Jiang Chuying had just taken her medicine and was lying down when she saw her mother strutting in on high heels, swaying gracefully with every step, holding a jar of cheap canned food, smiling as she entered.
“Who are you looking for?” Yang Peiqin had no memory of Mu Jinchun.
But looking at her face, there was something strangely familiar about her!
Seeing Mu Jinchun greet her mother so warmly made Jiang Chuying’s heart tighten painfully.
“Hello, sister-in-law. I’m Jiang Ge’s friend just call me Xiao Mu!
I heard Yingying wasn’t feeling well and was in the hospital, and I happened to be passing by, so I came to check on her,” Mu Jinchun said, smiling as she handed over the jar.
Hearing that she was a friend of Jiang Nanshan, Yang Peiqin naturally didn’t dare be disrespectful. Mu!
She immediately thought of the “Auntie Mu” her youngest daughter had mentioned that day this must be the woman in front of her.
“Hello, Aunt Mu,” Jiang Chuying obediently greeted, unsure of what her mother’s intentions were.
Mu Jinchun said she came to see Jiang Chuying, but once seated, she kept chatting with Yang Peiqin. After a while, Yang Peiqin realized this woman was actually two years older than herself.
Yet with her glamorous appearance and well-maintained figure, she looked far younger.
Especially her hands there was no comparison.
After some small talk, Mu Jinchun suggested she’d come over for meals sometime, then left.
Not once did she spare a glance for her biological daughter.
Jiang Chuying felt like vomiting. Her mother over all these years, while she wasn’t around had clearly been living quite comfortably!
Meanwhile, Jiang Chuyao went to school during the day and spent evenings studying the dance hall bar operations.
As for the troublemakers outside school, she either didn’t run into them or cleverly avoided them she always managed to stay a step ahead.
That day, the teacher ran overtime, so by the time school ended, only their class was scattered, leaving the campus.
At that moment, the group of fierce-looking girls blocked Jiang Chuyao’s way.
“Jiang Chuyao!” Their voices were loud and piercing.
“Grandma’s here!” Since they had recognized her, there was no need to pretend.
“So it’s you!” The leader of the girls gagged at the sight. They had been trying to block her every day, but not only did they fail, Jiang Chuyao had effortlessly escaped right under their noses completely unaware.
If they hadn’t done some reconnaissance today, they wouldn’t have known the truth.
“Come on, we need to talk,” the leader said, draping her arm over Jiang Chuyao’s shoulder and dragging her into a nearby alley before she could react.
Her calmness took them by surprise.
Had she given up because she knew resistance was futile?
“Go ahead, who sent you?” Jiang Chuyao had observed them a few times secretly. She knew they had little connection to the school and couldn’t guess whose people they were.
“You want to know?” The girl pulled a cigarette from her pocket, lit it, and inhaled deeply.
Then she blew the smoke straight into Jiang Chuyao’s face.
“Cough cough…” Jiang Chuyao could tell just by the smell it wasn’t any fancy brand.
And she was puffing away like it was a delight!
Never seen anything like it!
A mocking smile crept onto Jiang Chuyao’s lips.
“Hey, what are you laughing at?” The girl smoked impatiently, clearly irritated by Jiang Chuyao’s obvious derision.
She thought if Jiang Chuyao begged, she might get off easier. But with that insolent attitude, she wouldn’t get any mercy.
“You laugh, but in your whole life, you’ll never have even two decent meals. And yet you puff away at that low-quality cigarette like it’s the best thing ever!” Jiang Chuyao said bluntly.
“You’re asking for death!” One girl lunged forward to hit her.
“Truthful advice may be hard to hear, but it helps. Girls should take care of themselves, or in the future, it’s easy to be tricked away,” Jiang Chuyao said earnestly.
The three girls stared at her as if she were crazy.
Was she insane?
“Attack!” The leader raised her hand, and the other two rushed forward.
Normally, girls fight by scratching faces, pulling hair, or riding on each other. Some even play dirty.
They thought they’d catch her weak spots but in reality, inexperience made them easy to counter.
Although Jiang Chuyao hadn’t trained much recently, using skills from her previous life, dealing with two inexperienced girls was effortless.
Just as they expected her to be a frail little rabbit, she threw each of them over her shoulder and slammed them to the ground.
The girl with the cigarette dropped it in shock.
She quickly regained her composure and swung her fists.
Expecting her to be as weak as the other two on the ground, she was surprised Jiang Chuyao was clearly trained and could fight.
Moreover, she was ruthless.
The girl hit Jiang Chuyao’s mouth, drawing blood.
Jiang Chuyao touched her bleeding lip and smiled.
Then she counterattacked. If there was one thing Jiang Chuyao had over them, it was sheer ferocity she fought without mercy.
The girls were intimidated. One was kicked in the stomach, stumbling back two steps.
Since Jiang Chuyao hadn’t exercised regularly, her kick wasn’t that strong the pain was tolerable.
This alley was usually avoided by neighbors because of fights, so no one came to watch.
“Let me hit you once, and we’ll call it even,” the girl rubbed her stomach and said.
“Fine. One hit, and it’s over. Otherwise, next time I see you, I’ll hit you again.” Jiang Chuyao scoffed everyone can pretend!
The girls realized today’s fight wouldn’t end easily. They attacked again, but this time Jiang Chuyao had set a trap. While they weren’t paying attention, she maneuvered behind one of them and wrapped a rope around her, tying a perfect butterfly knot.
Beautiful!
The two girls who had been wailing were too scared to interfere. Jiang Chuyao’s gaze alone was enough to keep them back.
