Ning Xi entered the hall and took out paper and a pen.

Bo Wang held the paper and pen, unsure for a long time how to begin.

It seemed the teacher hadn’t taught that.

Ning Xi searched online for the format of an IOU on her phone and handed it to Bo Wang.

Bo Wang glanced at it indifferently, then swiftly wrote out an IOU on the paper.

Ning Xi promptly handed over an inkpad.

Bo Wang gritted his teeth until they creaked.

He pressed his thumb into the inkpad, then stamped his fingerprint next to his name on the IOU.

“Lend me your phone.”

Ning Xi looked earnestly at Bo Wang’s handsome, manga-like face and asked curiously, “Bo Wang, didn’t your teacher teach you polite phrases? Please, thank you, sorry?”

Bo Wang shot Ning Xi a cold glance, snorted, and strode out of the temple gate.

Seeing this, Ning Xi quickly closed the main hall’s door, picked up a canvas bag, and followed Bo Wang out of the temple at a leisurely pace.

The temple was deep in the mountains, shaded by lush trees and overgrown with wild grass, making even the downhill path hard to distinguish.

This season, there were not only squirrels but also small deer in the woods.

As soon as Ning Xi saw these little animals, she greeted them with familiar ease.

“Little Flower, I’m going on a long trip. Keep an eye on the temple for me, okay?”

“Little Gray, you mustn’t bully Little Black anymore.”

Bo Wang, nearly 1.9 meters tall, took large strides.

Even so, Ning Xi still followed him at her unhurried pace.

Bo Wang was tired, hungry, and thirsty, and with Ning Xi’s ethereal, pleasant greetings behind him, his temper flared like a raging fire, burning away his reason.

He suddenly turned around, rushed up to Ning Xi, and said in a low voice, “You, stop following me.”

Ning Xi was stunned.

“Why?”

Bo Wang’s expression was filled with irritation.

“No reason. Just stop following me!”

Ning Xi glanced back at the temple atop the mountain, didn’t argue or reason with Bo Wang, and silently sat on a nearby rock to play on her phone.

A few little squirrels picked some bright red wild fruits and placed them beside Ning Xi.

“Thank you, little ones.”

The squirrels chattered a few times.

Ning Xi nibbled on the wild fruits, comfortably holding her phone as she surfed the internet on 5G.

After some time, Bo Wang returned to Ning Xi’s side, sweating profusely and panting heavily, demanding, “Ning Xi, are you human or ghost? What trick are you trying to play on me?”

Bo Wang didn’t understand why, after leaving Ning Xi, his perfectly fine watch stopped working, and after walking tired and thirsty for a long time, he opened his eyes only to find himself back at the spot where he had parted ways with Ning Xi.

Ning Xi took out her wallet from the canvas bag and handed her ID card to Bo Wang.

Bo Wang took the ID card and saw that Ning Xi had just turned 18 that day.

She had an ID card!?

So she was human!

Not a ghost.

Nor a wild spirit!

But… why had he returned to the starting point?

Ning Xi took back her ID card and asked calmly:

“Did you try to shake me off because you wanted to renege on the debt?”

Bo Wang laughed in anger. “Just a mere billion? Why would I renege?”

“Oh.”

Ning Xi’s way of eating the wild fruits looked incredibly delicious.

Bo Wang, tired and hungry, couldn’t help but swallow his saliva as he watched her tempting eating.

"How much for this fruit?"

Ning Xi glanced at the last wild fruit and handed it to Bo Wang.

He named a price.

"100?"
