Congxi Facai charged headlong toward Cen Nian. He had always resigned himself to the idea that his unique taste in beauty meant he’d never find a mate in this lifetime. But who would have thought? Heaven must have taken pity on him to send this little kitten his way.

“Don’t worry, little beauty. Big Brother will treat you well.”

Cen Nian managed to read sheer lechery on a cat’s face. Just then, a trembling wing fluttered in front of him.Full novel: After I Became a Little Cat, Everyone Wanted to Cuddle Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The mother bird, dragging her injured body, resolved to fight to the death. “Run, little one!”

She then snarled at Congxi Facai, “If you want to humiliate the little one, you’ll have to step over my dead body!”

Congxi Facai opened his maw wide enough to swallow the mother bird whole. His dark blue fur made him look like an immovable mountain, his massive frame dwarfing Cen Nian and the bird.

“Anyone who stands in the way of me finding a mate… dies!”

The two sides faced off. The atmosphere grew heavy.

Cen Nian looked at the bird-mom, disabled yet resolute in protecting it, with a mixture of surprise and gratitude. At that moment, the last of its resentment vanished completely. It let out its most majestic purr from its throat and stepped forward, shielding the bird-mom behind its back.

Its small cat head was pressed almost to the ground, coiled and ready to deliver a fatal strike at any moment.

Cen Nian: “This is a battle for cats. Step back.”

Gong Xi Facai: “Gutsy, fierce, and full of spirit. I like you even more now, hehehe.”

When two cats meet, a fight is inevitable.

As if by unspoken agreement, both cats simultaneously swung their sharp claws at each other, one determined to win the beauty, the other refusing to surrender.

This was a clash of dignity and feline pride, a fight to the death.

Cen Nian opened its mouth and let out a fierce yet adorable “Meow!” Come and get some!

Just as the vastly different-sized paws were about to collide, and the pink paw pads were about to clash with the black ones, a long leg suddenly and imperiously strode into the battlefield.

The next second, Cen Nian was scooped up by Yu Shen.

Meanwhile, Gongxi Facai was dragged back by his hind legs by Yu Jia, who gave his cat head a good patting and a lecture: “What are you doing? A man who bullies his wife is looked down upon by everyone. Dad never expected you to be this kind of son. You’ve disappointed me.”

Gongxi Facai, who had been so fierce just moments ago, was now incredibly cowardly, his meows turning into a high-pitched, squeezed voice.

In contrast, Cen Nian, who had been picked up by Yu Shen, was now even fiercer. His little paws were still patting the air, scratching at Gongxi Facai from a distance, and he was meowing and purring at Yu Shen in a flurry of complaints.

“Let me go! I’m going to teach him a lesson today! I’ll make him know that this little kitten isn’t easy to bully! I’ll beat him into a real pig’s head!”

He struggled fiercely. Seeing that Gongxi Facai was under control, Yu Shen decided to put Cen Nian down. But just as he bent over to lower him, the little cat’s scratching paws suddenly wrapped around his arm. He stopped his angry meowing, his large blue eyes staring at Yu Shen with a look that said, You’re actually going to put me down? I’m so disappointed in you.

Yu Shen’s expression turned amused.

Under his gaze, Cen Nian felt a bit embarrassed. One little paw held onto his arm tightly, while the other pretended to struggle.

“Meow meow.” (Let me go, you let me go.)

Yu Shen found the sight amusing. He tried to set Cen Nian down again, but the kitten, terrified, quickly clung to him with both paws, letting out a dissatisfied meow. (Fine, since you’re so eager to break up the fight, I’ll spare that pig-cat’s life. But it’s not like I’m scared, hmph.)

Yu Shen poked the kitten’s head. What a little bully.

Now that someone responsible was here to watch the house, he still couldn’t leave the little idiot at home with that other cat. As he went to grab the cat carrier, he said to Yu Jia, who was still trying to reason with Gongxi Facai, “Stay here and take care of the two little birds. Keep an eye on your cat and don’t let it get near them.”

Yu Jia looked up. “Where are you going, Brother?”

Yu Shen set the carrier down, and Cen Nian obediently crawled inside. He had no intention of staying behind. Who would have thought he, a male cat, would face such a dangerous situation?

“The mother bird’s wing is injured. I’m taking her to the vet.”

He carefully placed the mother bird on a thick, soft folded towel, then picked up the carrier and headed for the door.

Seeing his “daughter-in-law” about to be taken away, Yu Jia pleaded, “Brother, leave my daughter-in-law here! I came all this way for her!”

Yu Shen stopped at the doorway, a hint of annoyance in his voice. “It’s a male cat.”

He walked away without looking back.

Yu Jia stood there for a moment, then sighed in disappointment. He began to comfort Gongxi Facai, “Son, Daddy didn’t know. Next time, I’ll definitely find you a little female cat.”

Gongxi Facai, with his chubby cheeks, meowed aggrievedly, “Meow…” (But I like males!)

This time, Yu Shen went to the nearest pet hospital. It was actually quite crowded, and as soon as he entered, it was a noisy mess of people talking and animals calling out.

Yu Shen took a number. There was still one person ahead of him, so he had to wait.

He looked at the kitten in the cat carrier. The little thing curiously pressed its face against the mesh, its soft fur poking through, dividing its face into a grid.

“I’ll let you out, but you can’t run around,” Yu Shen said.

Cen Nian understood but could only pretend he didn’t, giving a half-hearted meow in response.

Yu Shen lifted Cen Nian out of the carrier, but he didn’t put him on the ground. He cradled the bird mom in one hand and held Cen Nian in the other.

Cen Nian listened curiously to the animals’ conversations, which felt like a massive complaint session.

Two cats nearby were exchanging grievances.

“Ugh, my owner’s perfume is so strong. It chokes me to death every time.”

“Sigh, don’t even get me started. My human’s natural scent is even stronger, and they’re always trying to cuddle with me.”

A dog sitting below snorted in disdain. “You rely on them for food and shelter, yet you talk trash behind their backs. I despise your kind. If you’re so tough, go out and make a living on your own!”

The two cats and the dog immediately broke into a heated argument. A parrot perched a bit further away watched the commotion with glee, egging them on: “Fight! Fight! Left hook! Right hook! Give ’em two punches to the balls!”

Just as the parrot was cheering at the top of its lungs, a small yellow snake slithered up its perch, flicking its tongue. “Your feathers are so beautiful. Can I have them?”

The parrot shrieked in terror and flapped its wings, flying away in a panic. Its owner, who had been staring at his phone, finally looked up. Seeing the snake on the perch, he jumped back in fright, slammed his leg against the chair, and clutched his shin in pain. Then, he scrambled to chase after his parrot.

The snake’s owner rushed over with a box, quickly grabbing the snake. “Didn’t I tell you not to wander off? A little creature like you needs to keep a low profile.”

Every corner of the waiting room was buzzing with activity; Cen Nian couldn’t take it all in.

Just then, the humans decided to join the chaos. A young man shouted at the reception desk, “You lost my stuff in your store, so you have to take responsibility! That’s a brand-new Grape Phone I just bought; I hadn’t even taken it out of the box yet!”

The commotion was so great that everyone, humans and animals alike, stopped talking and craned their necks to watch.

The “Welcome to the Pet Hospital” chime rang out clearly. Cen Nian turned her large blue eyes toward the door that had just closed, spotting a man in a white vest hurrying away.

A staff member was trying to calm the angry customer: “We’re checking the security footage…”

A little white rabbit emerged from an examination room, making a hissing, tooth-grinding sound. “Stop shouting! The thief just ran out, the man in the white vest.”

Cen Nian acted before she could think. With a whoosh, she leaped from Yu Shen’s arm and dashed toward the door. She couldn’t let the thief get away!

Yu Shen, completely caught off guard, immediately darkened his expression.

Great. She’s running off again.

And this time, she wasn’t even trying to sneak away; she was running right out in the open.

He stood up.

As someone else opened the door to enter, Cen Nian successfully slipped outside. Her large blue eyes were fixed on the little thief. She had completely forgotten she was just a kitten with a combat power of 1; all she could think about was catching the thief. The blood of a hero’s child had fully awakened!
