“I don’t know if you’ve ever heard a saying.” Qi Jiahe’s eyes were deep and mysterious, making Song Qianming’s scalp tingle. “Take a step back and the ocean and sky will open up.”

Just as the words left his lips, Song Qianming clenched his teeth, stared up at him, and remained silent for a few seconds before speaking in a low voice. “I understand.”

Qi Jiahe’s lips curved up slightly, and he reached out to pat Song Qianming on the shoulder twice before turning around and walking into the courtyard.Full novel: After Entering a Marriage of Convenience with My Arch-Rival, He Said He Liked Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After he left, the look in Song Qianming’s eyes turned hazy. Staring at a nearby tree trunk, he let out a long breath.

What’s so great about Qi Jiahe?

He’s just sitting in the Best Actor’s seat temporarily.

Staring at the spot where Qi Jiahe had left, Song Qianming clicked his tongue.

Yawning, Qi Jiahe walked into the courtyard, only to be greeted face-to-face by a camera. Startled, he took a step back.

“You scared me to death.”

The cameraman lowered his head from outside the lens and made an apologetic expression toward him.

Qi Jiahe forced a smile, lifted his foot, and walked toward the kitchen with the cameraman following right behind him.

Before he even reached the kitchen, he heard a crackling sound from inside. He quickly walked to the doorway, leaned against the door frame, and looked up at Jiang Yue.

“What are you doing?” Jiang Yue, who had been busy stir-frying the vegetables in the pan, heard the commotion, looked up, and asked instinctively when he saw Qi Jiahe standing there.

Qi Jiahe stretched lazily and said listlessly, “I’m hungry.”

Hearing this, Jiang Yue sighed.

“I’ll secretly give you a piece of crispy pork.” Jiang Yue raised a hand to cover his mouth as he yawned, while his other hand held a bowl filled with crispy pork, extending it toward Qi Jiahe.

Qi Jiahe glanced at the cameraman behind him. Taking advantage of a moment when the cameraman was distracted, he quickly picked up a piece of meat, popped it into his mouth, and chewed slowly.

Jiang Yue looked at him and asked in a low voice, “How is it?”

Qi Jiahe nodded as he chewed. “Delicious, though still a bit worse than mine.”

Eating something good while managing to praise himself at the same time—Jiang Yue rolled his eyes at him, stared at him wide-eyed for two seconds, and clicked his tongue.

“What on earth did you come here for?” He glanced at Qi Jiahe’s satisfied expression and asked in a low voice.

Qi Jiahe glanced back at the cameraman behind him, threw a mysterious expression at the lens, and then turned back to Jiang Yue, flashing him a wink.

“I was bored. If I’d known, I should have recommended that Song Qianming guy to the kitchen instead.” Qi Jiahe yawned, lowering his gaze to watch Jiang Yue’s hands cutting vegetables.

Jiang Yue didn’t care at all, keeping his head down and working away. “Didn’t he say he doesn’t know how to cook? Would you even dare to eat anything he made?”

Chatting while going about their tasks, it wasn’t long before Jiang Yue finished preparing several dishes.

Seeing this, Qi Jiahe swiftly moved his hands, picked up two plates, and carried them to the dining room. Jiang Yue cleaned up the kitchen behind him before following him to the dining table.

Standing outside the shooting area, Director Wang watched as Xu Na finished setting the table, neatly arranging the cups and tableware before taking a seat in one of the chairs.

As soon as Jiang Yue walked in, he saw Song Qianming sitting on the sofa, staring at him with a face full of grievance, looking just like a disgruntled housewife.

Avoiding eye contact with Song Qianming, Jiang Yue placed the dishes on the dining table.

“Wow, it smells so good!” Sitting in front of the table, Xu Na caught the aroma of meat drifting into her nose. Her eyes lit up as she stared at the plate of crispy pork for a few seconds.

Looking at the golden-brown surface of the crispy pork, she couldn’t help praising, “Jiang Yue is really something! It looks even better than what I make.”

“It’s alright,” Jiang Yue said modestly after washing his hands.

Song Qianming on the sofa lifted his gaze to look at Jiang Yue and rolled his eyes.
