23 – Miss him a little

Xu Ni’s reaction was truly astonishing.

She shut the door with remarkable speed, even managing to lock it, then tossed the knife back toward Chu Song’s side. Her expression was serious: “There are many people outside. Making a scene wouldn’t be good.”Full novel: After Mistakenly Provoking the Big Shot, She Became the First Lady of the Beijing Circle — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She had no idea what Chu Song was doing.

But the man being restrained by Chu Song had already turned pale and purple, looking as if he were about to suffocate. Meanwhile, Chu Song remained calm and composed, with only a thin scratch on his cheek oozing blood. He still maintained the carefree, elegant demeanor he displayed on screen.

Yet the scene inside the room was anything but trivial. Blood was already seeping into the carpet. If she hadn’t come in, would Chu Song have really dared to…

Xu Ni hissed softly.

Maybe…

Should she call the police first?

She was just a fan, after all. She hadn’t done anything.

Chu Song naturally didn’t miss the dramatic shifts in Xu Ni’s expression. This was rather interesting. Shouldn’t a normal person be terrified and run away? Or scream and draw a crowd?

But her.

First, she closed the door.

Then immediately showed a look of regret.

Chu Song released the man and lazily leaned against the sofa, wiping the blood from his hands. “What a shame. It seems you’ve accidentally become my accomplice, miss.”

Xu Ni: “Oh, so you’re that kind of black-hearted scoundrel.”

Chu Song immediately laughed, his peach-blossom eyes curving. “Just joking. He’s not dead.”

Xu Ni frowned. “Then what’s this about?”

Chu Song stood up, tall and long-legged, his tone indifferent. “An assassin sent to kill me. Believe it?”

Xu Ni suddenly understood. “And you turned the tables? Even movies wouldn’t dare write it like that.”

Chu Song curved his lips, offering no explanation.

He simply said, “But I’m afraid you’ve seen something you shouldn’t have. You understand how these things go, right?”

Xu Ni nodded thoughtfully. “Got it.”

Then.

She quickly pulled out her phone, opened the camera, and aimed it at Chu Song and the man on the floor. “Then I’ll keep some evidence. In movies, people who witness scenes like this usually end up dead. Right now, it’s just you and me here. If you try anything, I’ll still have time to send the video out.”

Chu Song laughed, though his eyes were dark. “What are you doing?”

Xu Ni: “Playing dirty against dirty.”

“…”

He really had never met a girl like this.

Her attitude changed eight hundred times a minute, and her ability to flip sides was simply unmatched.

Xu Ni didn’t see anything wrong with it.

She was Chu Song’s devoted fan, but she wasn’t an idiot. Was she supposed to share life and death with her idol?

In this world, men couldn’t be trusted—especially the flashy, handsome ones. Ugh, they were the most poisonous.

Chu Song narrowed his eyes. He truly found this girl interesting.

He rolled up his sleeves. “Do you know me?”

Xu Ni: “I’m your fan. I even know what color underwear you like to wear.”

Chu Song paused, glancing at her hand holding the phone. “A devoted fan?”

And she’d do something like exposing her idol?

Xu Ni: “Maybe not so devoted anymore.”

Chu Song laughed, his smile enchanting. “Well, there’s no helping it then. Since you have leverage over me, I definitely can’t do anything to you. How about this—take me to the hospital first?”

As he spoke.

He raised his hand.

There was actually a deep gash on his arm.

It was still bleeding, looking utterly horrifying, yet he didn’t seem to feel any pain and could still chat and laugh casually.

Xu Ni suddenly thought.

This man, really, was something else.

Chu Song said, “My current situation isn’t suitable for others to see, so I might have to trouble you.”

Xu Ni finally put away her phone. After all, he was her idol—she couldn’t bear to leave him in the lurch.

She asked, “Can you go out now?”

Chu Song replied, “Do you know how to jump out of a window?”

Xu Ni: “??”

What the hell is your relationship with Fu Guidu?!

Why are you both so obsessed with windows?!

In the end.

Xu Ni watched as Chu Song, acting as if nothing was wrong, climbed out of the window, found the nearby tree along the windowsill, and landed smoothly on the ground.

Xu Ni: “Impressive.”

Chu Song looked up at her, signaling for her to come down.

Xu Ni immediately closed the window, cutting off his view.

Then she calmly walked out, locked the door, and leisurely made her way downstairs.

She hadn’t done anything wrong—why should she jump too?

Watching Xu Ni stroll out unhurriedly, Chu Song took a closer look at her.

For the first time, he saw the phrase “steady as an old dog” embodied in a girl.

Xu Ni got into Chu Song’s car.

It was her first time driving a luxury car worth tens of millions. “If it gets scratched or dented later…”

Chu Song said, “I’ll take care of it.”

“Fair enough.” Xu Ni immediately stepped on the gas.

If Chu Song hadn’t fastened his seatbelt tightly, he felt like he would have flown through the windshield.

Was this really someone worried about scratching the car?

Was she having too much fun driving??

About ten minutes later.

They arrived at the hospital.

Chu Song looked up at the glowing hospital sign.

He narrowed his eyes slightly: “Jingsheng Hospital, huh…”

Xu Ni got out of the car: “What’s wrong? It’s the best hospital—I guarantee you won’t be left with a scar.”

Chu Song smiled faintly: “It’s nothing.”

Given that Chu Song was a massively popular superstar, going directly to the noisy emergency room wasn’t ideal.

He would definitely be recognized.

Thinking of this.

Xu Ni remembered Fu Guidu.

She found his number and dialed without hesitation.

After a while, he answered: “Who is this?”

His voice was clear and detached, low and incredibly pleasant.

Xu Ni’s heart tightened. Since their last meeting at the hotel, over a week had passed without any contact or seeing each other. Hearing his voice again made her feel all her hairs stand on end, inexplicably nervous and uneasy.

“It’s me…”

There was a subtle pause on the other end: “Hmm?”

That faint, almost inaudible “hmm” nearly made Xu Ni’s legs give way.

She had to admit—a man like Fu Guidu was born to be trouble.

She coughed heavily a few times to hide her flustered state: “I’m downstairs at your hospital. I’m a bit injured—my arm is cut and the bleeding won’t stop. The emergency room isn’t very convenient. Can you help me?”

After another few seconds of silence.

He finally said: “Come up.”

Xu Ni breathed a huge sigh of relief and motioned for Chu Song to follow: “Let’s go! I know someone here—I’ll take you through the back door.”

Chu Song raised an eyebrow: “Your friend?”

Xu Ni hesitated, her thoughts drifting.

She wasn’t even sure what her current situation with Fu Guidu was.

Fu Guidu’s attitude toward her was just too… normal.

They made their way upstairs.

As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, they saw a nurse standing at the door. Without looking too closely, she asked: “Are you Miss Xu?”

Xu Ni felt a pang of disappointment at not seeing him.

“Yes.”

“Please follow me this way. The examination room is on the other side.”

Xu Ni instinctively glanced toward the more secluded corner—that was where Fu Guidu’s office was.

Chu Song, the one actually injured, showed no discomfort and walked ahead on his own.

The doctor who received them was a stranger.

After seeing Chu Song’s condition, they immediately proceeded with the suturing.

Xu Ni, however, was in a bad mood.

She had deliberately made it vague so that Fu Guidu would think she was injured, yet Fu Guidu actually…

Did! Not! Come! See! Her!

Heartless old dog!
