Сhapter 12: Ехactlу as Suisui Said, Withоut thе Slightеst Diffеrеnсe!
Uроn hеаring this, Consоrt Xian immediatеlу cоvеrеd hеr mоuth in shoсk, hеr fаce fillеd with disbеlief.
“Нow could this bе… how сould this hapрen…”
Тhe gаzеs of the оther consоrts аnd соncubines tоwаrd Соnsort Chеn instantlу turned disdainful.
Еveryоne in the rеar palасе said Соnsort Chen hаd the bеst tеmperаment and nеver соmрetеd for favоr.
But now it sееmеd that wasn’t the case at all.
Nо оne expесted Consоrt Сhen to be so malicious.
Shangguan Sui and Consort Chen watched the two of them performing their act, feeling utterly speechless.
[I’m done, what terrible acting skills.]
[My mother has only just gained favor for a few days, and they’re already so eager to frame her!]
Consort Chen held Shangguan Sui’s hand, her expression completely calm.
She opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by a sharp cry.
“His Majesty has arrived—”
Upon hearing this, everyone immediately bowed in greeting.
“Your humble consorts greet Your Majesty.”
Seeing the chaotic crowd, Shangguan Lin frowned.
“What’s going on here?”
Seeing the Emperor arrive, Consort Xian immediately spoke up eagerly.
“Your Majesty, during today’s flower viewing, Consort Chen for some reason pushed Consort Ning.”
“Consort Ning’s pregnancy… I’m afraid it cannot be saved…”
Consort Ning also quickly squeezed out tears, looking at Shangguan Lin with sorrowful eyes, her lips trembling, appearing pitiful and delicate.
Just as Shangguan Lin was beginning to feel moved, a clear, childish voice immediately rang in his ears.
[No way, no way, such a low-level harem plot, and my father can actually believe it?!]
Shangguan Lin frowned slightly.
Low?
What’s low?
Although he didn’t understand this word, he understood the “harem plot” part.
He hated these kinds of things the most.
Shangguan Lin looked calmly at Consort Ning on the ground.
The slight pity he had felt earlier was now replaced entirely by impatience.
Shangguan Lin’s voice was icy cold: “What are you all standing around for? Hurry up and help Consort Ning up, call the imperial physician to examine her!”
Consort Ning and Consort Xian were suddenly stunned.
Why was the Emperor suddenly so angry?
Could it be that he was angry with Consort Chen?
Thinking this, Consort Ning and Consort Xian immediately felt relieved.
This time, Consort Chen was definitely finished!
Under the Emperor’s orders, Consort Ning was quickly carried into a palace near the Imperial Garden.
Everyone waited by the bedside for the imperial physician’s diagnosis.
Consort Xian clutched her handkerchief and began to weep beside Shangguan Lin.
“Please, Your Majesty, seek justice for Consort Ning! For Consort Ning to experience such a thing during her first pregnancy is truly too pitiful~”
“When I arrived, I only saw Consort Ning lying on the ground, with only Consort Chen and the little princess beside her…”
Shangguan Lin frowned: “You’re saying that at the time, only Consort Chen, Consort Ning, and the little princess were present?”
“Yes, Your Majesty, the truth couldn’t be clearer…”
Consort Xian wiped the tears from the corner of her eye, a dark glint flashing in her gaze.
They had planned this well in advance.
Knowing that Consort Chen disliked bringing maidservants, they waited until Consort Chen took Shangguan Sui flower viewing alone, then sent Consort Ning to deliberately appear as if she had been knocked down by Consort Chen.
After all, everyone in the rear palace knew that Fifth Princess Shangguan Sui had been poisoned and now couldn’t speak at all.
Even if Shangguan Sui saw everything, so what? She couldn’t speak and couldn’t help Consort Chen.
No one could testify for Consort Chen.
For plotting against the imperial heir, Consort Chen would surely die this time!
Hearing Consort Xian’s words, Shangguan Sui snorted angrily.
[Truth my foot! The truth is that Consort Ning deliberately staged this! She deliberately fell in front of my mother! She wanted to frame my mother!]【Consort Ning’s pregnancy was never meant to last! She just wanted to use this opportunity to harm my mother!】
【This Consort Xian is also in cahoots with Consort Ning, deliberately setting up this whole act!】
Seeing that the Emperor showed no reaction, Consort Xian immediately signaled the imperial physician with her eyes.
Physician Wang promptly clasped his hands in salute.
“Your Majesty, Consort Ning’s miscarriage was caused by an external impact, which led to the loss of the fetus…”
【You imperial physician sure know how to talk nonsense!】
【The real reason for Consort Ning’s miscarriage was the abortion medicine she drank right before going out. Can’t you even detect that?】
【Oh, I see now. You’re Consort Xian’s person, working together to frame my mother!】
Shangguan Lin:…
Why is everyone so fond of bribing imperial physicians?
Consort Li bribed Physician Zhang, and now Consort Xian bribed Physician Wang.
Does everyone just get their own personal physician?
The more Shangguan Sui thought about it, the angrier she became.
【Hmph, I thought my father was so wise and mighty, but it turns out he can be fooled by such petty tricks too!】
【A foolish emperor! A foolish emperor! He’s no longer my good daddy!】
Perhaps provoked by that cry of “foolish emperor,” Shangguan Lin immediately cast a cold, piercing gaze toward Physician Wang.
“Physician Wang, are you certain Consort Ning miscarried because of a fall?”
Physician Wang was so frightened he immediately knelt to the ground.
“This humble subject… this humble subject…”
Shangguan Lin pressed his lips together, the oppressive aura of an emperor bearing down heavily upon him.
“You should know that deceiving the emperor is a crime punishable by the extermination of nine clans.”
Cold sweat beaded on Physician Wang’s forehead.
Could the Emperor already know something?
Otherwise, he definitely wouldn’t be asking like this.
If he continued helping Consort Xian, he likely wouldn’t come to a good end.
Thinking this, Physician Wang kowtowed heavily, his forehead striking the ground with a loud thud.
“Please forgive this humble subject, Your Majesty. I did not intentionally deceive you. Consort Ning, she…”
