9 – That is my first kiss
Equestrian clubs have always been one of the leisure activities for the wealthy.
Even entertainment is divided by class. At the more ordinary level, people mingle with influencers; at higher levels, female celebrities and supermodels can be summoned at will.
Those who appear glamorous in the eyes of ordinary people are merely playthings for the powerful behind the scenes.
Inside the venue, music played continuously.
Outside, the thundering of galloping horses and the coquettish screams of beauties rose and fell in waves.
Lu Xingye glanced down at his phone, still remarking, “That kid Cheng Yang has already switched to his third beauty for a horseback ride. Aren’t you going to join the fun?”
Across from him.
It was none other than Fu Guidu.
He wore a casual black shirt, its collar unbuttoned to reveal a seductive Adam’s apple and sharply defined collarbones. Yet, it was impossible for anyone to feel any frivolous thoughts—he was too lofty, so much so that even approaching him required thorough mental preparation.
“Quite a few were invited,” Fu Guidu remarked, taking a sip of his drink.
Lu Xingye chuckled, “It’s all just casual fun. What’s the point of just a few guys hanging out? Now that you’re back in the country, isn’t your old man pushing you to get married? With the Fu family’s vast legacy, you’ll only fully control it once you’re married. Otherwise, which of your siblings is truly reliable?”
They both understood.
In their eyes, marriage was nothing more than a tool for strategy and gain.
Fu Guidu remained silent.
His gaze was indifferent.
For some reason, Lu Xingye frowned, turned off his phone, and tossed it onto the table.
Immediately, a beauty clung to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and cooing.
Lu Xingye smirked, effortlessly slipping into his playboy persona.
Fu Guidu finished the drink in front of him and stood up to change into his riding attire in the locker room.
The locker rooms were divided by gender, one on the left and one on the right.
Just as he was about to enter, he heard a commotion from the women’s locker room—women’s screams rising and falling.
Everyone knew what was happening.
His steps didn’t falter, nor was he surprised.
He entered the men’s locker room.
At that moment, no one else was inside.
Facing the mirror, he unbuttoned his shirt and removed it.
Just as he was about to undo his belt buckle.
Fu Guidu lifted his dark lashes. “Come out.”
His voice was clear and cold, intimidating even when devoid of emotion.
Still, there was no movement.
Fu Guidu swiftly pulled open the door of the locker in front of him.
Suddenly, he met the slightly startled eyes of a woman.
She was curled up inside the locker, one hand still tugging at the sleeve of her riding jacket, halfway pulled up but not fully on. Her delicate shoulder was partially exposed, the strap of her top slipping down, her cool, fair skin flushed red from the heat.
The two of them faced each other in this state of “disheveled attire.”
Xu Ni’s gaze drifted downward.
Below his chest muscles, his abs were evenly defined, and even his Adonis belt was strikingly clear.
Xu Ni: “…What a coincidence, undressing, huh?”
She was genuinely caught off guard by the situation, so the words just slipped out.
Earlier, when she went to the women’s locker room, she had just taken off her outer clothes when she heard the sounds from the adjacent stall. Standing there was too awkward, and since the men’s locker room seemed quiet, she thought she’d quickly change here and leave.
Who would have thought?
Someone showed up halfway.
Frustrated, she hid in the locker again.
And now.
She was faced with this situation.
Xu Ni sighed inwardly.
This was probably fate lending her a hand.
This was probably destiny.
Fu Guidu looked at her, then after a moment, turned to change on the other side.
Xu Ni quickly changed her clothes.
When she came out, Fu Guidu was nowhere to be seen.
Xu Ni pondered.
Could it be that even a super tycoon like him would feel shy after being seen half-naked?
She searched for a while before finally spotting him near the stables at the edge of the riding field.
Xu Ni walked over.
Fu Guidu stood before an exceptionally beautiful black horse. The sight of the man and the horse together exuded an overwhelming sense of nobility.
Xu Ni maintained a calm expression, humbly seeking advice: “I haven’t been learning for long. How should I choose a horse?”
Fu Guidu replied, “All the horses here are trained. Any one of them is the same.”
Xu Ni immediately pointed at the horse in front of him, speaking softly, “Then I’ll ride this one, okay?”
There was a brief, almost imperceptible pause.
He gave her an inscrutable glance.
Xu Ni could naturally tell that this horse looked taller and more beautiful. Horses were particular creatures, and bloodlines mattered greatly. A fine steed could be distinguished at a glance.
She just wanted to take advantage of his.
Fu Guidu remained silent.
Xu Ni smiled, “Horses can be hard to tame, and you’re a doctor, so I imagine you don’t have much time for exercise. I can test it out for you first. After all, I’m tough.”
She hadn’t even died on the second floor.
She was pretty awesome.
But in Fu Guidu’s eyes, her words were…
sarcastic and mocking.
Fu Guidu let out an almost imperceptible, faint scoff and stepped aside for her. “Be my guest.”
Deep down, Xu Ni was actually a bit nervous. Her equestrian skills were average—she’d taken fewer than three lessons in total. This horse was taller than any she’d ridden before. Just climbing onto it was an ordeal.
She struggled to adjust her seating position.
Trying not to twist awkwardly in front of him, which would be unsightly.
But Xu Ni didn’t realize.
It was precisely because she cared about her image that her movements became even more awkward. Fu Guidu simply watched as she struggled to climb up, her foot slipping in the stirrup, until she ended up with one leg stuck in the stirrup’s gap, her rear end awkwardly raised toward him, leaving her neither fully on nor off the horse.
After a long moment, the woman slowly turned her head, her gaze calm. “Is it perky?”
Fu Guidu’s expression remained unchanged.
He showed no intention of moving.
Xu Ni took a deep breath. “How about I give you an opportunity?”
He tilted his head slightly.
Xu Ni said, “Give it a lift. See if my glutes are well-developed.”
She couldn’t free herself.
Blame it on her legs being too slender. A beauty’s sigh.
For some unknown reason.
He actually tugged the corner of his lips into a faint, inscrutable smile.
Xu Ni: Huh?
What’s the matter?
Perhaps the horse sensed the awkward atmosphere.
Suddenly, it let out a long neigh and kicked its hind legs.
Xu Ni: ?
She quickly tumbled downward.
Just as her face was about to hit the ground.
The reins were snatched from her hands. A swift figure leaped up, grabbing her shoulder without interrupting his own mounting of the horse. A low voice murmured near her ear, “King.”
Xu Ni immediately regained her balance and settled firmly into the saddle.
As he spoke, the horse seemed to calm down somewhat.
But it still galloped at a fast pace. Xu Ni’s back slammed against the chest of the person behind her due to the momentum.
The sleek, black-maned steed raced against the wind.
Her scream caught in her throat.
Her hands, however, quickly found their place, wrapping around the man’s lean, powerful waist. She turned and nestled into his embrace, tears streaming in the wind, whimpering as she opened her mouth, “Wuwuwu…”
An innocent, delicate flower—this was the state she should be in according to the usual script.
She was a director.
She could act too.
Three parts real, seven parts performance. No emotions, just technique.
This didn’t last long.
When they stopped by the side, Xu Ni withdrew her hands, embodying the persona of the delicate flower as she whispered weakly, “Thank you for your heroic rescue.”
Fu Guidu dismounted.
In just a few minutes.
He had seen her shift through countless expressions.
“You’re welcome.”
He turned to tie up the horse.
Xu Ni muttered to herself as she climbed down, stepping on the stirrup.
After all, he didn’t seem to have any intention of continuing the romantic drama by carrying her down.
Fu Guidu had already walked in another direction.
Xu Ni, unwilling to be outdone, followed.
She hadn’t gotten his WeChat yet, nor his phone number—wouldn’t that mean she came for nothing?
Before she could take two steps.
Fu Guidu stopped and turned to look at her: “Miss Xu, is there anything else?”
But this man’s emotions were too cold.
Xu Ni, not knowing what came over her, blinked and said: “That was my first kiss.”
“…”
