Hearing that voice, Bo Jianyan’s eyes were filled with gloom. He looked ready to charge over and beat Ye Yunsui to a pulp if the man said one more word.

He was truly displeased.

Before Gu Huai could even speak, Bo Jianyan reached the end of his patience. He snatched the phone away, his voice dripping with provocation. “He is busy tonight.”Full novel: After Entering a Marriage Agreement with My Benefactor, This Tsundere Beauty Sends Me Money Every Night — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ye Yunsui’s voice crackled through the speaker, his confusion evident. “? Bo Jianyan? Why are you with our Xiao Huai?”

Bo Jianyan had no interest in extended dialogue with such an annoying person. “None of your business. I said he is busy.”

Sensing the tension, Gu Huai tried to reach for his phone. “Brother Bo, give me back my phone first.”

But in Bo Jianyan’s eyes, this translated to: My wife is angry with me because of an annoying person.

Bo Jianyan’s expression turned icy. “Stop pestering my Gu Huai.”

Ye Yunsui let out a chuckle. “President Bo is quite interesting. I have never heard Xiao Huai mention you before.”

“Is there some kind of relationship between you two?”

Bo Jianyan was about to fire back when he heard Gu Huai’s cold voice: “Brother Bo.”

Bo Jianyan’s spirit visibly dejected. He handed the phone back to Gu Huai, his mind replaying that unusually cold “Brother Bo.”

Gu Huai scolded him. Gu Huai scolded him because of Ye Yunsui.

Bo Jianyan returned the phone with great reluctance, letting out a few cold snorts to express his dissatisfaction. Gu Huai took the phone, shot Bo Jianyan a reassuring look, and continued the call. “Brother Yunsui, what is it?”

Ye Yunsui didn’t have anything urgent. He spoke vaguely, “It is nothing major. I sent you a document. I was thinking of asking you out for dinner. But it looks like you are busy over there?”

Gu Huai gave an affirmative sound. “Let us do it next time. I am busy preparing to join the film crew lately.”

Since the call was on speaker, Bo Jianyan heard the entire conversation. Hearing Gu Huai say he was too busy for dinner made his expression soften slightly. Of course, he was still mostly irritated. Gu Huai scolded him; he was unhappy.

Gu Huai said a few more words and hung up. He saw Bo Jianyan sitting to the side, swiping through his phone with a blank expression.

Bo Jianyan’s mind wasn’t on his phone at all. He was wondering if Gu Huai would come over to coax him. If Gu Huai coaxed him, he would reluctantly forgive him this once. But Gu Huai didn’t seem to notice anything was wrong.

Seeing that Gu Huai hadn’t moved for a long time, Bo Jianyan pursed his lips. “Let us go. The driver is almost here.”

Gu Huai nodded and continued messaging someone on his phone.

Bo Jianyan: “…” That hauntingly annoying Ye Yunsui.

When exactly would Gu Huai realize that his mood was off, that he was jealous, and that he needed to be coaxed!? Seeing no movement from Gu Huai, Bo Jianyan decided to endure it a bit longer. Gu Huai must just be too busy and forgot.

Damn you, Ye Yunsui.

Gu Huai looked at the document Ye Yunsui had sent, his brows furrowing slightly. He couldn’t help but type back: [Is that old geezer Gu Chong finally going crazy?]

Ye Yunsui replied quickly: [Share prices are plummeting, massive layoffs of veteran employees while hiring new ones. He might be quite mad.]

Gu Huai frowned, feeling something was amiss. Based on Gu Chong’s “old fox” style, how could he handle things this way? As if reading his mind, Ye Yunsui’s next message arrived: [Gu Yi is the one behind the layoffs.]

Gu Huai suddenly felt a sense of relief: [The old man is truly willing to let his son wreck the company like this. Is the board of directors just standing by and doing nothing?]

Ye Yunsui sent a screenshot of a photo: [Here. They reached an agreement. They won’t interfere much during Gu Yi’s current tenure.]

Gu Huai sometimes felt these “old foxes” were each more cunning than the last. Seeing this, it felt like a poorly run amateur troupe. It was all a mess.

From the moment they got into the car, Bo Jianyan noticed Gu Huai’s focus was entirely on his phone. He had a gut feeling: Gu Huai was chatting with Ye Yunsui.

He felt depressed. Was Gu Huai angry because of his behavior earlier, and that was why he hadn’t spoken to him?

Only when they were almost at the Bo family estate did Gu Huai finally look up and turn to Bo Jianyan. “Brother Bo, are we here?”

Bo Jianyan gave a short “Mm.”

Gu Huai didn’t seem to sense anything. He opened the door, got out, and waited for Bo Jianyan. Bo Jianyan’s heart was in turmoil, but his face remained indifferent. What Alpha could be okay with his wife chatting enthusiastically with another Alpha right under his nose? Bo Jianyan felt he couldn’t.

But Gu Huai really didn’t seem to realize it. Bo Jianyan thought silently: Doesn’t Gu Huai find his reaction strange? From earlier until now, he hadn’t initiated any contact or even tried to hold Gu Huai’s hand.

Gu Huai suddenly stopped. Bo Jianyan, his mind full of Why isn’t Gu Huai coaxing me?, wasn’t paying attention and walked right into him.

Gu Huai hissed as he sucked in a breath of cold air from the impact. He turned back with a pained look, but his next words were exactly what Bo Jianyan needed to hear: “Brother Bo, should I hold your hand?”

Seeing him like this, Bo Jianyan felt secretly triumphant. Ye Yunsui who? Just a passing cloud. His wife was finally showing some progress today, even wanting to hold his hand. The future looked bright.

Having successfully comforted himself, he was about to happily take Gu Huai’s hand when Gu Huai continued, “Brother Bo, what should I do to make us look more like a couple?”

Bo Jianyan had thought the boy had finally opened his heart a little, but it turned out his mind was entirely on the contract. He was almost driven to a frustrated laugh. He hadn’t realized Gu Huai could be this infuriating.

Bo Jianyan walked over and took his hand. “No need to act. You can do whatever you want. Same goes for your attitude toward me.”

Gu Huai felt his heart rate accelerate for a moment. The Alpha before him had deep features, a high bridge on his nose, and thin lips. His words felt as though they were landing directly on Gu Huai’s heartbeat.

Gu Huai felt his face heating up involuntarily. “Brother Bo, let us go.”

The Bo family estate always placed great importance on family dinners, and with many extended relatives, the scale of the event was grand. Bo Jianyan held Gu Huai’s hand while introducing him to the family dynamics.

This was the first time Gu Huai had seen such a large family. People they passed all greeted Bo Jianyan with respect. Upon seeing Gu Huai in close contact with him, their greetings turned into curious, probing stares, wondering who he was.

It was the first time Bo Jianyan had brought someone back to the estate. There had been rumors that he had a marriage partner could they be true? Had Bo Jianyan really gotten married secretly behind the family’s back!?

Being watched like this made Gu Huai lower his eyes uncomfortably. He was actually going to meet the elders; he felt an indescribable nervousness.

Before he could compose himself, he heard Bo Jianyan speak: “Big Brother.”
