In a bizarre pose, Cheng Di stared at the girl on the sofa, who was playing a game with an air of complete nonchalance, his head tilted and his teeth bared.

Cheng Di stood as if someone had sealed his acupoints, unable to move.

As though sensing something, Shen Yue suddenly looked up at him and calmly explained, “He was too noisy, so I made him quiet down.”Full novel: After Her Identity Is Exposed, Her Wealthy Parents Beg for Forgiveness — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her expression seemed to say, He deserved it. Got a problem with that?

Though Cheng Sui had no idea what Cheng Di had done, he could imagine.

Ignoring Cheng Di’s even redder, more furious-looking face, Cheng Sui said with some resignation, “His brain doesn’t work very well. Don’t take it to heart.”

Shen Yue recalled how Cheng Di had been ready to fight her at the slightest provocation. She looked at him with an indescribable expression.

“Don’t worry. I don’t stoop to a fool’s level.”

At her words, Cheng Di, still on the floor, was so enraged that he forced his way out of the acupoint seal and sprang to his feet.

But under Cheng Sui’s cold gaze, all he could do was glare at Shen Yue like a caged gorilla, furious and resentful.

Inside, he raged, You’re the fool! Your whole family’s full of fools!

Shen Yue calmly exited the game, opened her payment code, and held it out to Cheng Sui. “One hundred thousand. Scan it.”

Cheng Sui paused, then took out his phone. He hesitated as he scanned the code. “Let’s add each other on WeChat. I’ll come find you next time I have an episode.”

Cheng Di looked incredulous again. Was he seeing things?

When had their Young Master ever taken the initiative to add someone on WeChat? He’d even heard a hint of anticipation in his tone.

Only after seeing the two of them add each other on WeChat did Cheng Di accept that he hadn’t misheard…

As they were leaving, Shen Yue casually asked, “When did you first get this condition?”

Cheng Sui didn’t hide it. “Two years ago.”

Cheng Sui lived right across the hall from Shen Yue, so the two of them were soon back home.

Thinking about the moves Shen Yue had used on him, Cheng Di realized they were nothing like the martial arts techniques of ordinary people.

They were similar to their own techniques, but not quite the same. Who among ordinary people knew how to seal acupoints? And yet Cheng Di clearly hadn’t sensed any internal energy in Shen Yue.

Looking puzzled but serious, Cheng Di said, “Young Master, I didn’t sense any internal energy in her.”

After finishing his water, Cheng Sui set down his glass and said without changing expression, “She’s a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine. She knows the body’s acupoints better than we do.”

It was perfectly normal for her to immobilize Cheng Di by pressing his acupoints, even without internal energy.

But Cheng Di still felt that something was off.

Seeing his expression, Cheng Sui rubbed his brow and said meaningfully, “Be more polite to her from now on.”

Cheng Di kept thinking about Shen Yue and completely forgot about Cheng Sui’s episode…

……

After Cheng Sui and Cheng Di left, Shen Yue sat in thought for a while. Her eyes lowered, her long lashes casting a shadow over them and hiding her expression.

Only after a long moment did she lift her head, her eyes clear again.

The phone on the table buzzed. Teacher Song from First High School had messaged to ask what she thought about the Seven Continents Joint Examination.

Teacher Song had given her problems from the examination and asked her about it; clearly, he wanted Shen Yue to take part.

The elite class First High School was about to launch was probably for training students for the examination, too.

Shen Yue found the WeChat contact saved as “Teacher He” and typed out a message.

【Teacher, can I take the Seven Continents Joint Examination?】

It was phrased as a question, but somehow it sounded more like, “I’m taking the Seven Continents Joint Examination.”

It was the middle of the night where Teacher He was, so Shen Yue was about to put her phone down after sending the message.

To her surprise, a reply came through the very next second.

Teacher He: 【Why would you take that exam? Got nothing better to do?】

Shen Yue’s fingers paused. Then she replied nonchalantly, 【I’m bored. I might as well do something for the school and the country.】

Every year, Daxia Continent had fewer than ten places in the Seven Continents Joint Examination, one of the lowest quotas among the seven continents.

And hardly anyone from Daxia Continent ever passed the exam. As a result, it held little standing among the seven continents and was often mocked.

If Shen Yue took the exam and earned a good ranking, she could raise the standing of both Daxia Continent and the school. It really would be a contribution.

Teacher He: 【……】

【You can, but you’ll have to agree to one condition.】

Shen Yue: 【Fine.】

Once she had her answer, Shen Yue replied to Teacher Song: 【I want two places.】

……

The next day.

The senior experimental class hadn’t settled down during morning study. Everyone was discussing the new student Teacher Song had mentioned the day before.

“I wonder what the new student’s like. Transferring schools in her senior year, of all times.”

“Anyway, she can’t be bad at studying. I hope she’s beautiful!”

Listening to everyone, Chen Xinyi remembered what Shen Jiao had said yesterday about Shen Yue coming to First High School.

What a coincidence. Shen Yue had just visited First High School yesterday, and now there was a new student?

She leaned toward Shen Jiao and asked quietly, “Jiaojiao, do you think the new student could be Shen Yue?”

Shen Jiao smiled and shook her head. She had wondered the same thing yesterday and had even gone home to ask Su Yuqing. She learned that Shen Yue had found another school.

“No. You know what kind of school First High School is. They wouldn’t take her just for the money.”

That made it sound as though, if Shen Yue did get in, it could only be because she’d paid the school.

As the two were talking, someone in the class suddenly exclaimed, then lowered their voice. “Whoa, a beauty!”

The students all turned to look, and a chorus of surprised exclamations rang through the classroom.

Outside the classroom window, a girl followed Teacher Song. She wore a casual outfit in black and gray.

Holding a stack of books, she wore her hair in a high ponytail, revealing a smooth, high forehead. Her phoenix eyes, with their distinctly Eastern elegance, tilted up slightly.

What drew the eye most was her unique aura.

Even through the window, they could sense her nonchalant air, edged with a hint of arrogance—just enough not to be off-putting.

They could search the whole school and not find another person with an aura like hers!

“She really is beautiful—and beautiful in a unique way. I wish I were the books in her arms.”

“We’re in for a treat from now on.”

“Why do I think she looks a little like Shen Jiao? Still, I like the new student better.”

Hearing her classmates’ comments, Shen Jiao looked away and lowered her eyes, her expression unreadable.

The sound of someone rapping on the blackboard rang out, and the classroom finally quieted. One by one, the students curiously studied Shen Yue standing at the front.

“This is our new classmate. Introduce yourself.”

Shen Yue lifted her dark eyes, showing none of the nervousness or shyness of someone in a new environment.

Her lips parted. Her voice was slow and lazy. “I’m Shen Yue.”

It was a plain introduction, yet somehow it came off as arrogant.

At the name, the students below froze, then turned to look at Shen Jiao. When they saw her nod without expression, their gazes toward Shen Yue grew complicated. Their initial enthusiasm gradually faded, replaced by contempt, mockery, and resentment.

The students in the experimental class mostly came from well-off families and had excellent grades. They were all proud and high-spirited.

Someone who’d gotten into First High School by paying for it was nothing but a pretty face. She wasn’t worth admiring, no matter how beautiful she was.

Shen Yue seemed not to notice. When Teacher Song waited for her to say more and she didn’t, he looked at her. “That’s it?”

“That’s it.”

Teacher Song: …All right, then.

He glanced over the desks and pointed to an empty seat toward the front, on the inside of the classroom. “You can sit there.”

At the seat Teacher Song had assigned, the students’ eyes widened. They looked even more displeased with Shen Yue.

Shen Yue didn’t object. She thanked him, ignored the hostile stares, and carried her books to the seat.

Teacher Song stayed until morning study ended before leaving.

The moment he was gone, the classroom grew noisy, and all kinds of hostile looks turned toward Shen Yue.

Shen Yue wasn’t affected in the least. She quietly read the books she had brought.

Suddenly, a shadow fell over her. An ambiguous voice sounded above her.

“I didn’t expect you’d actually get into First High School—and end up in our class, too… Still, congratulations.”
