Jin Chenyue sat by the bed, having changed his clothes. The collar of his black shirt was slightly open.

He sat on the edge of the bed, one hand resting beside Gu Anyun’s head as he leaned slightly forward, his collarbone faintly visible.

“Are you awake?” He pinched the tip of her nose, his Adam’s apple moving slightly as he spoke.Full novel: After Crashing My Brain, I Became a Flirty Expert to Tease My Confused Ex-Husband — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Gu Anyun blinked her drowsy eyes, her mind clearing a little. She asked flatly, “When did you get back?”

“Just now.” He withdrew his hand and sat up straight.

Gu Anyun propped herself up on the bed and glanced at the time.

Twelve o’clock. She had only slept for half an hour.

She wasn’t sure whether Jin Chenyue knew about the things she had done.

Gu Anyun observed his expression, which seemed no different from usual.

She pursed her lips and tentatively asked, “Are you leaving right away?”

“I was originally coming back in the afternoon, but Nan Qiu said you were unhappy, so I canceled my lunch meeting and rushed back from the neighboring city.”

“Then I’ve caused you trouble.” Her expression was indifferent, showing no trace of guilt.

Jin Chenyue chuckled softly, his large hand ruffling her hair. “What’s all this about?”

“Nothing.” Gu Anyun’s tone was calm, and her gaze was equally steady.

“Nan Qiu said you chased away Teacher Wen and threw the gown into the pool.” His voice was low and magnetic, betraying no emotion, as if he were merely recounting an ordinary matter.

Gu Anyun felt he was even better at controlling his emotions than she was. Though there was no sign of reproach, his words carried the weight of an accusation.

“I don’t like Wen Xinzhi.” She looked directly into the man’s deep, dark eyes. “And I hate her work.”

“Why?” Jin Chenyue frowned slightly. “Haven’t you always worn her designs well in the past?”

“In the past, it was because I was the young mistress of the Jin family.” Gu Anyun paused before adding, “But I won’t be the young mistress of the Jin family for much longer. The things I hate, I don’t think I need to endure anymore.”

Hearing this, the man’s expression darkened.

“The things you hate?” He seemed not to understand, his lips curling into a cold smile. “Tell me, besides Wen Xinzhi, what else do you hate?”

Gu Anyun could sense his anger now.

This man was completely different from the boy he had been in their childhood. Now, he was proud and disliked others defying his wishes.

She knew his triggers and had carefully avoided them over the past three years.

But from today onward, she no longer wanted to.

Even though she knew her words would anger him further, she spoke without hesitation. “Besides Daddy and Mommy (my in-laws), everything that comes with being the young mistress of the Jin family, I hate it all.”

“Gu Anyun!” Jin Chenyue suddenly grabbed her wrist, his perfect jaw tightening. “Do you know what you’re saying?”

Gu Anyun ignored his anger, leaned over to open the drawer, and pulled out the divorce agreement.

“Jin Chenyue, the three-year agreement period is up. It’s time for you to fulfill your promise.”

She handed the agreement to him.

Jin Chenyue lowered his gaze, staring at the document in her hand. His breathing grew heavier and colder, inch by inch.

Since coming of age, Gu Anyun had always lived a glamorous and dignified life. Even at a moment like this, when they were parting ways, she didn’t want the situation to become too ugly.

Moreover, even if she and Jin Chenyue couldn’t remain husband and wife, given the friendship between their families, it was unlikely they would become enemies or strangers.Since they would still have to meet in the future and maintain the so-called friendship, it was better not to let things become too strained.

Gu Anyun let out a faint, almost imperceptible sigh. “If you’re worried that Mom and Dad will blame you, I’ll talk to them.”

“Do you think that’s what I care about?” Jin Chenyue abruptly pulled her up from the bed.

Gu Anyun’s light-colored pupils trembled slightly as she stumbled barefoot on the soft mattress, barely steadying herself to avoid falling into his arms.

Jin Chenyue stood at 190 centimeters tall, but at that moment, Gu Anyun, who was 170 centimeters, stood on the 50-centimeter-high bed, making her slightly taller than him. He had to tilt his chin up slightly to meet her gaze.

Gu Anyun lowered her beautiful eyes, staring directly at the anger in his eyes, and reminded him calmly, “Jin Chenyue, you’re hurting me.”

Jin Chenyue frowned and loosened his grip slightly.

As soon as his grip loosened, Gu Anyun immediately pulled her hand back and took a few steps backward.

Her reaction, as if avoiding a snake or scorpion, stung Jin Chenyue’s eyes.

Suddenly feeling somewhat powerless, Jin Chenyue’s Adam’s apple moved with difficulty a few times as he called her in a low, deep voice, “Little Sweet Candy…”

“Don’t call me that.” Gu Anyun immediately cut him off. That nickname nearly broke her composure.

She took a few deep breaths, forcing herself to stay calm.

Then, she curled her lips faintly, her expression as cold as ever.

“We’re not divorced yet. Is it appropriate for you to call me that now? How am I supposed to respond? By calling you ‘brother’?”

Jin Chenyue: “…”
