Jiang Wanyin, head bowed and nodding like a chick pecking at rice, had no idea that the other three men at the table wore remarkably expressive looks, all teasing Shen Ci with their eyes.

After eating for a while, everyone felt somewhat full, and their movements slowed as they began to chat casually.

Chen Li said lazily, “I heard from Old Wu that the Mufeng Construction downstairs quoted a very low price.”Full novel: After Being Scammed, She Accidentally Stumbled Into the Big Shots’ Den and Was Fiercely Competed For — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Jiang Wanyin quietly perked up her ears. This Mr. Chen also ran a construction company?

President Shen let out a laugh, carrying a dismissive tone: “Is that so? How much capital does he have to play with us?”

That was such an arrogant statement. If another man had said it, it would have been bragging, but coming from the big shot Shen, Jiang Wanyin believed he truly had plenty of capital.

“Let’s buy up the 71st floor of Tiandu Tower as well. Once Brother Ci’s side comes in, expanding Longye won’t be a problem.”

Buy it? How much would that cost?

Jiang Wanyin looked up in surprise at President Pei, who had just poured himself another glass of wine.

Tiandu Tower was an office building in the heart of the Magic City—one floor alone would cost tens of millions, right?

These men all looked so young, and so handsome too, truly…

Before Jiang Wanyin could finish her sigh, Shen Ci tapped the armrest idly and said, “I’ve considered two locations for the bank and am currently in negotiations.”

Bank? President Shen was going to open a bank in Huaxia?

“Lucien, why don’t you open your bank in the Oran Tower? Later, move Asian Deep Investments upstairs too—how convenient.”

Chen Li lit another cigarette.

Jiang Wanyin suppressed her shock, only now realizing that this golden-haired handsome man was apparently no ordinary foreign rich second-generation.

Then Mr. Chen’s next words shocked her again.

Chen Li suggested, “There are still many connections and relationships to work on here, and other steps can’t be skipped either. How about this—tomorrow night I’ll introduce a few new friends for you. Zhouzi, you arrange for a few more actresses to come.”

Pei Zhou raised an eyebrow: “Sure. There are a few up-and-coming ones lately who aren’t bad.”

Feng Ziyan raised an eyebrow: “Hey, Brother Zhou, the actresses you sent last time weren’t up to par. My uncle didn’t even shake hands and left.”

Pei Zhou snorted: “That’s because your uncle’s thinking is too old-fashioned.”

It seemed she had overheard some major inside scoop.

And President Pei’s tone suggested he could casually summon celebrities, implying he was no small figure either.

Jiang Wanyin tried hard to shrink her presence. She had received too many shocks today.

From their conversation, she gathered that the four of them had co-founded a construction company, much larger than the Jiamu Construction where she worked.

They took on billion-yuan mega projects.

After a meal that broadened her horizons, Shen Ci and Jiang Wanyin moved to the tea table. She opened her laptop and pulled up the 3D drawings for him to review.

“These revisions are all well done. Isn’t this spot supposed to have a decorative piece?”

A pale, slender hand vaguely pointed at the screen.

Jiang Wanyin stared at those artwork-like fingers, her heart screaming “wow” over and over.

She had drawn over a dozen pages of short comic stories, and crafting stunning male and female leads was one of her greatest hobbies.

Now, reality was telling her that someone could be even more perfect than the people in her drawings.

“Yes, but I haven’t found the right one yet.”

The two discussed what kind of decorative piece would be suitable, while the three men gathered by the window in the distance began exchanging knowing glances.

Chen Li lowered his voice: “What’s going on with Lucien? Since when does a villa that only uses template decoration need his personal attention? And he even brought her here in front of us.”

Feng Ziyan grinned. “Brother Li, aren’t you asking the obvious? It’s so clear that only that naive young lady wouldn’t notice.”

“She has a decent figure, but nothing else particularly special about her?”

Chen Li naturally understood the look Shen Ci gave when he was eyeing a woman, but the fact that Shen Ci had finally taken an interest in someone for the first time was surprising—and the person he’d set his sights on was completely unexpected.

International celebrities and heiresses from chaebol families had all pursued Shen Ci, yet the man had remained unmoved, staying single until the age of twenty-eight.

If it weren’t for the fact that Shen Ci had beaten up the men who’d pursued him back in his school days, Chen Li would have worried about his and Pei Zhou’s virtue.

“Sometimes you shouldn’t judge people by appearances. For all you know, she might be thinking to herself that Brother Ci is a pervert.”

Pei Zhou swirled his glass and glanced over at the tea table a few times before speaking calmly.

Hearing this, Chen Li took another careful look and spotted the tell.

Sure enough, whenever Shen Ci raised his hand, that woman would subtly lean back. Her expression remained composed, but her evasive eyes betrayed her true feelings.

The “ultimate weapon” had met a “cold customer.”

Once a man’s desire to conquer was ignited, he wouldn’t easily admit defeat—especially a man like Shen Ci, who appeared gentle on the surface but was in truth extremely proud.

The days ahead were bound to be interesting.

The facts proved Chen Li right. Every few days, Shen Ci would invite the woman over, pointing out a few areas that needed revision.

With his experience designing houses abroad, he was more than qualified to guide this fledgling designer. She gained professional improvement and was eager to learn even more.

A masterful game of boiling the frog slowly—even the most wary little creature would be tamed.

Within half a month, the female designer had become familiar with all of them, yet she still knew how to maintain a sense of distance.

Pei Zhou, following Shen Ci’s instructions, also signed a renovation contract for his villa with her.

Once, while discussing a design plan with Jiang Wanyin, Pei Zhou merely placed a hand on her shoulder, and she nearly performed a sliding dodge to evade him.

At that point, it wasn’t just Shen Ci—all three of them, Pei Zhou included, had developed an interest in teasing her.

They wanted to know how she could still look at them with such clear eyes despite being under this kind of “siege.”

They wanted to see where her limits lay.

Pei Zhou, equally inexperienced in romance, didn’t realize that a man’s curiosity about a woman was the beginning of falling for her.

Jiang Wanyin knew none of this. All she knew was that she was running around reporting to clients, and her transportation costs had gone up significantly.

This forced her to bring the matter up with her boss, Zhou Hai—after all, a working person cared deeply about work-related expenses.

Jiang Wanyin took the opportunity of reporting to Zhou Hai about signing the villa renovation contracts with Mr. Chen and Mr. Pei to mention how elusive these clients’ whereabouts were.

Perhaps because Jiang Wanyin had secured two more villa projects, Zhou Hai directly transferred twenty thousand yuan to her.

“Consider this extra reimbursement for your transportation and travel expenses. Thanks for your hard work.”

Jiang Wanyin didn’t stand on ceremony at all and tapped to accept. “Got it, thank you, President Zhou!”

She immediately sent fifteen thousand yuan to her mother via WeChat. “Mom, I just got a bonus. Use it for little sister’s tuition.”

President Shen really was a golden man! She hoped he could introduce more clients to her.
