There was so much to complain about that Li Wangshu didn’t even know where to start.

“So, this novel actually has police? A domineering CEO commits crimes and actually gets arrested and sent to prison? It’s still a society governed by law. That’s pretty rare.”

Reluctantly, she changed into her shoes, put on a face mask, and, urged on by the female ghost, headed toward Bar Street.Full novel: After Cutting Ties, the Real Heiress Became the Villain’s Wife — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Thinking back to the gossip Lin Can had shared earlier, she was fairly certain He Yu was the refined-looking scumbag who had visited their school. Someone so lawless and twisted might seem exciting in a novel, but in real life, Li Wangshu wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.

Unfortunately, she had no choice but to get involved.

“Do we really have to save a guy who brings minors into a bar?” Li Wangshu asked unwillingly. “Honestly, I already feel guilty enough for not calling the police myself.”

“He didn’t! He never did! He was framed!” The ghost sounded as if she’d been completely brainwashed.

“Please. Flies don’t land on seamless eggs. No matter what happened afterward, if he hadn’t brought them to a place like this in the first place, none of this would’ve happened.”

Across both her lives, Li Wangshu had never stepped foot inside a bar.

Watching people stumble drunkenly in and out made her a little nervous, but the ghost kept urging her forward.

Trying to attract as little attention as possible, Li Wangshu slipped inside.

The flashing lights and colorful atmosphere made everyone’s faces look similar, making it difficult to find the person she was looking for.

But a domineering CEO would definitely be in a private room.

She noticed a bouquet of roses discarded in a trash can, picked it up, and pretended to be a waitress delivering flowers, knocking on one private room after another.

By the time she reached the fifth room, she saw He Yu being supported by two people as they led him out of the room next door.

He wore a blue velvet shirt. Beneath his gold-rimmed glasses, his eyes were closed, as though he had fallen asleep after getting drunk.

The group passed by Li Wangshu and headed toward a private room farther inside.

She waited until they turned the corner before quietly following them.

After everyone entered the room and then came back out, Li Wangshu hid inside an empty room nearby and counted heads.

Besides He Yu, two girls who had entered earlier were still missing.

“Hurry and save him! He’s been drugged!” the ghost urged anxiously.

“I know, I know.”

Not wanting to reveal herself, Li Wangshu pulled her mask up higher before entering the room next door.

When she walked in, He Yu was pushing the two girls away while shouting,

“Get lost!”

That was different from what she’d imagined.

The two girls exchanged glances when they saw her.

“Did you come to the wrong room?”

“No. The police arrived early. The boss told me to have you leave first. I’ll take care of things here.”

The two girls were obviously underage. They weren’t experienced criminals but rather children who had likely been deceived into doing this. They certainly didn’t want the police finding out.

Sure enough, the moment they heard the police were coming, they panicked and ran out immediately.

Even Li Wangshu hadn’t expected it to be this easy.

She had been prepared to grab them by the hair if necessary.

He Yu looked miserable.

The beautiful yet fierce look in his eyes made it obvious he was still extremely alert.

Considering his current condition, it really hadn’t been easy for those two girls to succeed against him in the original novel.

“I’m here to help you. Come with me. If the police arrive, you won’t be able to explain yourself.”

Although the original victims had already run away, who knew whether the people behind this would send someone else?

Li Wangshu stepped forward to help him.

Instead, He Yu grabbed her wrist, pinned her onto the sofa, and ripped off her face mask.

“How much did they pay you? Hmm? I’ll give you ten times as much.”

Under the dim yellow lights, beautiful people looked even more beautiful.

Li Wangshu was naturally attractive.

She had delicate features, lively eyes, fair skin, and although she wore an oversized T-shirt, it couldn’t hide her tall, graceful figure. At 172 centimeters, her long legs were especially eye-catching. Wherever she stood, people couldn’t ignore her.

Her only flaw was that her bangs were a little too thick.

The other unusual thing was how calm she remained.

Even with him so close to her face, she stayed expressionless, cold as a seasoned assassin.

It wasn’t normal.

In reality, being this close to a strange man had already made Li Wangshu’s heart pound wildly.

She simply cared too much about saving face and had forced herself to keep a straight expression.

Pulling her wrist free, she calmly put her mask back on.

She was an honor student.

She had no intention of letting surveillance cameras capture her face.

Seeing that he was difficult to deal with, she decided to tell him a half-truth.

“I’m not with them. My name is Li Wangshu. I’m a student at No. 1 High School. My ID number is ###. I just received the scholarship you donated. I work here part-time, and by chance I overheard people planning to frame you.”

“Mr. He, you’re a good person for helping students like us. I want to help you too.”

“We don’t have much time. Please come with me now. There’s no time to explain.”

Since they were destined to become involved with each other anyway, Li Wangshu had no hesitation in giving him her ID number.

He Yu hadn’t done many good deeds in his life.

This was the first time someone had tried to repay his kindness.

It all sounded a little unbelievable, but she had immediately volunteered her ID number.

He believed her.

Supported by Li Wangshu, He Yu staggered through what felt like an endless row of private rooms before reaching the emergency stairwell.

They exited through a small back door behind the bar.

Before they had even left the alley, police sirens erupted.

Night Bar was completely surrounded.

Their timing couldn’t have been better.

If they had been just a few minutes later, they never would have escaped.

Even if He Yu had done nothing wrong, there was no guarantee his enemies didn’t have backup plans.

If they couldn’t frame him with evidence, simply spreading rumors would be enough to ruin him.

Though, to be fair, Young Master He’s reputation was already terrible enough.

Li Wangshu had just breathed a sigh of relief when someone forcefully pulled her into an embrace.

His chest was firm.

Although he smelled faintly of alcohol, it wasn’t unpleasant. There was also a subtle woody fragrance from his cologne.

“Do me a favor.”

“I’ll give you one million.”

Lowering his head, he whispered beside her ear.

His breath was hot, his voice soft and deeply alluring.

Looking up, Li Wangshu met his already unfocused eyes.

Given his condition, it wasn’t hard to guess what kind of favor he was asking for.

Here it was.

The classic drugged CEO cliché.

While silently complaining that it was only one million—apparently inflation in the world of domineering CEOs wasn’t all that impressive—Li Wangshu struggled free from his arms and reached toward his waist.

He Yu thought she had broken free because she wasn’t interested.

Instead, the young girl wrapped an arm around his waist.

“Heh… so young, yet you like taking the initiative.”

“Heh? Heh my foot!”

Li Wangshu sneered.

She grabbed a small fold of flesh at his waist and twisted it as hard as she could.

His muscles were so firm that there wasn’t much skin she could pinch, but it hurt enough.

“Hiss…”

He Yu sucked in a sharp breath.

“What are you doing?!”

“Helping you wake up.”

He Yu glared at her.

“Uncle, I don’t even turn eighteen until next week.”

“Who are you calling ‘Uncle’?!”

He Yu took a step back, gritted his teeth, and indeed looked much more clear-headed.

Li Wangshu hailed a taxi, shoved him inside, and told the driver to take him to the hospital.

Before leaving, the shameless man tried to slip a bank card into the collar of her shirt.

She dodged it.

Even after the taxi had started driving away, he leaned out the window and shouted,

“Come to Baijing someday and visit your big brother!”

What a shameless guy.
