Bo Wang froze in his wheelchair, taking a long moment to process before asking in shock, "Grandfather, what do you mean by this?"

"Since you're bound to get yourself killed sooner or later anyway, I might as well start getting used to what it feels like to have no grandson now. That way, when you suddenly kick the bucket, I won't be caught off guard!"

The Butler secretly rejoiced in his heart but kept a straight face as he comforted, "Young Master, as long as you win your fiancée back, you'll still be the only young master of the Bo family. Don't give up, you can do it."Full novel: After Descending the Mountain, Seven Fiancés Insist on Marrying Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Bo Wang wasn't the least bit intimidated by Old Master Bo's threat. He replied sarcastically, "So what if that woman is pregnant again? Grandfather thinks this main account is ruined and wants to focus on raising a new one, right? Go ahead and raise it, who's afraid of whom? Uncle, can I come stay with you?"

Lu Xuan glanced at Bo Wang, then swept his eyes over the chat dialog with Ning Xi on the computer screen, gently declining, "Bo Wang, you're a 22-year-old adult. You should learn to support yourself."

Old Master Bo reached out and patted Bo Wang's shoulder, saying, "I'll still cover your nursing care and medical expenses during your hospital stay. But after you're discharged, you'll have to earn all your living expenses yourself."

Through his thin glasses, Lu Xuan looked at Bo Wang's handsome face and leisurely suggested, "The entertainment company is recruiting trainees. They provide food and accommodation. As your uncle, I suggest you could rely on your looks to make a living."

Cornered like this by his own grandfather and uncle, Bo Wang instantly bristled like a little kitten, angrily maneuvering his wheelchair out of the consultation room.

Only after Bo Wang had left did Old Master Bo ask with concern, "Lu Xuan, will Bo Wang's leg leave any lasting effects?"

"As long as he takes good care of his injury, there shouldn't be any problems."

Old Master Bo hesitated, wanting to say more.

He hoped Bo Wang would come to his senses soon and be with that young girl.

From then on, free from illness and disaster, with everything going smoothly.

"Lu Xuan, how is your sister doing?"

Lu Xuan replied calmly and serenely, "She's doing well."

"Regarding Bo Wang's situation, please try to talk some sense into him. After all these years of fooling around, it's time he settled down."

Ning Xi, of course, knew nothing about the Bo family cutting off Bo Wang's financial resources.

After leaving the hospital, she hailed another ride-hailing car and went to the residential building of a prestigious university.

Wearing her Taoist Robe, Ning Xi went upstairs and stood in front of Room 402, ringing the doorbell.

"Ding… ding-dong-dong…"

Ning Xi rang the doorbell for a full minute, but no one came to answer.

Quickly, she took out a set of keys from a small pocket in her sleeve, selected an old-fashioned brass-colored key, and unlocked the door.

Standing at the doorway, Ning Xi called out.

"Teacher, it's Ning Xi. Are you home?"

The room's decor was in that old-fashioned style.

Out of the corner of her eye, Ning Xi spotted the keys on the hallway cabinet and hurried into the study.

In the roughly twenty-square-meter study, books of all kinds were piled everywhere.

A white-haired old man lay collapsed on the solid wood floor, his body and the ground around him scattered with draft papers.

Many of the draft papers were stained red with blood, a shocking sight.

"Teacher!"

Ning Xi rushed to her teacher's side, extending a finger to gently check his breathing.

There was still a faint breath.

Ning Xi pressed one hand on the teacher's acupoint while taking out her phone with the other, making a voice call to Lu Xuan.

"Doctor Lu, my teacher has fainted at home. Should I call 120 for emergency assistance right now, or…"
