“Yao Yao, let’s break up!”

Chen Dong spoke as if he had steeled his heart.

The expectant smile on Lin Yao’s face froze instantly at that moment. She had thought Chen Dong had asked her out today to propose, but she never expected to be met with his breakup instead.Full novel: After Being Dumped by the Scumbag, I Flash Married the Richest Man — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“What did you say?”

“I said, let’s break up! Yao Yao!”

Chen Dong repeated his words, only this time he didn’t dare look at Lin Yao as he spoke, afraid that if he looked at her, he wouldn’t be able to say it.

“Why? Why do you want to break up with me? Are you joking with me?!”

“You must be joking, right?!”

Lin Yao couldn’t believe that her boyfriend of five years would say such a thing to her. Unable to accept it, she kept questioning him, tears streaming down her face.

“I’m sorry, Yao Yao. I’ve fallen for someone else, so let’s part on good terms, okay?”

Chen Dong’s gentle words pierced Lin Yao’s heart like a knife, leaving her completely frozen.

“I don’t believe it! You must be lying to me!”

As if he had anticipated Lin Yao’s reaction, Chen Dong waved his hand behind him.

A woman with a great figure walked out and stood beside him, looking provocatively at Lin Yao before turning her head and passionately kissing Chen Dong right in front of her.

“Now, do you believe it?”

Lin Yao was stunned, standing there motionless as she watched the two of them.

She couldn’t understand how someone who had tenderly said just days ago that he would only love her for the rest of his life could change his heart so quickly in such a short time.

It had only been a few days. How could this happen?

Was she truly unworthy of being loved?

“Chen Dong! What are you doing! How dare you betray Lin Yao! You scumbag!”

“I never thought you were such a despicable person! I really misjudged you back then!”

“How dare you betray our Yao Yao! I curse you to have no descendants!”

Jia Chen had received a call from Lin Yao saying that Chen Dong might propose to her today and asked her to come witness her happy moment.

Delayed by traffic on the way, she arrived just in time to see this scene and her tearful friend. She immediately started cursing.

……

“Jia Jia, why do you think someone could change their heart in just a few short days?”

“Why exactly?”

Jia Chen knew Lin Yao was heartbroken, so after leaving the restaurant, she took Lin Yao to her favorite bar to drink, hoping to help her temporarily forget her sorrows.

But she hadn’t expected that even in her drunken stupor, Lin Yao was still thinking about Chen Dong. She couldn’t help but sigh—after all, it was a five-year relationship.

“It’s okay, Yao Yao. There are plenty of men in the world! We can’t let ourselves get hung up on just one tree. Chen Dong will definitely regret losing you!”

“You’ll definitely meet someone better!”

Jia Chen comforted Lin Yao, hoping she wouldn’t be so sad anymore.

“But Chen Dong was the best person to me! No one was better than Chen Dong!”

Lin Yao said these words through tear-blurred eyes, then hugged Jia Chen and cried bitterly in her arms.

“What’s so good about him! If he were really good, he wouldn’t have cheated and betrayed you!”

“I bet he’s been with that woman for a while now!”

“And here you are still thinking he’s a good person!”

After angrily blurting out these words, Jia Chen suddenly realized what she had said and quickly apologized to Lin Yao.

Inside the bar’s private room,

“You finally decided to come back from abroad! I thought you’d never return to China to develop your career!”

Zhu Yuhang teased Huo Boyan, who sat expressionless in the middle of the crowd.

In the capital city, everyone knew the Huo family. Old Master Huo was the wealthiest man, and not only that—he had three sons. The eldest son had died in a car accident years ago, the second son was the police chief, and the third son was the mayor. Who wouldn’t want to get close to such a wealthy and influential family?

Huo Boyan was the son of the eldest son and Old Master Huo’s most beloved grandson. Rumor had it that he had been called back from abroad to take over the company! Though it was just hearsay, it was likely true. After all, Huo Boyan had gone abroad for high school and hadn’t returned for years. Now that Old Master Huo was getting older and had called him back, everyone knew what that meant.

So, everyone present hoped to build a good relationship with Huo Boyan, hoping to make money with him in the future.

Huo Boyan had left the country early and kept a very low profile. Only his close friends had ever seen him. Many in the capital’s social circles had only heard of him, but seeing him today, they couldn’t help but marvel—no wonder he was the son of a movie queen. He had fully inherited her looks: tall, handsome, with a high-bridged nose and slightly upturned eyes that gave him an air of nobility, making him seem unapproachable.

“I didn’t want to come back either, but the old man insisted. He even plans to arrange a marriage for me,” Huo Boyan said, his handsome face filled with resignation at his friend’s words.

Shen Kaicheng, sitting nearby, couldn’t help but gloat, “I never thought you’d be forced into something like this one day!”

Xie Mingzhe picked up a glass of wine and shoved it into Huo Boyan’s hand. “Exactly! It’s been so long since we’ve seen you. Now that you’re finally back, you have to drink with us tonight!”

“Hey, enough of that! Today is your welcome-back party—you should enjoy yourself!” Zhu Yuhang said, clapping his hands. Soon, a group of men and women walked in through the door.

In the bar booth, Lin Yao was feeling dizzy from drinking. When she turned around, she realized Jia Chen was gone. Shaking her head, she remembered that Jia Chen had said she saw an acquaintance and asked Lin Yao to wait there for her. But now Lin Yao needed to use the restroom—why was Jia Chen taking so long?

Lin Yao didn’t want to wait any longer. She staggered alone toward the restroom and, after finishing, went back to look for Jia Chen. But no matter where she walked, she couldn’t find the spot they’d been at earlier. After a while, she realized she was lost. She tried to retrace her steps, but she couldn’t remember the way back, so she wandered aimlessly.

Turning a corner, she bumped into a man. In her dazed state, Lin Yao only noticed how unusually warm the person in front of her felt.

“Let go!”

The tall man in front of her snapped. Anyone with a clear mind would have let go immediately, but Lin Yao instead spread her arms and hugged him, mumbling, “No, you feel so comfortable to hold.”

Little did Lin Yao know what trouble her words would bring.

Gritting his teeth and struggling to stay conscious, Huo Boyan looked at the woman clinging to him and demanded, “Did you drug me?!” His tone was firm, as if he were already certain Lin Yao was the one who had drugged him.

Any woman who knows Huo Boyan’s identity wants nothing more than to climb into his bed—he has seen far too many of them.

So naturally, he assumed Lin Yao was just another one of them.

Lin Yao hadn’t heard a word Huo Boyan said.

She only felt that the person she was holding was warm and comfortable, so she buried her head in his chest and kissed it, as if embracing something she cherished.

Feeling the soft touch on his body, Huo Boyan could no longer hold back. With a dark expression, he said,

“Since you want it so badly, I’ll grant your wish! Just don’t regret it later.”
