perhaps because of it, Gu Lin found this unusual female rather intriguing.
