It is a very common thing for couples to share a bedroom, so as Fang Yize and Jiang Xule lay in bed tonight, both were somewhat nervous. Their bodies were stretched stiff, looking very much like two slightly deceased corpses.
The bedroom was filled with Fang Yize’s scent. Breathing in this fragrance, Jiang Xule went from being tense to relaxed, and eventually drifted off into dreamland.
Because of her initial nervousness, she hadn’t pulled much of the blanket over herself; sleeping on the edge, she was only covered by a single corner.
Fang Yize was much more excited than her. She hadn’t expected that kiss in the living room herself, and she still hadn’t quite recovered from it; the corners of her mouth would still unconsciously turn upward whenever she thought back on it.
Only when she heard Jiang Xule’s breathing become even and steady did she dare turn her head to look at her. A sliver of white light from outside peeked through the curtains, allowing her to see the blurred profile of Jiang Xule’s face.
Fang Yize lay on her side, propped up by her arms, tirelessly admiring Jiang Xule’s profile for a long while. When she felt the temperature drop significantly due to the air conditioning late at night, she realized that Jiang Xule was only covered by a corner of the quilt.
Thus, she carefully supported herself with her palm on the bed, pulled the blanket toward Jiang Xule’s side, and when she lay back down, she specifically moved two steps closer to Jiang Xule, stopping only when she could feel the warmth of the person beside her.
This night’s sleep was incredibly sweet.
Due to the 7:00 AM morning study session, Fang Yize had to get up at 6:30 AM. In the summer, the sky brightened early, and since the curtains weren’t particularly good at blocking light, the bedroom was already half-lit.
Fang Yize crept out of bed, not daring to make a sound as she walked out of the bedroom.
In reality, even if she had walked normally, nothing would have happened. The environment Jiang Xule lived in before couldn’t even be described as “noisy”—she could sleep like the dead regardless. Therefore, the mere sound of bottles and jars clinking wouldn’t affect her sleep at all.
Moreover, sleeping on a 1.8-meter king-sized bed with a mattress worth tens of thousands of dollars and bedding made of top-tier, skin-friendly materials—coupled with a perfectly set air conditioning temperature—made for an ideal sleeping environment.
Unless she woke up naturally, she wouldn’t easily wake even if several peals of thunder rolled by or gongs and drums were beaten.
Because Fang Yize was making two portions of breakfast today, she didn’t have time to put on makeup. Fortunately, she was in good spirits today; she hurriedly went to the cloakroom to change clothes and then headed out.
the joy of being in love was written all over her face. After arriving at school, she greeted the students’ post-weekend sluggishness with a beaming smile.
When Jiang Xule woke up naturally, it was 10:30 in the morning. She was startled when she opened her eyes and saw the somewhat unfamiliar environment, sitting up abruptly in bed.
After all, it was her first time waking up here, so it was normal not to adjust immediately. Soon, the memories of last night loaded in her brain, and she finally relaxed.
10:30 AM—a wake-up time that had never occurred before. But now, she had freed her hands; she could be a penned-up lamb.
She went out of the room to freshen up. She originally intended to go out for breakfast, but when she picked up her phone, she found a message from Fang Yize telling her that breakfast was in the microwave.
When she walked into the kitchen and looked, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
If you can’t do it, don’t force it. Is there any need for a Young Lady to establish a “virtuous wife” persona for herself?
The bread toasted in the toaster was burnt to a crisp; the eggs fried in a non-stick pan were blackened on both sides; even the sausages cooked in the air fryer were overdone.
As for the milk in the fridge… it was expired.
Not just the milk—some of the mineral water Fang Yize had stockpiled inside was also expired.
When Fang Yize took things, she habitually grabbed what was on the outside. Seeing the fridge looking a bit empty, she would go out and buy a large amount of mineral water, meaning the ones in the back were never reached.
Furthermore, when she came home from work thirsty, she would buy a bottle at a convenience store for emergencies; her opportunities to drink water at home were few.
Jiang Xule couldn’t quite understand this behavior of the Young Lady. Even if one is rich, one shouldn’t be so wasteful, right?
So, she scraped off the black, burnt parts from the surface of the breakfast and managed to finish it all. Then, she hauled out the mineral water from the innermost layer of the fridge that had been expired for six months.
She originally wanted to get a bucket from the bathroom, but there was only a basin for washing underwear; there wasn’t a trace of a bucket to be found.
She wandered around the house for a good while before finally discovering a wooden foot-soaking tub abandoned by Fang Yize in a corner—one that even had a sole massager.
She simply rinsed off the dust with clean water, then poured all the expired mineral water into the foot tub to use for flushing the toilet.
Fang Yize did have a specific place for storing empty bottles, but Jiang Xule didn’t understand why she also had the habit of saving bottles—an entire box full of them.
She originally thought about selling them for her, but considering the Young Lady didn’t lack money and probably wasn’t keeping them for the cash, she let it be.
At 12:00 PM, just as Jiang Xule was preparing to head home, she received a phone call from Fang Yize.
“Are you awake, baby?” Fang Yize’s environment was very quiet, but distinct birdsong could be heard.
Jiang Xule paused for two seconds before replying, “I’m getting ready to go home.”
“Home? Why go home?”
“We agreed on staying for only one night.”
“Mm~ don’t,” Fang Yize said coaxingly. “You probably haven’t eaten yet at this time, right baby? I just finished work. Wait for me, and let’s go eat together, okay?”
Jiang Xule retracted her hand from the elevator button and nodded. “Where are we eating?”
Soon, the sound of Fang Yize’s laughter and the car engine starting could be heard. She said, “I’ll be there very soon. Just watch the time and wait for me at the community entrance.”
“Okay,” Jiang Xule was about to hang up, but then thought of something and tried to show some concern. “Drive carefully, stay safe.”
Heaven knows how much those words sweetened Fang Yize’s heart during the drive. Her speed increased unconsciously as she wanted to see her sooner, but she remained relatively obedient—driving carefully and staying safe.
When Fang Yize arrived at the community entrance, she saw Jiang Xule just walking out. She opened the car door to let her in and said, “My timing was perfect!”
“Yes,” Jiang Xule pursed her lips and smiled, though that wasn’t actually the case.
Jiang Xule was supposed to take the elevator right after the call, but she calculated the time it would take to get from No. 1 Middle School to her building, factoring in external variables like traffic. Since there wouldn’t be traffic at this hour, she would arrive at a normal speed.
She wandered in the hallway for quite a while, timing it so she took the elevator down at the last five minutes, which was how she “ran into” Fang Yize.
The two found a casual restaurant and ordered five dishes—four dishes and a soup. Both of them had relatively large appetites; it could have worked as two meals, or they could finish it in one.
Jiang Xule knew Fang Yize’s financial strength, so she didn’t stop her from ordering so much. She also knew her own “combat power”—even if Fang Yize couldn’t finish, she could clean up the rest.
In fact, except for half a pot of soup, all that remained were the seasoning sauces.
“Jiang Xule, I’ll drive you home in a bit. Why don’t you move all your things out and come live with me?” Fang Yize asked.
Jiang Xule hesitated upon hearing this. She had originally planned to smoke two cigarettes as soon as she left Fang Yize’s house; after all, she had held back all day yesterday. She thought that since she’d endured it for a day, she could wait through a meal and smoke once she got home.
But Fang Yize was actually asking her to move in.
Jiang Xule had it all planned out: after returning to her rental, she would look for local properties on her phone. With one million, she didn’t need a place as big as the one Fang Yize lived in; she could easily secure a large flat.
Combined with the money she had saved before for simple renovations, she could completely escape her current rental life.
Furthermore, if she spent the money early, Fang Yize wouldn’t be able to regret it—though from the look of things, it was impossible for her to regret it.
Fang Yize’s affection for Jiang Xule was simply too obvious.
“I might still need a little time.”
Fang Yize nodded. “It’s okay, you have plenty of time to pack, because it will take me a long time to pack my things when I get home from work, too.”
Hearing this, Jiang Xule asked in confusion, “What do you mean? Aren’t we going to your place? Why do you need to pack too?”
“The apartment I’m living in now is rented. For my eighteenth birthday, my dad gave me a villa. I was a bit scared living alone, so I never moved in, but now I have you to accompany me!”
What? A villa for an eighteenth birthday? Let’s speak Chinese.
Jiang Xule’s internal monologue: I was really out of line before! With what strength did I dare question the identity of the daughter of the richest man?
“Oh right, my mom gave me a Rolls-Royce exactly like the one you sat in yesterday. You can drive that one whenever you want to go out. It’s not convenient for me to drive such an exaggerated car to work at school; it just gathers dust in the garage anyway.”
Jiang Xule’s internal monologue: Young Lady, driving a Rolls-Royce Phantom to the places I usually frequent is even more exaggerated!
As if she could hear Jiang Xule’s inner thoughts, Fang Yize continued, “If you also think that car is too flashy, I’ll take you to pick out one you like next weekend, okay baby?”
Fang Yize’s eyes were bright with anticipation as she waited for Jiang Xule’s response. There was no boastfulness about wealth in those eyes, only admiration for her girlfriend.
The thought of being able to dress Jiang Xule up exquisitely in the future filled her with a sense of pride.
In Fang Yize’s circle of wealthy friends, using parents’ money to keep a “little beauty” was very common. However, Fang Yize was clearly more “authoritative” than them; even if her family went bankrupt, the money in her card would be more than enough to last a lifetime.
Becoming a teacher was purely out of interest—she just didn’t want to be too idle.
“Okay, you have the final say,” Jiang Xule once again readily accepted Fang Yize’s kindness.
Jiang Xule appeared very happy because she truly was happy. A life where she could just lie flat and enjoy herself was something she had dreamed of; clearly, her dream had come true.
She could sleep until she woke up naturally every day, buy whatever she wanted, and go wherever she pleased without worrying about time.
And every day, the person sleeping in the same bed as her was a fragrant little beauty, not some stinky uncle with a face full of stubble.
The taste of being kept by a Young Lady was simply too wonderful!
