Gu Lin glanced at the little robot whose voice was perfectly synced with the system and sighed helplessly. It seemed that while he had been reading the original owner’s memories, the system had picked up a very useful skill.

A skill that, unfortunately, it insisted on using to warn him about the very thing he was about to face. He could’ve done without that.

After a quick wash, Gu Lin moved to the windowsill. The system-controlled little robot flitted over in an almost obsequious manner, projecting a detailed overview of Kaxiu and his companions for him to see.Full novel: After Becoming Villain Male Zerg, I Turned Into Crowd Favourite — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

【Well done.】Gu Lin’s straightforward compliment made the system beam with joy. The robot it controlled cocked its “head” and blinked its mechanical eyes, excitement practically radiating from its movements.

The projection revealed three female Zerg standing in a neat line.

Among Zerg, physical appearance correlated closely with rank. Any female above C-class could rightfully be called attractive. Each of the three females had her own distinctive traits, yet Gu Lin’s gaze landed squarely on Kaxiu.

The golden-haired female was dressed in a military uniform, her figure poised and elegant. Even standing still, she radiated a subtle force that seemed almost magical, drawing attention like a magnet.

At this point, the system began to introduce the three females, and Gu Lin learned their identities.

However, he had no intention of meeting Kaxiu directly just yet.

After reading through the original owner’s memories, Gu Lin had gained a far deeper understanding of the near-divine status of male Zerg. An A-class male was practically at the very top of the food chain.

Given the original owner’s personality, if he had been randomly assigned a female servant, he would hardly have treated her kindly. In fact, merely sparing her life would have been generous.

And Gu Lin, now in the role of the “villain” in the story, had to remember that he was only meant to highlight the protagonist’s kindness and goodness.

If he treated other Zerg as mercifully as the story’s protagonist did, the word would spread, and his future point accumulation would be severely limited.

Still, he had already begun plotting how to handle the situation. It might mean inconveniencing Kaxiu for a while… at least temporarily.

【Host, your breakfast.】

A small robot arrived, holding a steaming tray of food.

The system had carefully chosen the meal according to the most reliable nutritional guidelines from the interstellar network, balanced, healthy, and completely safe.

Gu Lin ate a hearty breakfast, letting himself enjoy it.

After finishing, he glanced at the time. It was about right. He sent the little robot off to fetch Kaxiu.

Outside the door, Kaxiu and his companions waited quietly. Not a word was spoken during the wait.

Of course, they weren’t annoyed at having to wait for a high-ranking male. In their education, the process of awaiting a male Zerg was something to be cherished, a delightful anticipation.

The three of them, especially Josen, seemed wrapped in a palpable aura of excitement. If he had a tail, it would likely be waving in wide, happy arcs.

Kohl’s expression remained calm, almost detached, but a careful observer would notice his hands tremble slightly, evidence that his mind was far from serene.

The most composed of all, surprisingly, was Kaxiu himself.

He had no illusions about the outcome. First, he was a Zerg with nothing. He held no official position in the military, and all upward mobility in his path had been blocked.

Second, he was impoverished, with virtually no savings, every coin he had earned had gone toward purchasing specialized spiritual-stabilizing potions for A-class females.

Most other A-class female Zerg never worried about running out of such potions. The military allocated a certain amount to high-ranking officers.

Zerg like Kaxiu, stuck in minor, low-level posts, were rare. Being away from the military meant having to spend far more credits to buy even a single potion. That was how Kaxiu’s meager wealth had been gradually exhausted.

Even if he were to find a male master now, it was unlikely he would be valued.

At best, he would be sent to some remote corner of the male’s estate, quietly living out the rest of his days in obscurity.

If luck abandoned him entirely, he might be cast out to a barren star for his madness, the lack of stabilizing potions pushing him over the edge. And if he angered the male… he might not even survive to see such a fate.

The very idea of a male Zerg personally soothing his spiritual energy? Kaxiu had never even dreamed of such a possibility.

Back in the Fourth Legion, he had once offended a powerful figure. He had long suspected what his future allocation might be, preparing himself mentally for it.

He assumed that when he got older and his savings had run out, he would simply be tossed to some C-class male and left to struggle through life. Painful, yes, but survivable.

But now, he had been matched with Gu Lin.

He had heard of Gu Lin’s reputation. Among males with poor temperaments, Gu Lin ranked as one of the worst. Numerous females had suffered at his hands.

Even S-class female Zerg, like Marshal Hicks, had faced trouble at his command, let alone ordinary females.

Kaxiu looked at the grandiose estate before him.

He had no idea how long he would survive after stepping through those doors.

*Creak*

The heavy main gate slowly swung open, and a round-headed, adorably plump little robot waddled out from the estate.

Gu Lin looked at the three female Zerg waiting outside the gate. The little robot lifted its small head, exuding an air of authority mixed with a hint of cuteness.

“You can leave him here now.” The robot’s voice was surprisingly sweet, almost like a child’s, “And don’t forget to check later who was the idiot that arranged this assignment. Make sure they’re careful next time!”

“Follow me.” The robot gestured toward Kaxiu, who was still standing there in a daze.

Then, without another word, it turned and left, its small form vanishing from sight.

Kaxiu stepped through the gate. Just before fully entering, he glanced back at the sky behind him, took a deep breath, and silently walked in.

Once Kaxiu had gone, the two females left outside exchanged uncertain looks.

Inside, Gu Lin had been observing the three females’ reactions the entire time. He straightened in his seat.

Being left standing for so long, without having even glimpsed the male Zerg, surely the two remaining females would feel at least a twinge of dissatisfaction.

According to the Zerg logic he had inherited, female Zerg possessed extraordinary patience when it came to males. As long as they caught even a single glimpse of the male they desired, even for a fleeting moment, they would be immensely satisfied.

Gu Lin chose not to appear personally and let the little robot handle the reception. He wanted to see whether disappointment would cause the females’ favor to drop.

“Kohl, did you see that? That little robot is so cute! A prince who likes little robots like this must be a good Zerg!” Josen grinned at his normally reserved companion like a jubilant puppy.

The normally composed Kohl quickly nodded in agreement, his expression betraying genuine approval.

For the moment, the two of them seemed to have set aside their previous tension, caught up in excitement.

Gu Lin: ……

After a moment of silence, he quietly poked the system.

【Did their favorability toward me drop?】

【Not at all. Josen’s favorability +20, Kohl’s +25. Their base favorability toward you was 60, host. Congratulations, you’ve taken another step toward the “Beloved by All” achievement!】

Gu Lin: ……

Female Zerg truly were the epitome of consistent behavior.

So… the stories in the original owner’s memories, where female Zerg were humiliated and yet later pursued the male obsessively, were real?

If that was really the case, how was he supposed to play the villain?

Gu Lin felt a headache forming. He just wanted to be a villain, and yet… why was being a villain so complicated? Thankfully, these were all contingency plans; failure in one approach wasn’t fatal.

According to the story, the protagonist would soon cross over into the Zerg world.

The system had also mentioned that special system missions would appear at that time. Completing them would earn a large number of points.

As expected, the core responsibility of a villain was to confront the protagonist head-on.

Thinking this through, Gu Lin got up and headed toward the training room.

The system was confused. 【Host, what are you doing over there?】

【Of course, I’m going to improve my strength!】Gu Lin answered matter-of-factly.

The system hesitated. Wasn’t the host’s main goal supposed to be grinding points frantically? Why suddenly focus on strength?

【I’m afraid I’ll get beaten up if I go out.】Gu Lin said. 【Especially afraid of the protagonist’s harem group.】

The system paused. Considering the protagonist’s overpowered status, countless pursuers, and now looking at its host, weak, defenseless, and with a physical report so ridiculous it made even the system want to facepalm.

It hesitated before carefully instructing the little robot to pat Gu Lin’s shoulder.

【You’ve got this!】

Just as the system finished speaking, its host almost dodged the little robot’s “pat.”

Confused, the system listened as Gu Lin muttered in exasperation:

【Are you trying to murder your host with that strength?!】

The system realized it had nearly caused a disaster. The little robot lowered its head, the large eyes on its display blinking apologetically.

Gu Lin didn’t bother arguing with the little system and continued toward the training room.

He had only taken a few steps when another system-controlled little robot appeared, bringing Kaxiu in from a different path.

Due to the angle, Kaxiu hadn’t seen Gu Lin leave, but even an A-class female Zerg’s keen senses could detect that the master of the estate had just departed.

His future male master hadn’t even glanced at him before leaving.

Kaxiu paused, unsure whether to feel slightly relieved or disappointed.

As a female Zerg, who hadn’t fantasized about marrying a male they admired and who treated them kindly?

But in reality, most males didn’t care about the female’s feelings. They were proud, selfish, and dismissive of all else.

Most males found females beneath them. They treated them with cruelty and, at the first sign of madness, would abandon them without hesitation.

Kaxiu was no longer the naive Zerg of his youth, blindly favoring males. His feelings flickered for only a moment before he firmly suppressed them.

For him, attracting no attention was the best outcome.

Following the little robot, Kaxiu walked through the long corridor and stopped in the most remote corner, in front of a room.

“You’ll live here from now on.”

The little robot spoke, and the door automatically slid open. After giving Kaxiu a proud, commanding look, it turned and left without another word.

Kaxiu froze. Was that it?

No rules explained, no assets confiscated, and not even a monitoring bracelet for his status as a female servant…

He stared after the little robot, filled with confusion.

This was… nothing like what he had imagined.

The little system is cute 😂 imagine if he had hit Gu Lin? How would he explain his authority that reason his mission failed because he pat his host to death? 🤣
