Hua Xian froze for a moment, then handed the piece of braised pork she was chewing to Chi Meng. Fortunately, she had not yet swallowed it, so giving it to her was no big deal.

She just did not understand Chi Meng’s intention in doing this. Could it be that the meat in her mouth somehow tasted better?

Hua Xian was amused by her own absurd thought.Full novel: After Jilting the Obsessive Villain [Quick Transmigration] — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Chi Meng curled the meat into her mouth, intentionally leaning toward Hua Xian, her eyes slightly curved: “The braised pork from older sister’s mouth is truly delicious.”

Hua Xian: “… I am glad you like it.”

Abnormal. This is too abnormal! It is completely different from her usual self. Is she plotting another ‘scheme’?

Hua Xian did not want to think ill of the woman, but Chi Meng’s mind was simply too difficult to fathom. You never knew what she would do next.

Chi Meng’s mood, however, remained stable, as if the previous gloom had faded. There was no sign of any illness.

“Older sister, I would like to eat that.” Chi Meng pointed to the boiled fish, gazing at Hua Xian with clear eyes.

Hua Xian could not resist that kind of look, so she was naturally happy to debone the fish for her and place the meat in her bowl.

“Thank you, older sister. You are so kind~”

Nanzhi’s grip on her chopsticks tightened. She furiously mashed the fish meat in her bowl. Eat fish? What is so good about fish?! Does it taste as good as dog food?! No, it does not!!!

Watching the sickeningly affectionate pair, how could Nanzhi possibly have the appetite to eat? Wait, I am not even worthy of eating; I am only fit to be a lonely dog.

Chi Meng glanced at the spicy shrimp, then turned to look at Hua Xian, her eyes sparkling like clear autumn water. It was as if she had said something, yet said nothing at all. Hua Xian immediately understood her meaning, directly used her hands to peel the shrimp, and placed all the peeled shrimp into her bowl, smiling as though she had won the lottery.

“Eat up.”

Chi Meng ate with grace. Halfway through, she looked up and asked Nanzhi, “Miss Nan, why aren’t you eating? Oh, right, you probably aren’t used to this plain home cooking.”

Nanzhi: “???” What a cup of twenty-year-old strong tea!

Chi Meng ignored Nanzhi’s expression and turned back to Hua Xian: “I love everything older sister makes.”

Hua Xian looked at her stunningly beautiful face, her heart fluttering, having completely forgotten the existence of a third person in the house.

Nanzhi’s upbringing forbade her from flipping the table, but watching the two women being so sickeningly sweet was unbearable. One more second and she would be infuriated to death.

“I am full. Please enjoy your meal.” Saying this, she stood up and walked away without looking back.

Hua Xian realized she had neglected Nanzhi and quickly said, “Zhizhi, why don’t you sit for a bit? I will take you back later.”

Nanzhi waved her hands in terror: “No, no, thank you! I can take the subway back very quickly.”

Even if she were given more courage, she would not dare let Hua Xian take her home. She had had enough of Chi Meng’s soft-spoken cruelty. The woman was clearly a black lotus, yet only Hua Xian thought she was a pure, unpretentious white flower.

This was no longer just a case of “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”; she had been utterly blinded by love.

Ptooey! A love-struck fool!

Nanzhi scoffed contemptuously, then swiftly fled this place reeking of the sour stench of romance.

After she left, the dynamic between the two people in the room also changed.

Chi Meng put down her chopsticks, shedding her soft, sweet demeanor. She said faintly, “These dishes taste mediocre. Eating too much of them is like chewing wax.”

Hua Xian: “???” But you just said you loved everything I made…

The change was too sudden for Hua Xian’s mind to keep up. Chi Meng, however, paid no attention. She was about to get up and leave, but as soon as she put a little pressure on her foot, a jolt of pain reminded her that her ankle was still swollen.

“Stop looking. If you are really worried, then go with her. But take me upstairs first before you do.”

Hua Xian: “… I only stood up out of politeness. My foot has not moved an inch. What are you even talking about?”

Although she felt wronged, she still had to do what was necessary. She picked up Chi Meng and walked steadily up the stairs.

Chi Meng symbolically hooked her arms around Hua Xian’s neck, but maintained a certain distance, her eyes lowered, lost in thought.

Once in the master bedroom, Hua Xian applied medicine to Chi Meng’s foot again. After finishing, she covered her with the blanket and instructed her to rest well.

“I am going downstairs to tidy the kitchen. Call me if you need anything.”

Hua Xian rose to leave. Chi Meng suddenly hooked her neck and pressed her down onto the bed with the back of her hand.

“Be careful of your foot!”

Chi Meng looked at her, her eyes deep and contemplative. After a long moment, she said, “I drove your dear little sister away. Are you angry?”

Hua Xian sighed helplessly and pulled her into her embrace, “My dear little sister is only you.”

Chi Meng’s eyes darkened, and her voice was low: “Sweet talk!”

The two were extremely close. When Chi Meng spoke, her warm breath completely fanned Hua Xian’s neck, causing her to tremble slightly. But considering Chi Meng’s injured foot, she restrained herself and subtly shifted a small distance away from Chi Meng.

Chi Meng noticed her small movement and said with a half-smile, “So resistant to being close to me?”

“No, your foot…”

Chi Meng did not give her a chance to explain. She opened her mouth and bit down on Hua Xian’s lip, rubbing against it with measured force.

Hua Xian was utterly powerless to resist and quickly became lost in the kiss. She subconsciously reached out to embrace Chi Meng’s waist, but Chi Meng pushed her away.

“You go downstairs and tidy the kitchen. I need to rest.”

Hua Xian: “???” You told me this after I took off my pants?!

In the end, she went downstairs, battling the turmoil within her. The cups, dishes, and chopsticks all looked wrong to her, and she accidentally dropped and broke several.

After she finished tidying up, the once clear sky was suddenly swept by a fierce wind. Dark clouds hung low, as if the entire city was about to be submerged in the next second.

Hua Xian was afraid Chi Meng would not sleep well, so she warmed a cup of milk for her. Chi Meng looked up at her, said faintly, “Put it down.”

Seeing that the woman did not want to speak to her, Hua Xian wisely retreated to her own room. Just as she was beginning to feel drowsy, a clap of thunder sounded, instantly jolting her wide awake.

A moment later, a knock came at the door, sounding particularly eerie in the dark space, accompanied by the rumble of thunder.

Hua Xian walked over and opened the door. Chi Meng was standing there, hugging a pillow, looking at her without saying a word.

“Were you afraid? Come in quickly.”

Chi Meng moved to Hua Xian’s side, a flicker of inscrutable emotion passing through her eyes.
