The wedding was held at a private manor owned by the Huo family on The Peak in Hong Kong.
On the day of the ceremony, only media outlets under the Huo Group were invited to cover the event. An official press release would be issued once the wedding concluded.
Although the preparations had been rushed, the combined power of the Huo and Wen families ensured that this wedding was far from ordinary.
Wen Yun’an’s friends were in the lounge, drinking and looking somewhat dejected.
They had received the wedding invitations long ago, with the names Wen Yun’an and Huo Yuheng printed on them.
They certainly knew who Huo Yuheng was; they had even attended his lecture at the academy just a few days prior. However, Huo Yuheng’s reputation for being aloof and unapproachable made it seem impossible for him to be Wen Yun’an’s spouse. They had dismissed the invitation as a mere coincidence of names.
It was not until today, when they were picked up by a chauffeured luxury car and driven all the way to Hong Kong, that they began to sense something was wrong.
Although their own families were wealthy, living on The Peak in Hong Kong, especially in a manor, was a level of economic status that could not simply be described as rich.
When they arrived at the wedding venue and saw Huo Yuheng and Wen Yun’an appear together, both dressed in white suits, they fell silent.
So, the Alpha Wen Yun’an was marrying really was Huo Yuheng.
While marrying Huo Yuheng was undoubtedly better than marrying some other Alpha, their Little An was so naive. He had not even been in a relationship before! How could he possibly handle a man like Huo Yuheng?
Taking advantage of a moment when Huo Yuheng stepped away, the group quickly pulled him aside.
“Xiao An, are you really going to marry Huo Yuheng?”
“I knew Alphas were all putting on an act! Even Huo Yuheng cannot help but fall for our Xiao An!”
“Does he have something on you? Did he force you?”
“Or is this just a forced marriage for the sake of family interests?”
What were they talking about? None of those strange reasons were true!
Wen Yun’an felt dizzy from all the questions. “That is not it at all. I am the one who wants to marry him.”
His friends slapped their foreheads, feeling a sense of impending doom.
Even before Wen Yun’an presented as an omega, many Alphas at the academy had secretly liked him. They just had not had the chance to approach him before his brothers blocked them. Back then, they had felt the Wen brothers were overly protective.
It was not until Wen Yun’an took a short leave that many Alphas guessed he might have presented as an omega and began harboring unrealistic delusions again.
They had been worried that Wen Yun’an, with his rabbit-like innocence, would be carried off by someone sooner or later.
Well, now it had happened. The pure, adorable little white rabbit had walked straight into the tiger’s den without even realizing it, and he had even put his marriage on eight-times speed!
The friends babbled on, but in the end, they could not come up with any sensible conclusion.
Before Wen Yun’an could explain further, a familiar hand rested on his shoulder. The pressure was perfectly controlled; it alerted him to someone’s presence behind him without causing any pain.
Huo Yuheng’s voice carried a hint of a smile. His eyes, fixed on the Alphas in front of his little omega, also held a polite, smiling warmth: “What are you all chatting about?”
Only those who were also Alphas could understand how terrifying Huo Yuheng’s fake smile was, even without him using his pheromones to suppress them.
“Ha, haha. Nothing, nothing at all. Congratulations on your wedding!” they could only respond with awkward laughter.
“Thank you,” Huo Yuheng replied, looking polite yet distant. “Thank you for taking care of him in the past.”
Huo Yuheng’s words sounded fine on the surface, but they carried an underlying meaning, like a great tiger showing off the little rabbit it had just caught.
The friends: “…”
“Come with me.” Huo Yuheng withdrew his hand and leaned in to whisper in his ear. His voice was deep, and his warm breath brushed against the sensitive skin of his earlobe. The distance was so close it made Wen Yun’an shiver.
When he turned back, Huo Yuheng simply and naturally took his hand to lead him away from the crowd.
It was a chilly late autumn evening, but his hand felt warm and comfortable held in Huo Yuheng’s grip.
“Mr. Huo, what is wrong?” After saying goodbye to his friends, he followed Huo Yuheng obediently.
To accommodate his pace, Huo Yuheng did not walk quickly.
“Watch your step, there are too many people here,” Huo Yuheng said, squeezing his soft palm without looking back. “Follow me.”
In the newlyweds’ lounge, the curtains were drawn shut. Huo Yuheng sat down beside him: “Do you need to take an inhibitor today?”
“Um, today is a special occasion, so I need to take a booster shot…” He had been a bit nervous this morning and had forgotten about it. The doctor was waiting for him, but he found himself resisting the idea of the injection.
“So, have you taken the inhibitor?”
“I forgot…”
“Wen Yun’an.” Huo Yuheng looked at him very seriously.
Seeing Huo Yuheng so stern, he was so startled he almost stood to attention: “What is it?”
“Do you want to try using my pheromones to soothe you instead?”
“Oh. Ah?”
“Taking high-strength inhibitors so frequently is indeed not good for your health. Your family has mentioned that your body is quite delicate.”
“I have already consulted a doctor. Although using pheromones is not as effective long-term as other methods, it can reduce the frequency with which you need to take inhibitors.”
“Besides, you are afraid of pain, are you not?”
Huo Yuheng’s reasoning was sound.
“Um…”
In his heart, Huo Yuheng was truly different from other Alphas; he was so thoughtful!
“Also,” Huo Yuheng paused, as if thinking of something, and added, “The wedding ceremony might require intimate interaction. If we perform the pheromone soothing now, it should help ease your nervousness.”
“Um. Huh??” He looked up in surprise.
Intimate interaction? How intimate? The most they had done so far was hold hands and get close.
Huo Yuheng’s tone remained calm, his deep voice vibrating against Wen Yun’an’s eardrums.
“I might kiss you.”
So, it was a kiss! He had never been kissed before!
Wen Yun’an’s eyes widened as he stared directly at Huo Yuheng.
“You can get used to it in advance,” Huo Yuheng said casually, as if he were discussing a simple work task.
Wen Yun’an felt that what Huo Yuheng said made perfect sense.
“Thank you, Mr. Huo. Then, give me a little of your pheromones?” He braced his hands on the sofa and shifted closer to Huo Yuheng, looking at him with eyes full of gratitude.
His eyes sparkled as he fluttered his thick eyelashes and asked expectantly: “Mr. Huo, should I close my eyes?”
At such close range, even his breath carried a sweet fragrance. As he spoke, his lips parted slightly, revealing a glimpse of his pink tongue.
Huo Yuheng froze. This little omega still did not realize that his behavior was problematic. How could he be so innocent and so alluring? Even earlier, he had just followed along because he was told to.
It was fortunate that the person he was marrying was himself, and not some other beastly Alpha.
“No need to close your eyes. I am just releasing my pheromones to soothe you.”
“Oh. Okay!”
