The situation on the field had grown complicated. The four blindfolded participants, the mischievous little girl giggling from behind a tree, and Leng Yueli, who was all too eager to devour Luo Chenxuan, made for a strange mix.
Luo Chenxuan didn’t dare make a sound. He let Leng Yueli kiss him as if he had accepted his fate, yet his teeth remained clenched tight. Leng Yueli opened her eyes slightly and found it amusing. She continued trying to break down Luo Chenxuan’s resistance, her hands wandering restlessly over him.
Every second felt like an eternity. Just as Leng Yueli’s breathing grew heavier and her face flushed, the little girl’s voice rang out, announcing the end of the round. Jiang Wan’s second round was over.
The blindfolds came off, and everyone reselected their hiding spots. Luo Chenxuan glanced around but saw no sign of Leng Yueli. Letting out a long sigh, he moved to hide behind another tree.
The third round began. Once again, two players started a random argument, Luo Chenxuan tried to mediate, and Jiang Wan ran around in confusion, like a headless fly stuck in the middle.
“Hey~ big brother!” a voice suddenly rang in Luo Chenxuan’s ear while he was still blindfolded.
“Were you just doing naughty things with a beautiful sister? I saw it, but something blocked my view, so I couldn’t see clearly. What a shame~”
“We didn’t do anything.”
“Eh? That’s impossible. Her face was completely red when she left.”
“Really? Then do you remember what she looked like?”
“I didn’t see clearly, but I think she must have been beautiful!”
“Hmm~ I didn’t expect you to see us. Then big brother will tell you something else, okay?”
“What is it, what is it?” The little girl sounded excited, clearly interested in this sort of thing.
“It’s—” Luo Chenxuan took a deep breath and suddenly shouted, “Jiang Wan! Run toward me! Touch the tree to my right!”
Everything went quiet in an instant. Jiang Wan immediately understood and dashed toward Luo Chenxuan, quickly touching the tree on his right.
“Ugh! Big brother, you tricked me!” the little girl shouted.
Luo Chenxuan had struck up the conversation only to pinpoint her exact location.
If his guess was right, the little girl’s hiding spot could be moved at will.
After the second round ended, worried about being discovered, Luo Chenxuan had tried peeking behind each tree. Because the trees were wide, there were only two trees from which one could see the spot where he and Leng Yueli had kissed—one to the left, one to the right.
On his right was Li Hao, who was too focused on arguing with Wang Tianwen to notice anything happening near Luo Chenxuan. On the left, if Leng Yueli had seen a child standing nearby, she wouldn’t have kissed him so boldly—or at least that’s what Luo Chenxuan thought.
More importantly, the girl said she couldn’t clearly see what happened because something blocked her view. The left side would’ve had a clear line of sight, so the only way she couldn’t see was if she was hiding behind Li Hao, on his side.
Putting all that together, Luo Chenxuan realized the rules only restricted the players. The little girl could move freely and even share a hiding spot with someone else.
The third round ended.
The group removed their blindfolds, and the little girl began announcing the scores.
“The big sister’s final score is…” Everyone held their breath. “11 points.”
Jiang Wan was overjoyed. That was a very high score for them.
Li Hao laughed mercilessly. “Hahahaha! Fierce-face bro, how come you didn’t get a single point?”
Wang Tianwen shot an angry look at Jiang Wan. She just shrugged helplessly. “You two were yelling so much I couldn’t tell who was who, so I just touched someone at random.”
“That’s impossible! You can still tell left from right, can’t you? Otherwise, how did you hear that guy’s hint?” Li Hao fanned the flames.
“What’s wrong? Can’t handle losing, Wang family’s young master? Gonna bully a girl now?”
Seeing the tension rise, Luo Chenxuan quickly stepped in. “So in the first round, Jiang Wan chose me because those two were in a deadlock and she wanted a compromise. In the second round, I didn’t make any noise, so she picked randomly. In the third round, she picked the little girl. Right?”
“Wow~ big brother is really smart.”
“So who will you pick to be the ghost next round?”
“Hmm… that chubby brother.” She pointed at Li Hao.
“Alright! Then let me show you all what I’ve got!” Li Hao said, not forgetting to tease the red-faced Wang Tianwen, “Fierce-face bro, make sure you speak up this time~”
Li Hao’s first round began.
He spun five times on the spot, then plopped to the ground. Dizzy, he stumbled back up, seeing stars and struggling to tell directions. Still, he called out loudly, “Bro! Where are you? Say something!”
Luo Chenxuan, unaware of Li Hao’s disorientation, shouted, “I’m over here!”
But Li Hao, completely turned around, headed to Luo Chenxuan’s left.
Luo Chenxuan continued calling, oblivious. The other two stayed unusually silent.
In the second round, Luo Chenxuan asked Jiang Wan to speak, and Li Hao walked in her direction—but still off course.
In the third round, Luo Chenxuan suggested Wang Tianwen speak, but prideful as ever, he refused.
So in the end, Li Hao picked Luo Chenxuan again. Since this was a team game, it didn’t matter who got the points.
Three rounds passed, and the little girl announced the scores.
“Okay~ chubby brother’s score, including the previous round, is…” Li Hao was ecstatic.
“This time I’m getting something good to eat!”
“7 points.”
Silence.
“How much?”
“Seven~” the little girl replied with an innocent smile.
“Why?!”
She ignored him.
“How much?!” Li Hao shouted the same words again.
“Are you kidding me?” Wang Tianwen looked shocked, but the smile on his face was hard to hide.
“So that means… he touched you twice and missed once. Right?”
“Yep~”
“Impossible! I clearly—”
“You hobbled like a zombie in the wrong direction the entire time.”
“Huh?” both Li Hao and Wang Tianwen exclaimed.
“In the first round, you went to the tree on brother’s left—fierce-face brother was behind it. Second round, you went to the tree on sister’s right—also fierce-face brother. Third round, you went left again, but that tree had no one.”
Li Hao stood frozen.
Now the smile moved to Wang Tianwen’s face. “Hahahaha! Truly a double display of skills! You can’t even tell directions! But seriously, thank you!”
Jiang Wan patted Li Hao’s shoulder. “It’s okay. In the end, our total score is what counts. Overall, you still did fine.”
Li Hao was touched. “Really, class monitor? I’ll make it up to you next time! This round I just messed up a bit.”
Jiang Wan’s face turned cold. “I believe I already gave you enough credit.”
Li Hao immediately burst into tears. “None of you believe in me! But my best bro does, right?”
Luo Chenxuan stifled his laughter and nodded.
“You just wait! Next time I’ll score a ton of points and totally shut you all up!”
The next round began. The ghost was Wang Tianwen.
The game started. The three players each made a sound.
Wang Tianwen, upon hearing them, deliberately walked in the opposite direction.
He had no intention of giving anyone else points. He had thought it through—how could he get points without helping others?
By catching the little girl.
Excluding the three trees where voices came from, three remained. A 1-in-3 chance. If he picked wrong, he’d lose 2 points, but if he guessed right, he’d get 5—still a net gain.
That was his ridiculous logic. What he failed to notice was that the little girl could move freely—even hide behind someone else’s tree.
Meanwhile, Gui Hu—Lou Yuxi—who had spent the whole morning on the road, had finally arrived at the Sunset Ocean Hotel.
