“Qianqian, wait for me…”

After leaving the restaurant, Lin Mo hurried after Su Qianqian.

Since she was pushing her wheelchair herself, he caught up quickly.Full novel: After My Contract Wife Pushed Me to Her Best Friend, She Broke Down in Tears — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Heh… Lin Mo, you’re really something. We’re not even divorced yet, and you’re already so eager to hook up with someone else?”

Su Qianqian looked at him, slightly out of breath, her face cold.

“Qianqian, don’t misunderstand. We’re really just friends,” Lin Mo explained anxiously.

She sneered, her tone mocking. “Friends? If you were really just friends, would she look at you like that?”

Lin Mo felt a headache coming on. He had already explained this just now.

Why would she still not believe him?

“Qianqian, whether you believe me or not, there’s truly nothing between us.”

“We only had dinner because she took good care of me when my arm was fractured. I couldn’t refuse.”

He rubbed his forehead helplessly as he spoke.

“Really?” Su Qianqian looked at him suspiciously.

“Really.”

Seeing how serious he looked, her expression softened slightly.

“Then your injury… is it better now?”

It was as if she had only just remembered. She looked at his arm and pressed her lips together.

Lin Mo was stunned for a moment.

Was she… concerned about him?

Over the past three years, he had been injured more than once because of her.

When she was in a temper, she had smashed a vase against his head. When she was irritated, she had stabbed his leg with scissors.

Through all of it, she had never shown the slightest guilt or concern.

There had only been disdain and a sense of entitlement.

So why was she suddenly asking about his injury today?

Still, Lin Mo did not overthink it. He smiled lightly and said casually, “I’m fine. It’s already healed.”

Seeing how relaxed he looked, a trace of self-blame flickered in Su Qianqian’s eyes.

Perhaps she really had been too harsh on him.

He only liked her. What was wrong with that?

For three years, he had taken meticulous care of her.

She truly should not have vented her anger on him and hurt him like that.

“Um… Qianqian, where are we going now?” Lin Mo asked cautiously when she fell silent.

She snapped out of her thoughts and resumed her cold expression. “Let’s go home first.”

With that, she pushed her wheelchair forward.

Lin Mo hesitated for a moment, then followed behind her and pushed her toward the car.

Sitting in the wheelchair, her back to him, Su Qianqian could not help but let a faint smile curve her lips.

He really did like her too much.

As long as she beckoned, he would immediately return to her side.

It was just a pity… her heart had long been filled with Xiao Jibo. There was no space left for him.

She could not imagine how heartbroken Lin Mo would be when she married Xiao Jibo in the future.

“Miss, Mr. Lin, we’ve arrived!”

The bodyguard driver’s voice brought her back to reality.

She turned her head slightly and ordered, “Carry me upstairs.”

“Alright.”

What choice did Lin Mo have? He had taken her money.

Besides, he had carried her countless times over the past three years. One more time made no difference.

He bent down, lifted her in his arms, and carried her upstairs.

“Mr. Lin, you’re finally back!”

On the first floor, the housekeeper exclaimed when she saw him.

Lin Mo simply smiled in response and continued upstairs.

After placing Su Qianqian back into her wheelchair on the second floor, he let out a breath and said casually, “Qianqian, get some rest. I’ll be going now.”

He turned to leave.

Now that he had brought her home, there was no reason for him to stay.

But behind him, Su Qianqian suddenly spoke in a dark tone, “Are you going out to find her again?”

“I just think it’s not appropriate for me to stay here,” Lin Mo explained patiently, though he did not quite understand her mood.

She lifted her chin slightly, her voice firm. “There’s nothing inappropriate about it. You’ll stay here. Until Xiao Jibo comes back, you’re not going anywhere.”

Without waiting for him to refuse, she turned her wheelchair toward the bedroom.

Lin Mo gave a bitter smile and shook his head helplessly.

There was no way around it. He had taken her money.

Before the contract expired, he still had to listen to her.

Otherwise, he would be breaching the agreement and would have to pay the price.

Early the next morning, after opening her eyes, Su Qianqian called out naturally, “Lin Mo, pour me a glass of water…”

“Lin Mo?”

When no one responded, she frowned and called again.

Still no answer.

A flicker of panic crossed her eyes.

Just as she was about to call him, the bedroom door opened.

Aunt Wang peeked in cautiously, likely having heard something and come upstairs to check.

“Miss, what’s wrong?”

“Aunt Wang, where’s Lin Mo?” Su Qianqian asked with a frown.

“Mr. Lin went out early this morning. You didn’t know?” Aunt Wang replied in surprise.

Su Qianqian’s face grew cold again.

Her first thought was that Lin Mo had gone to see that woman.

“Miss, shall I call Mr. Lin?” Aunt Wang asked carefully.

“I…”

“Aunt Wang, I’m back.”

Before Su Qianqian could finish speaking, Lin Mo’s voice came from downstairs.

Her brows relaxed slightly.

Aunt Wang tactfully went downstairs to greet him.

Soon, Lin Mo entered the bedroom, holding a document envelope in his hand.

“Qianqian, what’s wrong?” he asked cautiously, seeing her unpleasant expression.

It seemed Aunt Wang had told him about what had just happened.

But instead of answering, Su Qianqian stared at him and demanded, “Where did you go?”

“I went out to take care of something.”

As he spoke, he waved the document envelope slightly.

“What’s that?” she asked, puzzled.

Lin Mo smiled faintly. “It’s the divorce agreement. The property has already been divided. Take a look and see if there’s anything you want to change.”

He placed the agreement beside her bed and continued, “I came here with nothing, and I’ll leave with nothing. I’ll walk away without taking any property. If you think it’s fine, we can sign it now.”

“Lin Mo, are you that eager to divorce me so you can run to your little lover?”

She sneered, her tone mocking.

She did not even glance at the agreement.

Lin Mo paused, then said helplessly, “Qianqian, wasn’t this what we agreed on? When Xiao Jibo returns, we divorce.”

“There are still two days left, but I think we should do it in advance. Once he’s back, you can register your marriage as soon as possible.”

He truly did not understand.

She had been the one who insisted on divorce before. Why was she acting like this now?

His words stunned her slightly.

Yes. Hadn’t she been the one who proposed divorce? The agreement had been written clearly from the beginning.

Then why had she just said those things to him?

Could it be… that she had fallen for Lin Mo?

No. Impossible. The only person she had ever loved was Xiao Jibo.

She forcibly suppressed the strange thought and resumed her cold expression.

“Fine. We can sign the divorce agreement early. But you must keep your promise and stay here with me until Xiao Jibo returns.”

“As for the divorce certificate… it can wait until he comes back.”

“Alright.”

Lin Mo nodded immediately.

Still, something felt strange, as if he were the one forcing her to sign.

Soon, she signed her name on the agreement.

But the moment she finished signing, an inexplicable emptiness settled in her chest.

It felt as if something very important had drifted a little farther away.

“Your turn…”

She handed the agreement to Lin Mo, a trace of complicated emotion in her eyes.

She wanted to see how he would react on the day of their divorce.

But she was destined to be disappointed.

Lin Mo signed his name beside hers without hesitation.

There was no pain or sadness in his eyes.

On the contrary… there seemed to be a hint of relief.

“So he really wants to divorce me that badly?”

Watching him carefully put away the agreement, Su Qianqian thought to herself.
