“An’an, don’t go……”
Pei Chongxi curled up on the small sofa, her eyes closed as she fell into a deep nightmare.
Deep within the dream, she saw the small grove of trees from the first semester of her second year of high school. She saw the image of herself standing not far away, clutching a stone.
She watched all this from a third person perspective.
If I hadn’t noticed An Rong’s abnormality back then, if I hadn’t heard that call for help mixed into the evening breeze, what would have happened……
In the dream, tangled with countless terrible conjectures, Pei Chongxi trembled violently all over.
She might have seen a scene she never wished to see in her entire life.
Pei Chongxi had never had a nightmare like this before.
In those ten years, she had never met An Rong in a dream even once.
A nightmare like this was a first for Pei Chongxi, perhaps because life had been far too “happy” lately.
“Hey, wake up.”
Seeing that Pei Chongxi wasn’t waking up, An Rong was at a complete loss.
She patted both sides of Pei Chongxi’s cheeks with her palms.
“Sigh, if you don’t wake up, I’ll have to use the same method as last time.”
An Rong scratched her head, feeling that doing this wasn’t very moral. But no matter how she pushed her, Pei Chongxi just wouldn’t wake up, so there was no other choice.
With several sharp “slap, slap, slap” sounds, Pei Chongxi’s cheeks were slapped until they stung.
Her eyes, filled with confused mist, slowly fluttered open. What met her sight was An Rong’s concerned gaze, along with a guilt she couldn’t quite hide.
Using both hands, she had been slapped several times.
An Rong smiled sheepishly and said, “Why did you fall asleep lying on the sofa?”
Heavy rain had started falling outside at some point, and a muffled clap of thunder exploded.
An Rong quickly gathered Pei Chongxi into her arms, holding Pei Chongxi’s head like comforting a child. Disregarding how messy it made her hair, she rubbed her back and patted the back of her head all at once.
“Sister Pei, don’t be scared. The thunder will stop in a little while.”
Accompanied by a booming sound, An Rong kissed Pei Chongxi’s forehead, completely like comforting a little kid.
“I’m not afraid of thunder,” Pei Chongxi repeated.
The moment she said those words, she remembered the past image of burrowing under a blanket together with An Rong.
An Rong blinked her eyes and said, “Are you really not afraid of thunder?”
Pei Chongxi pressed her aching forehead, letting An Rong rub her hair.
“Fine, I’m still a little scared. I was just trying to act tough just now.”
“I knew it,” An Rong smiled brightly and radiantly.
She poured a glass of water for Pei Chongxi. “Drink some water. Don’t be scared anymore. What did you dream about just now? You kept calling my name.”
An Rong’s eyes were filled with worry.
Pei Chongxi grabbed the edge of the leather sofa with her hand, her lips pressed tight without saying a word.
An Rong knew that Pei Chongxi could be like a silent gourd at times, if there was something she didn’t want to say, she wouldn’t say it no matter how much you asked.
An Rong sighed and said, “Ah, what would you do without me?”
Pei Chongxi curved her eyes. Her fingers pressed onto An Rong’s waist, wickedly stroking and pinching it.
“That’s right, what would I do without our An’an?”
An Rong glared at her, but seeing that there was still unwiped cold sweat on this person’s face, looking utterly miserable yet clingy, she ultimately didn’t resist Pei Chongxi’s touch.
“Once you have a partner and kids in the future, you won’t be allowed to cling to me like this anymore.”
Pei Chongxi leaned lazily against the sofa. The darkness in her eyes faded significantly after looking at An Rong’s familiar face.
“What if I don’t get married or have kids in the future?”
An Rong’s eyes widened. “You have so much money, why wouldn’t you want kids?”
In old fashioned concepts, only people who lacked money and couldn’t get a wife or get married chose to stay single.
Pei Chongxi looked at An Rong with a smile.
An Rong felt goosebumps all over her body under her gaze.
“Sigh, whatever, whatever. Hurry up and go sleep.”
“An’an, come with me. You know I’m very scared of thunder.”
“Oh, okay.”
An Rong threw everything behind her, dutifully following behind Pei Chongxi.
She watched as Pei Chongxi unfastened her dress right within her field of vision, and then, under her gaze, walked into the shower stall.
Facing that lustrous, fair, and slightly pale skin, An Rong couldn’t move her eyes away for a long time.
Trickling hot water flowed from the showerhead above, and An Rong just stood there in front of the shower stall.
Perhaps because it was too beautiful, An Rong couldn’t look away.
Pei Chongxi rubbed body wash over her skin, as if spreading warm cream onto a soft cake base.
A lemon scent filled the air, mingling with the sound of the shower.
Pei Chongxi said, “So you want my body to be seen by others? To have another stranger shower with me?”
“Of course not.”
An Rong’s brows furrowed deeply. “You look so good, others will definitely take advantage of you. Can’t you have a little vigilance?”
“Is that so? Then it seems it’ll be very hard for me to find a stranger to marry and have kids with.”
This single sentence choked An Rong up completely. For a moment, she couldn’t find words to refute it, yet faintly felt that something was not quite right somewhere.
Pei Chongxi hadn’t closed the glass door of the shower stall, and An Rong actually watched in fascination.
What a beautiful body.
An Rong praised from the bottom of her heart.
During these ten or so minutes of absentmindedness, Pei Chongxi put on a bathrobe. Radiating steaming warmth, she stepped closer to her step by step.
Instinctively sensing danger, An Rong took a step back, her back pressing against the cold wall.
“What are you going to do?”
Pei Chongxi’s fingers nimbly gripped the inner side of An Rong’s wrist, lifting it to her own lips.
She kissed An Rong’s wrist, her gaze possessive and longing.
“So does An’an want to find a man to marry?”
Thinking of the experiences by the school fence in the past, An Rong shivered all over.
“I actually don’t have thoughts about that. The teacher said puppy love isn’t allowed.”
“But we aren’t at school right now,” Pei Chongxi cut her off.
An Rong mumbled in a low voice, “If you never get married, people will gossip behind your back.”
An Rong recalled the village where she grew up as a child. There was always a group of idle people sitting at the village entrance, gossiping about everything, talking about whose daughter-in-law married well, whose daughter-in-law was too picky and ended up without a good husband, and whose daughter-in-law didn’t like to work.
Pei Chongxi looked at An Rong with a smile.
An Rong admitted defeat.
“Now that I have money, I won’t care about other people’s gossip. I haven’t thought about who I want to marry. I don’t like anyone.”
She didn’t like anyone, but she was willing to let Pei Chongxi hold her wrist and kiss it.
Pei Chongxi greedily wasn’t satisfied with just kisses on the wrist.
Her steaming body leaned forward, her teeth lightly biting An Rong’s lips.
“It doesn’t matter. Our An’an can take her time to think about it. We have plenty of time, right until An’an is sure about who she wants to spend her life with.”
The thunder outside grew louder.
An Rong was constantly worried that Pei Chongxi was scared of thunder, so even though she had been taken advantage of, she didn’t run away.
After burrowing into the blanket, just like at school in the past, she completely buried Pei Chongxi against her chest.
“Don’t be scared, don’t be scared of the thunder.”
Fearing that Pei Chongxi would be frightened by the thunder outside, she held Pei Chongxi very tightly.
“Luckily our An’an is still small, otherwise I’m afraid I wouldn’t even be able to catch my breath.”
An Rong didn’t understand Pei Chongxi’s words at first, but when she looked down, her face suddenly flushed red. As if trying to cover it up, she pulled the blanket up higher and held Pei Chongxi even tighter.
“Alright, fine. Seeing as you’re scared of thunder and physically weak, I won’t argue with you.”
The next morning, An Rong ran into Yu Shan, who had come to find Pei Chongxi.
Upon seeing An Rong, Yu Shan nodded in greeting.
An Rong also nodded shyly. She usually didn’t come into contact with anyone else, Yu Shan being the only one.
“Um… can I ask you something?”
An Rong sat opposite Yu Shan, feeling very awkward.
Pei Chongxi was currently on the second floor in the studio preparing things, while Yu Shan waited in the living room.
Holding the hot tea An Rong had brought, Yu Shan curved her eyes and said, “Please go ahead, Miss.”
What a pretty young girl.
Teacher Pei really got an incredible deal.
An Rong cracked her fingers and hesitated for a long time before saying, “Can you help me get an ID card? I don’t know what materials I need to prepare.”
At first, Yu Shan didn’t understand.
An Rong explained a few more sentences, and the smile froze on the corners of Yu Shan’s lips.
What?
Teacher Pei found an undocumented person??
Is this young girl’s background legal? Could it be that Teacher Pei swindled and tricked her here from some remote mountain village?
An Rong lowered her head and explained. “I want to go out to work and make some money. I can’t keep being supported by Pei Chongxi all the time.”
Yu Shan: ?
Teacher Pei actually wants her little girlfriend to go out and work?
