Yun Yang took a deep breath and controlled her mental strength to remove the black mist.
She found no trace of the griffin in her mental landscape and guessed that it had hidden itself.
One mass of black mist after another was eliminated by her mental strength. With the need to retain at least half of her mental strength in mind, Yun Yang purified as much of it as she could.
Having been born into a peaceful country in her previous life, she had always had a strong admiration for the profession of soldier.
The Federation’s military were soldiers too.
If it were not for these Federation soldiers resisting the Zerg on the frontier planets, the Federation would probably have been overrun by the Zerg long ago, given their terrifying reproductive capacity.
Yun Yang wanted to help this former Federation soldier as much as she could.
But Min Shi’s contamination was simply too severe. Yun Yang had expended nearly 50% of her mental strength, yet she had only managed to purify a very small portion of the black mist.
It was completely different from when she had purified her two beast husbands earlier.
Yun Yang thought of the information she had looked up before.
The higher a male’s ability rank and contamination level, the more difficult he was to purify.
She now had a deep understanding of those words.
Worried that she would not have enough mental strength left to purify the males who came after him, Yun Yang promptly withdrew her mental strength.
Qin Mo and Xuan Yu brought her water and wiped away her sweat, then helped her sit down in the chair that Lao Wei had moved over.
Yun Yang and Min Shi sat facing each other. In her eyes, the beast transformation features on Min Shi’s body were gradually fading.
“Mr. Min Shi, how do you feel?”
Min Shi relaxed all over. He opened his mouth and was pleasantly surprised to find that he could speak normally again.
“I… feel great. Thank you, respected Ms. Yun Yang.”
Hearing that familiar voice they had not heard in so long, Lao Wei and the five supervisors all looked delighted.
Lao Wei quickly took a contamination level detector out of his spatial button. “Old Griffon, hurry up. Check your contamination level!”
Unlike the smart terminal’s testing, the detector was more accurate and much faster.
Half a minute later, the result appeared on the instrument.
Seeing those two scarlet numbers, Lao Wei was even more excited than Min Shi himself. “79! Old Griffon, your contamination level has dropped to 79!”
“That’s wonderful! Old Griffon won’t die!”
Even Min Shi had not expected his contamination level to drop so much all at once.
Although 79 was still quite high, it could already be controlled with suppressants.
If his contamination level did not increase again for some time, perhaps he could apply to return to the frontier planets and fight the Zerg.
At the thought, Min Shi finally showed a relaxed smile.
“Respected Miss, may I have the honor of knowing your name?”
Before coming here, he had already been experiencing very few moments of clarity, so he could not remember whether Lao Wei had told him.
Yun Yang gave him a polite smile. “Mr. Min Shi, you can just call me Yun Yang.”
“Ms. Yun Yang, you have a lovely name.”
Min Shi offered the compliment without any other meaning, then turned his attention to the others in the office area.
Although the former deputy commander deliberately kept his presence in check, the moment his stern gaze swept over the five supervisors, they instinctively straightened their backs.
Min Shi’s gaze finally fell on Qin Mo behind Yun Yang.
“You’re… Qin Mo from the 23rd Legion?”
Qin Mo stepped forward and saluted Min Shi. “I’m glad to see you looking like this now, Deputy Commander Min.”
There were thirty-two Legions in the Federation. The earlier the Legion’s number in the sequence, the closer its stationed planets were to the Zerg’s home base.
Although Qin Mo was also a deputy commander of a Legion, he still placed himself in the lower position.
“There’s no need to be so formal. I’m no longer a deputy commander.” Min Shi waved a hand. “You’re lucky to have such an outstanding Female Master.”
“Qin Mo of the Federation’s 23rd Legion, tell me, what is the first article of the Federal Female Protection Act?”
His voice carried a hint of sternness as he said this.
Qin Mo raised his head and answered firmly, “Protecting females is the first duty of every male in the Federation.”
Min Shi nodded in satisfaction. “Good. Remember this. You must protect your Female Master just as you would protect the Federation.”
“Yes!”
Min Shi turned his attention back to Yun Yang. The imposing air he had displayed when facing Qin Mo vanished in an instant, leaving only a kindly smile.
“Ms. Yun Yang, would you mind giving me a way to contact you?”
“Of course.” Yun Yang opened her smart terminal and added Min Shi as a contact.
The second her friend request was accepted, she received a notification about a change in the funds in her Federation account.
【Federal Bank: Dear Ms. Yun Yang, your account has received a transfer of 1,000,000 Federation credits from user Min Shi. Your current balance is 1,394,000 Federation credits.】
Yun Yang: !
In her previous life, the only place she had ever seen that many zeroes was in the company’s accounts!
Min Shi smiled and explained, “This is the payment I should give you for your services. I hope you won’t refuse, Ms. Yun Yang.”
A purification slot with an S-rank female was something money could not actually buy.
He had practically gotten the deal of a lifetime.
Since he had made it clear that it was payment for her services, Yun Yang did not refuse.
Knowing that there were still males waiting to be purified, Min Shi soon left the office area with the five supervisors.
Although his contamination level had dropped, it was still impossible to determine whether it would remain stable, so he still had to remain under observation in the Purification Tower for at least half a month.
After half a month, if his contamination level was still below 90, he would be able to leave the Purification Tower.
None of this had anything to do with Yun Yang anymore. She sat in the office area and rested for a while before the second male arranged by Lao Wei arrived.
“Ms. Yun Yang, this is Gong Yanfeng, the former executive officer of the Federation’s 7th Legion. His ability rank is S-rank, and his contamination level is 99.”
The 7th Legion again?
Yun Yang was a little curious. Could it be that all the males under supervision in the Purification Tower on X92 Star were from the Federation’s 7th Legion?
She would ask Qin Mo about it when she got back later.
Seeing the former executive officer restrained in the restraint chair, Yun Yang temporarily pushed aside the irrelevant thought. After approaching him, she had Gong Yanfeng open his mental landscape as usual.
Gong Yanfeng’s was also completely gray, as though all color had been stripped away.
Using the mental strength she had left, Yun Yang purified as much of the rampaging black mist as she could, and the smart terminal on her wrist soon began issuing warnings one after another.
【Warning, your mental strength is below 30%. Please make sure to rest!】
【Warning, your mental strength is below 20%. Please make sure to rest!】
【Warning…】
When her mental strength fell below 20%, Yun Yang was already struggling to keep going.
Once her mental strength dropped below 10%, she no longer hesitated and immediately withdrew it.
The beast transformation features on Gong Yanfeng’s body also gradually faded.
Yun Yang breathed a sigh of relief, while Lao Wei immediately brought over the contamination level detector.
Even among S-rank individuals, there were differences in strength, and the difficulty of purification varied accordingly.
Therefore, although Yun Yang had expended less mental strength on Gong Yanfeng than she had on Min Shi, Gong Yanfeng’s contamination level had likewise dropped to 79.
Lao Wei was moved to tears of joy and thanked Yun Yang repeatedly.
“Ms. Yun Yang, thank you so much. You saved their lives!”
Gong Yanfeng also paid Yun Yang his highest respects and, just like Min Shi, transferred a large sum of money to her as compensation.
Yun Yang shook her head and curled the corners of her lips into a smile. “There’s no need to thank me. You’ve already paid me enough.”
“Mr. Lao Wei, if there’s nothing else, I’d like to go back and rest first.”
Seeing that Yun Yang had clearly overexerted herself, Lao Wei nodded repeatedly and personally led people to escort her out of the Purification Tower.
Almost as soon as she boarded her family’s starship, Yun Yang could no longer hold herself up and collapsed into Qin Mo’s arms.
