A huge 96 appeared on the screen—far beyond what either of them had expected.

They’d thought Shen Yun might do well, but not this well!

His special admission score was nearly perfect, and he was only a freshman. How many first-year students could manage that?Full novel: After Her Identity Is Exposed, Her Wealthy Parents Beg for Forgiveness — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After studying here for two years, perhaps he’d be able to match Shen Yue.

What neither of them knew was that Shen Yue had taught Shen Yun most of what he knew.

Shen Yue had scored a perfect hundred on her special admission test because the test was only worth a hundred points!

Principal Zhong and Teacher Song could barely contain their excitement. Their smiles wouldn’t leave their faces. The school had found another treasure!

And without exception, every one of those treasures was in Teacher Song’s class.

Compared with the two men’s excitement, Shen Yun looked a little disappointed.

He pressed his lips together and walked over to Shen Yue, his voice slightly subdued.

“Sis, I only got 96.” His sister had gotten a perfect score.

“That’s all right. It’s one point higher than I expected.”

Hearing that, Shen Yun didn’t know whether to be happy or worried.

Shen Yue tapped her fingers on the desk, interrupting the two men in the middle of their excitement. “So, is this score enough for him to skip a grade?”

She said it as a statement, not a question.

“Enough, enough, absolutely enough.” Principal Zhong came back to himself and nodded repeatedly, beaming. “I’ll write you an acceptance certificate right away. Then you can go to Second High School and take care of the transfer.”

This time, Shen Yue said nothing. Shen Yun answered Principal Zhong instead.

“I’ve already withdrawn from Second High School. You only need to handle my enrollment.”

He must have been confident enough to withdraw from Second High School and come straight to First High School to take the test.

Principal Zhong personally took Shen Yun to complete the enrollment paperwork, and the process was incredibly quick.

With the two of them joining, Teacher Song also picked up the pace on preparing the elite class.

Every second of delay was a waste of talent.

……

The next morning.

When the students saw Shen Yue sitting in the last row, they assumed she’d offended Song Qingyuan and been banished to the back. They were privately delighted.

The very next moment, under everyone’s eyes, Song Qingyuan moved his desk and chair and sat in Shen Yue’s row.

Shen Yue merely raised an eyebrow at this and said nothing.

The class was astonished and baffled by Song Qingyuan’s behavior.

Before long, class began, and Teacher Song came in with Shen Yun, who had gone to pick up his books.

Teacher Song glanced toward Shen Yue’s row.

His gaze landed on Song Qingyuan, and he looked almost approving, as if thinking the boy was finally learning. Then he raised a hand and pointed to the empty seat beside Song Qingyuan.

“You’ll sit in your sister’s row.”

Shen Yun nodded obediently. Ignoring Shen Jiao’s questioning, reproachful look, he walked to the last row.

He looked at Shen Yue, then at Song Qingyuan for a few seconds. Finally, he silently sat in the empty seat beside Song Qingyuan and took out his textbook.

From then on, the experimental class had a row of three.

The other students were baffled.

Before Shen Yue had arrived, Song Qingyuan had been First High School’s top student and a genius.

He’d always kept to himself, and the teachers, afraid of distracting him, had given him a row all to himself.

It had been one thing for Teacher Song to seat Shen Yue beside him before. But now he was letting Song Qingyuan sit in the last row, too?

Was Teacher Song trying to make Song Qingyuan tutor the poor? But what did Shen Yue have to offer? Her bottom-of-the-class grades?

Teacher Song paid no attention to what the students thought. Once Shen Yun was settled, he announced the elite class.

“The elite class will run for half a year. After the monthly exams, we’ll select twenty students from the senior year for training. Everyone, work hard during this time.”

Teacher Song didn’t explain exactly what the elite class would do, only that it was for cultivating top students.

When the students heard that he would select people after the monthly exams, they all assumed the twenty would be the top twenty in their experimental class.

Chen Xinyi looked at Shen Jiao with envy. “Jiaojiao, you’ll have no problem making the top ten in our class. I’m so jealous.”

Teacher Song hadn’t said so, but everyone suspected the elite class was meant to prepare students for Capital University.

Chen Xinyi’s rank was near the bottom of the experimental class, so she had no hope of making it into the elite class.

Shen Jiao didn’t deny it. “It’s all right. You can ask me if there’s anything you don’t understand.”

She glanced toward the last row, pressing her lips together slightly. Once class was over and the teacher had left, she stood and walked to the back.

In the last row, Song Qingyuan was talking to Shen Yue about the elite class.

“What do you think the elite class is for?”

Shen Yue looked up from her book and glanced at him. “Didn’t Teacher Song just tell us?”

Song Qingyuan gave her a look that said, Do you really think I believe that?

Shen Yue returned a look that said, You should.

Song Qingyuan turned to Shen Yun, who was looking at him the same way, as if he couldn’t understand why Song Qingyuan didn’t believe his sister.

Song Qingyuan was about to ask something else when he noticed someone approaching and shut his mouth.

“What are you doing here?” Shen Jiao demanded.

Shen Yun’s expression barely changed. “Going to school.”

Shen Jiao was angered by his attitude, and her voice grew sharper.

“Going to school here? Do you even know what kind of place this is? Can you understand the lessons?”

She glanced at Shen Yue, who seemed not even to have noticed her arrival, and spoke pointedly.

“She’s making a fuss, and you’re joining in?”

At the mention of his sister, Shen Yun’s otherwise calm expression turned cold. He frowned.

“What’s so special about this place? If you can come here, why can’t I?”

Shen Jiao didn’t know Shen Yun had earned his place by passing the entrance test.

Hearing him say that, she assumed he was just too young to understand what First High School meant.

Shen Jiao didn’t want to argue with Shen Yun, so she turned her accusation toward Shen Yue.

“You’re happy to let him follow you into this nonsense? Think about how you’re going to explain this to Mom when you get back.”

“You’ve got it wrong.”

Shen Jiao and Song Qingyuan were both taken aback by Shen Yue’s words, thinking she meant to defend herself.

They reflexively looked at Shen Yun, but he showed no reaction.

Shen Yue slowly closed her book, rested one hand on the desk, and leaned back slightly.

She said casually, “I brought him to First High School.”

Her tone was perfectly ordinary, yet Song Qingyuan felt an overwhelming presence from her that made him seem insignificant.

Shen Jiao returned to her seat with a cold expression and took out her phone to send a message.

“Your eldest daughter brought your youngest son to our class. Can’t you do something about it?”

When Chen Xinyi leaned closer to comfort Shen Jiao, upset by her mood, she forgot to turn off her phone screen.

Shen Jiao only had to glance at it to see what was displayed.

—The Untold Past of First High School’s New School Belle.

The post had clearly just gone up and had barely attracted any attention.

Noticing Shen Jiao’s gaze, Chen Xinyi hurriedly locked her phone.

Shen Jiao looked away, a faint glimmer flickering in her eyes, and asked as if offhandedly, “What was that just now?”

Chen Xinyi smiled. “Nothing. Just some pointless post.”

……

After school that afternoon, the two of them returned to Shen Family Villa, and Shen Jiao arrived just then, too.

She handed her schoolbag to a servant with practiced ease, then greeted Su Yuqing.

Su Yuqing elegantly set down her teacup, smiling. “Jiaojiao, you’re home. Go rest for a bit. The kitchen made your favorite dishes today.”

“Mm. I’ll go upstairs and change first.”

Without so much as a glance at Shen Yue or Shen Yun, she strode out of the living room with her chin held high.

Shen Yue casually leaned against one end of the sofa, looking completely at ease—the opposite of Su Yuqing’s elegance.

She extended her long, pale fingers and tapped the table beside the teacup, signaling the servant to pour her some tea.

Su Yuqing turned her head. The smile vanished from her face at once, and she waved off the servant who was about to pour.

Shen Yun, who had been standing obediently beside Shen Yue, stepped forward and took the kettle from the servant.

The servant waited until Su Yuqing said nothing before daring to hand it to him.

Shen Yun poured water into Shen Yue’s cup, then set the kettle on the table. “Sis, have some water.”

Su Yuqing was even more annoyed. She said coldly, “Look at what you’ve done. And you still have the nerve to drink water.”

In the end, Su Yuqing was still somewhat soft-hearted toward her only son, so she could only take her anger out on Shen Yue.

Shen Yue ignored what Su Yuqing had said. She took a sip, set the cup down, and pursed her lips before offering her assessment.

“This water tastes too strong. You used too much tea. Steep it for less time and strain it a few more times.”

Then she looked at the servant beside her and asked in an even tone, “Remember that?”

As for Su Yuqing’s words, Shen Yue answered her with actions instead.

The servant glanced nervously at Su Yuqing, lowered her head as if trying to make herself as inconspicuous as possible, and answered in a voice barely louder than a mosquito’s buzz, “I-I’ll remember.”
