Ni Yang took her sleepwear and went to take a shower first.
He Siyu sat on the sofa not far from the bed. The sound of water splashing filled his ears without pause.
His mind involuntarily began to construct an image of Ni Yang inside—without any clothing.
Standing under the water, streams tracing over her beautiful body…
Just thinking about it made his body heat up uncontrollably, leaving him restless and unable to sit still.
His jawline tightened, the elegant lines of his swan-like neck tensed, and his hands gripped his knees tightly. Veins bulged at his temples, and the corners of his eyes turned red.
He closed his eyes, leaned his head against the back of the sofa, his breathing heavy and burning. The entire room was filled with Ni Yang’s scent.
He began to regret agreeing to stay.
He had forgotten that sleeping in separate rooms was just an excuse—he had actually wanted to get closer to her.
He had underestimated his own desire toward Ni Yang. Even just her presence was enough to make him lose control.
The sound of water gradually faded. He opened his eyes and glanced at his watch.
She usually took about half an hour to shower.
As the sound of the hairdryer followed, another twenty minutes passed. By the time Ni Yang came out, the clothes sent by his assistant had also arrived.
He placed the suit he would wear tomorrow on the sofa, picked up his sleepwear and underwear, and walked toward the bathroom.
Ni Yang had changed into a round-neck pajama set. The steam from the bath had left a faint blush from her cheeks to her ears.
She wore slippers and walked a little stiffly, almost like she didn’t know where to place her hands and feet.
She glanced at the clothes in He Siyu’s hands.
“I left a clean towel on the sink inside, and you can use whatever toiletries you want.”
He Siyu smiled.
“Alright.”
Ni Yang sat on the edge of the bed and watched as He Siyu entered the bathroom. The French-style lattice door closed behind him.
She stood up, walked around to the inner side of the room, and hung the suit on her wardrobe.
The black silk suit had a strong sheen. It stood out sharply among her light-colored clothes, yet strangely, the more she looked at it, the more harmonious it felt.
After putting the clothes away, Ni Yang sent a message to the butler, asking him to bring shaving supplies around six in the morning.
She lifted the blanket and sat leaning against the bed. The sound of water from the bathroom was clearly audible.
Her nails unconsciously tapped against her phone case. Her lips pressed tightly together, and her heart beat violently.
She was going to sleep in the same bed as He Siyu.
Saying she wasn’t nervous would be a lie. She had only ever shared a bed with one boy in her life—Little Ye.
Nowadays, short videos flooded the internet. There were plenty of shirtless “gods” online—chest muscles, abs, V-lines. Honestly, sometimes she couldn’t stop the corners of her mouth from lifting when she saw them.
She was not someone who lived without desire.
But when she dated Qi Huaiyu, she disliked physical intimacy with him. Holding hands or hugging was fine, but once things went further, she instinctively resisted.
Because of this, she even went to see a psychologist. The doctor told her she was healthy and suggested she might simply reconsider whether her boyfriend was truly suitable for her.
Perhaps from the very beginning, her subconscious had already told her—Qi Huaiyu was not the right person.
Ni Yang looked toward the bathroom.
She had met He Siyu at a celebration banquet.
It had been half a year ago—the joint celebration between Yi An and Yinhe.
Her wandering gaze suddenly focused the moment He Siyu stepped out.
His slightly damp hair fell over his brow bone, and his deep brown eyes looked at her from afar.
He was still wearing the sleepwear from last night—a black deep V-neck shirt.
The man walked toward her. Ni Yang gradually saw the water droplets on his chest sliding down from his face, along his neck, over his collarbone, across his chest, and finally disappearing into the neckline.
She swallowed unconsciously. She did not realize that the almost predatory way she was looking at him was extremely alluring in his eyes.
“Does it look good?”
He Siyu suddenly spoke.
His voice had been softened by water—clear, cool, and gentle.
Ni Yang snapped back to reality. Her long eyelashes fluttered awkwardly.
She looked away, lowered her gaze, and stiffly replied, “It’s okay.”
He Siyu walked around the foot of the bed, came to the inner side, lifted the blanket, and sat down.
The mattress sank slightly beside her.
Ni Yang stared at her phone case and said, “I hung your clothes in the wardrobe.”
“Alright,” He Siyu replied softly.
“Thank you, Mrs. He.”
