After putting away the divorce agreement, Lin Mo looked at Su Qianqian as he always did and asked, “I’ll go make breakfast. What would you like to eat this morning?”

Unlike before, there was a hint of genuine joy between his brows today.

It was clear that he was truly happy.Full novel: After My Contract Wife Pushed Me to Her Best Friend, She Broke Down in Tears — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Su Qianqian paused slightly, then turned over and said flatly, “Anything…”

For some reason, seeing how happy he looked about divorcing her made her chest feel even more suffocated. She even lost her appetite.

Lin Mo hesitated for a moment, then quietly walked out of the bedroom.

It was obvious that she was angry.

If this had been in the past, he would have stepped forward with concern and asked what was wrong.

He might even have prepared the meal and brought it into the bedroom to feed her himself.

But now that they were about to divorce, there was no need for him to do that anymore.

With a soft thud, the bedroom door closed.

After sensing that Lin Mo had left, Su Qianqian turned over again, her expression cold.

She had also noticed that Lin Mo had changed.

But she had no reason to blame him.

The contract from years ago had been written clearly.

Lin Mo was only responsible for taking care of her daily life. It never stated that he had to cook for her or soothe her emotions.

For three years, he had continuously made all kinds of delicious meals for her.

He had also endured her temper and comforted her moods countless times. That alone had already been more than enough.

Now that they were about to divorce, she truly had no right to demand anything from him anymore.

Even so, an inexplicable irritation still lingered in her heart.

“Rain falls all night, my love overflows like the rain…”

Just as Su Qianqian was lost in thought, Xiao Jibo suddenly called.

Her icy expression instantly softened into tenderness.

“What’s wrong, Jibo?” she asked gently after answering the phone.

His deep, magnetic voice came from the other end. “Qianqian, I’m coming back to the country the day after tomorrow. Will you come pick me up?”

She paused for a moment, then smiled. “Alright…”

Even if he had not asked, she would have gone to pick him up.

But hearing him say it still felt somewhat strange.

He clearly knew she had difficulty walking, yet he still asked her to go.

If it had been Lin Mo…

Unconsciously, she thought of him again.

Over the past three years, Lin Mo had flown overseas more than once, just to search for treatments for her leg injury.

After a while, even Su Qianqian had felt embarrassed. After all, that was not part of his responsibility.

Once, when Lin Mo was about to board his return flight again, she had offered to pick him up.

But he had politely refused, saying she needed to rest and should not move around casually. The source of this chapter is g.com.

In the end, he had returned alone, carrying his luggage and taking a taxi home.

“Hello? Qianqian, are you listening?”

Xiao Jibo’s puzzled voice brought her back.

“Yes, I’m here…”

“Qianqian, I’ve already thought it through. When I return, we’ll hold a grand wedding. Let your father invite all the prominent figures. Just imagine the scene…”

“And I’ll go to your company to assist you. I learned a lot abroad. As long as we work together as husband and wife, we can definitely expand the Su family business.”

“I…”

Just as Xiao Jibo continued talking endlessly, an untimely voice suddenly interrupted.

Lin Mo stood outside the bedroom, wearing an apron, speaking cautiously. “Um, Qianqian, breakfast is ready. You…”

He stopped midway, as if suddenly realizing something, and hurriedly closed the door and left.

It was as though he was afraid of disturbing her and Xiao Jibo.

Seeing this, a faint smile curved at Su Qianqian’s lips.

Although Lin Mo had moved gently, in her eyes it looked as if he had fled in embarrassment.

“As expected, he’s jealous of Xiao Jibo. Otherwise, why would his attitude toward me change so quickly?” she thought.

For some reason, seeing Lin Mo jealous made her feel even happier.

The anger on her face disappeared, replaced by a trace of smugness.

“Qianqian, is that Lin Mo still there?”

Xiao Jibo’s voice suddenly turned low and serious on the phone, clearly having heard Lin Mo.

She paused, then smiled. “Yes. We’ve already started the divorce process.”

“Qianqian, you should divorce him as soon as possible. I don’t want to see him.”

His tone carried an unmistakable command.

“Jibo, you know someone with my status can’t just divorce casually. It’s complicated. Can you not be so impatient?”

“We’ve waited all these years. Can’t we wait a few more days?”

She frowned, displeased.

She did not like being ordered around.

“I’m sorry, Qianqian. I was too anxious. But… just thinking about him being by your side every day makes my chest feel tight.”

“I hate myself for not staying by your side back then.”

“Otherwise, I would have been the one taking care of you these past three years.”

Sensing her displeasure, Xiao Jibo softened his tone and sounded aggrieved.

Her heart immediately softened. “Jibo, that’s not what I meant. Don’t worry. I’ll divorce him as soon as possible.”

After receiving her reassurance, Xiao Jibo’s mood improved.

They chatted briefly before hanging up.

“Lin Mo!”

After comforting Xiao Jibo, Su Qianqian rubbed her temples and called out.

“What is it?” Lin Mo quickly appeared at the door, looking at her in confusion.

“Carry me out to eat.”

After washing up, Su Qianqian sat at the dining table, about to eat, when a sudden voice interrupted.

“Wow… it smells so good!”

Looking up, they saw a mature, elegant woman standing there, sniffing the aroma in the room.

She wore a fitted tank top and a tight skirt that accentuated her curves.

Her figure was clearly the result of long-term fitness training.

Lin Mo knew her as well. She was Xia Shiya, the daughter of the Xia family and Su Qianqian’s close friend.

He was grateful to her.

Over the years, she had helped him more than once.

“Well, well, Qianqian, having breakfast?” Xia Shiya teased with a smile.

When she reached Lin Mo, she patted his shoulder playfully. “Hey, Mr. Silent, didn’t see me?”

“I did, Sister Shiya. Want to sit and eat with us?” Lin Mo smiled lightly. He was already used to her teasing.

Since he did not talk much, Xia Shiya had given him that nickname. It suited him quite well.

“Then I’ll join you. I haven’t eaten your cooking in ages. I’ve been craving it.”

Without hesitation, she sat down beside him, leaving him slightly embarrassed.

“You sure talk a lot,” Su Qianqian said, rolling her eyes lightly before lowering her head to eat.

“Mmm, so good. Wow, Lin Mo, is this a new dish you learned? It’s amazing. No, no, serve me another bowl of rice.”

Soon, Xia Shiya’s lively chatter filled the dining table.

Even with food in her mouth, she did not forget to praise him.

Over the years, Lin Mo might not have made progress elsewhere, but to take better care of Su Qianqian, he had learned to cook exceptionally well.

Not only Xia Shiya, but even someone as picky as Su Qianqian had been won over by his culinary skills.

“Wow, I’m so full. Not bad. Your cooking has improved again. I’ll give you a thumbs-up.”

After eating heartily, Xia Shiya rubbed her stomach and praised him again.

Lin Mo merely smiled without replying and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

Seeing this, Xia Shiya pouted slightly, then pushed Su Qianqian back into the bedroom to whisper privately.

“Shiya, what have you been busy with lately? I haven’t seen you around,” Su Qianqian asked with a soft smile as Xia Shiya lay on her bed.

“Don’t even mention it. My dad insisted I go on a blind date, saying the guy studied abroad. But when I saw him, he was a complete bookworm. I got so angry I scolded him.”

“So I’ve been hiding from my dad these past few days.”

She sighed dramatically, then complained again. “If I could find a man like Lin Mo, I wouldn’t have to go on blind dates.”

Su Qianqian shook her head with a helpless smile.

“Oh, right. Qianqian, what’s going on between you and Lin Mo? I heard Xiao Jibo is coming back soon. What are you planning to do?” Xia Shiya suddenly sat up, looking at her curiously.

“I… already signed the divorce agreement with him. Once Xiao Jibo returns, we’ll go register the marriage…”

Su Qianqian pressed her lips together, her expression slightly confused.

Xia Shiya immediately stood up, her voice rising in disbelief. “What? Qianqian, are you crazy? You’re divorcing Lin Mo for that scumbag? What were you thinking?”
