A flicker of unreadable light flashed in Bo Jianyan’s eyes. “Probably so.”

After being rebutted by him at the office, those old men were likely feeling quite dissatisfied with his position as CEO. Bo Jianyan did not care much, but the thought of being lectured once he returned to the old estate was annoying. A bunch of pests.

Song Chengchi looked at him several times. “What do you plan to do next? And what about him?” He gestured toward the bedroom door; there was no need to say a name to know he was referring to Gu Huai.Full novel: After Entering a Marriage Agreement with My Benefactor, This Tsundere Beauty Sends Me Money Every Night — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Bo Jianyan arched an eyebrow. “I am taking my Xiao Huai to meet the family.”

Song Chengchi’s perception of shamelessness was once again refreshed. “…’Your’ Xiao Huai already? It is just a contract marriage. He does not even like you.”

Hearing this, Bo Jianyan scanned him up and down before tonelessly uttering a few words, “I recall that a certain someone’s white moonlight is about to return to the country?”

Song Chengchi surrendered. “Fine, fine, you two are a perfect match. Does your Gu Huai know about this?”

Bo Jianyan acted the part of a refined gentleman. “He does not. I am pursuing him slowly.”

Song Chengchi: “Shameless.”

When Gu Huai woke up, the person who had been sleeping beside him was already sitting at the desk, wearing dark pajamas and typing away with a serious expression. Hearing movement from the bed, Bo Jianyan looked up. “Go wash up first.”

After Gu Huai finished, he saw the man was still at the desk and approached him. “Brother Bo, do you feel any better?”

Bo Jianyan seemed to be on a video call. Hearing his voice, the man looked up with a hint of grievance. “I am not better.”

Gu Huai heard this and hurriedly leaned in to check his temperature. Their posture was strangely intimate. After checking Bo Jianyan’s forehead and comparing it to his own, Gu Huai confirmed the fever had indeed subsided.

Before he could speak, a loud clatter came from the screen, sounding like something heavy had dropped. Gu Huai was dazed. He glanced at the screen and froze instantly.

…I am dead. Why is Brother Bo on a video call with someone?

Their current position was far too ambiguous. Gu Huai’s body went stiff, his movements becoming unnatural. Bo Jianyan took in his reaction. Seeing that Gu Huai wanted to run, he reached out and pulled the boy into his arms, casting a warning look at the person on the screen. “You scared my wife.”

Hearing those words, Gu Huai’s body stiffened further as a suspicious flush crept onto his face.

The person on the other end quickly composed himself, his tone indifferent. “Apologies for scaring you.”

Gu Huai wanted to escape the awkward atmosphere, but Bo Jianyan seemed to do it on purpose, resting his head on Gu Huai’s shoulder. “That is more like it. Baby, let me introduce you; this is my older brother.”

Gu Huai hadn’t even recovered from the embarrassment when he heard this. His brain felt like it was about to explode. What had he just done!? Now he was sitting on Bo Jianyan’s lap, right in front of Bo Jianyan’s own brother!?

The Alpha on the screen bore some resemblance to Bo Jianyan, but they seemed to have polar opposite personalities. He spoke with a voice as flat as water, “Bo Jianyan, explain yourself.”

Bo Jianyan glanced at him. “What is there to explain? We have already signed the marriage certificate. Do you need to see it? You single dog.”

The two of them began bickering out of nowhere. Gu Huai didn’t know what to call the person on the screen; he certainly couldn’t call him “Brother Bo” too.

Bo Jianyan gave a light laugh. “Big Brother, surely you did not call specifically to lecture me.”

The man on the screen remained expressionless. “You certainly know how to flatter yourself. I have important matters to attend to. Do not be late for the family dinner tonight. Also, do not bully him.” Without waiting for Bo Jianyan to respond, he hung up.

Gu Huai tried to get Bo Jianyan to release the arm around his waist. Noticing the movement, a certain someone became displeased. “Do you not like me holding you? You can say so directly, baby.”

Before Gu Huai could even speak, the man had already masterfully twisted the narrative.

“No, I like it very much.”

Bo Jianyan toyed with his fingers; Gu Huai’s fingers were beautiful and slender. “Baby, come to the family dinner with me tonight, okay? Otherwise, if I am there alone, my brother will definitely find me eyesore.”

Gu Huai had always tried to satisfy Bo Jianyan’s requests. “Alright.”

Seeing his scheme succeed, Bo Jianyan felt satisfied. “Mm-hmm.”

Looking at the man’s features, Gu Huai still felt a sense of guilt. I am sorry, Brother Bo. I will make it up to you in the future.

Gu Huai spoke up tentatively, “For the family dinner… will I embarrass you if I go?” He had been through countless social occasions since childhood, yet for the first time in his life, he felt a surge of nervousness.

Bo Jianyan buried his face in Gu Huai’s neck and rubbed against him. “Embarrass me? I could not be happier that you are willing to go with me.”

“Did I just leave a bad impression on your brother?”

Bo Jianyan couldn’t help but laugh; how could he be this cute? “Baby, are you nervous about going back to meet the family with me?”

Seeing Gu Huai fall silent, Bo Jianyan knew he had hit the mark. Gu Huai felt slightly unnatural but did not hide it further. “Yes.”

Bo Jianyan felt his heart itch at the gesture; the boy was constantly breaking the rules without even realizing it. He felt a sudden impulse to take this person back immediately and announce to the whole world: This person belongs to Bo Jianyan.

Bo Jianyan buried his head against him. “It is fine. No one will be dissatisfied with you.” Who would dare be dissatisfied with my wife? They’d just scare him away.

Gu Huai was completely clueless when it came to matters of the heart. Bo Jianyan had figured out through trial and error that Gu Huai’s current feelings were likely stuck on the idea that they were just in a contract relationship.

Bo Jianyan felt a headache. How was he so easy to fool? If it were someone else, would Gu Huai be tricked just as easily? Feeling a bit annoyed, Bo Jianyan intentionally squeezed Gu Huai’s hand. “Baby, what do you think of me?”

Gu Huai didn’t know why he suddenly brought this up. It seemed a bit random, but he thought about it and answered seriously, “You are very handsome, and you are very good to others.”

Bo Jianyan almost choked on those words. Was that what he wanted to hear? They had done almost everything, yet Gu Huai still treated him like a friend. This was not right.

He was extremely annoyed now, and even more so because Gu Huai had agreed so directly to his request. He was so innocent; it was a good thing he was the one who snatched him up. Otherwise, what would happen if he met someone with ill intentions?

“And?” Bo Jianyan looked as if he wouldn’t let him up until he said what Bo wanted to hear.

Gu Huai looked away, feeling a bit guilty and not daring to meet Bo Jianyan’s eyes. He truly had nothing left to say. Trying to change the subject to stop the interrogation, he began, “Brother Bo…”

Bo Jianyan looked at him with a laughing gaze. “Do not try to be clever, baby.”
