“Five minutes already. Do we really not need to wake those two up?” Cheng Zhi asked while chewing on a steamed bun.

Beside her, Xiao Feiran was sitting on the floor rubbing medicated oil onto herself. She winced in pain and sucked in a breath.

“Hiss… just tap their knees. They’ll wake up instantly.”Full novel: After Rebirth: Dorm 806 Survived the Apocalypse by Stockpiling Supplies — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Ah! That actually sounded like a good idea.

Just as Cheng Zhi stepped forward, the two people who had still been frozen in place moments ago suddenly started moving again.

Looking at the fully renovated five bedroom, two living room, four bathroom layout, along with the small garden outside…

The girls of Dorm 806 felt as if they were dreaming.

They had originally thought the space could only expand horizontally. Who would have thought it could also expand vertically? It had directly undergone a magnificent transformation from a six person dorm room into a huge luxury apartment.

Huang Yiyi was still dazed. She walked from the dining room through the living room and onto the balcony. Only after seeing the little vegetable sprouts on the ground did things finally start to feel real.

Chen Siyu was exhausted and still confused. She touched the cool floor tiles and laughed twice.

“So many books in exchange for a giant apartment. Worth it.”

With a steamed bun hanging from her mouth, Cheng Zhi walked over and pulled the collapsed Chen Siyu up from the floor, then started massaging her shoulders and arms.

As soon as her sore body was pressed, Chen Siyu’s whole face twisted in pain.

“Hiss, ow, ow, ow! Stop pressing! Stop pressing! I’ll just rely on sleep to heal naturally.”

Swallowing the last bite of her bun, Cheng Zhi pointed toward the package boxes stacked against the wall, looking extremely excited.

“There wasn’t that much stuff in the cafeteria and supermarket. The three of us finished packing everything pretty early. We passed by the package station on the way back, so we went inside and cleaned that place out too. This afternoon everyone gets to open mystery boxes together!”

Looking at the twenty or thirty boxes, Chen Siyu was extremely puzzled.

“Did someone loot the package station before us? Or have college students become so broke recently? A package station that big only had this many?”

Xiao Feiran, who was organizing the freezer in the kitchen across from them, replied:

“That’s definitely impossible. The two rooms inside were stacked full all the way to the ceiling. These were just the ones that couldn’t fit in there anymore.”

The five of them were all completely exhausted. They casually stuffed a few bites into their mouths, then hurried to shower and climb into bed.

They slept with their heads covered until a little after two in the afternoon, only waking up because of loud pounding on the door.

Cheng Zhi was the first to jolt awake. Grabbing her electric baton, she walked to the door and looked through the peephole. Seeing that it was Liu Min, a classmate from next door with short hair, she finally lowered her weapon.

After opening the door, Liu Min immediately asked:

“Cheng Zhi, does your dorm still have any of that wide transparent tape? The glass door in our dorm got smashed last night. There’s a hole in it now, and wind and rain are pouring into the room.”

Cheng Zhi did not say much. She brought over the little tape she had left. There was barely any remaining anyway, so using it all up was fine.

Hearing the noise, everyone gradually woke up.

The first thing they did was rush into the space to water and fertilize the fields.

Now that there was more land, Zheng Wan and Cheng Zhi discussed what to plant in the newly added area. In the end, they decided on crops like potatoes and sweet potatoes.

In the apocalypse, filling their stomachs came first. Nutrition balance could be worried about later.

“Holy crap! Guys, the hens laid eggs! Two of them!”

Xiao Feiran, who had been cleaning the chicken coop, discovered two eggs and nearly lost her mind with excitement.

Hearing the news, Cheng Zhi and Zheng Wan hurried over and examined the eggs from every angle.

Holding the eggs in her palms like treasures, Zheng Wan said:

“Then we’ll have chicks really soon!”

Cheng Zhi shook her head and carefully put the eggs back into the nest.

“Not necessarily. They need to be fertilized for chicks to hatch. Otherwise they’re just ordinary eggs.”

Hearing that, Zheng Wan looked disappointed.

Halfway through cleaning the chicken coop, Xiao Feiran suddenly ran off and started digging through a pile of supplies. Then her eyes lit up and she raised something high.

“Look! The incubator that came bundled with the chickens back then. We can just try incubating them and find out.”

“Can’t the hens just hatch them themselves? Using a machine wastes electricity.”

Zheng Wan looked confused.

Xiao Feiran had already plugged it in within seconds and smiled.

“When hens incubate eggs, they barely leave them at all. What if these aren’t fertilized? If she keeps sitting there incubating them without eating or drinking, what if she gets sick and dies? We only have two hens.”

Zheng Wan suddenly understood.

Master Xiao really had thought things through.

After planting the vegetables and cleaning both the chicken coop and rabbit pen, the five of them brought out the packages and sat in the living room opening mystery boxes.

Tissues, rye bread, foundation makeup, potato chips…

For four of them, the unboxing process went smoothly. Everything they opened turned out to be ordinary things college students would use.

Chen Siyu, however, was much more impressive.

Not only had she opened three empty boxes in a row, when she opened the fourth one, she completely froze.

Half the box contained child ending protection gear, and the other half contained whips, handcuffs, and all sorts of accessories.

Everything one could possibly need was there.

“Do college students play this wildly now?” Xiao Feiran picked up a string of condoms and examined them carefully.

“Whoa! Glow in the dark edition. This dude’s got some very unusual tastes!”

“Oh my god, can these really lock people up?”

Cheng Zhi played around with a pair of handcuffs.

Huang Yiyi and Zheng Wan were laughing so hard they nearly collapsed.

“He actually bought it under his real name too! That’s way too honest! Hahahahahaha!”

Chen Siyu’s heart went cold.

Using a marker, she wrote four giant words across the box:

Violently Explicit Boy

Then she left the living room.

She no longer wanted to open packages. Who knew what other surprises would come out? She might as well go cook.

She set water to boil for noodles, sliced some shredded wood ear mushrooms and vegetables, fried five eggs, then broke up some dried bean curd sticks.

Finally, she threw everything in together, and a bowl of snail rice noodles was complete.

The five of them took one bite of the noodles, and all the exhaustion from the day disappeared.

Cheng Zhi took a sip of soup and looked close to tears.

“First floor cafeteria snail noodles, the love of my life!”

Xiao Feiran soaked a fried egg in the soup for a moment, fished it out, and bit into it. Broth burst into her mouth.

“This egg is so good!”

Chen Siyu proudly slurped her noodles.

“I watched so many tutorials. I didn’t waste a single egg and perfectly recreated it!”

Across from her, Huang Yiyi raised a thumbs up.

“Even though your package opening experience was a disaster, your snail noodles are a huge success. They’re really delicious!”

The moment packages were mentioned, Chen Siyu’s face darkened with black lines.

She immediately remembered that box filled with all those explicit items.

After swallowing a mouthful of noodles, Zheng Wan patted Chen Siyu comfortingly.

“I checked earlier. The reason those three boxes were empty was because they were filled with books, so the space absorbed them as soon as they were thrown in. As for that other box… well, we’re college students now. Having a few hidden dragons and crouching phoenixes around is perfectly normal.”

Like a kitten being stroked the right way, Chen Siyu obediently nodded.

Right. It definitely had to be everyone else’s problem.

How could her luck possibly be that bad?

Impossible. Absolutely impossible.

The other four exchanged glances and desperately fought to suppress the smiles trying to creep onto their faces.

After all, Chen Siyu’s terrible luck with her hands had already been proven through countless experiments.

Ever since freshman year, every time there was some lecture involving a random draw, not to say ten out of ten, but at least eight out of ten times Chen Siyu would get picked.

For three straight years, she had bought sports lottery tickets every month and had never won once.

She had bought mystery boxes for five years. As long as it was the one character she wanted, even buying twenty boxes would never get her the pull.

Other people used one umbrella for three years.

She had gone through six in three years.

As long as she used an umbrella for more than a week, it would somehow meet an early demise in bizarre ways beyond ordinary human imagination.

Chen Siyu absolutely refused to accept reality.

As for lectures, listening to more of them could count as cultivating her temperament.

Lottery tickets and mystery boxes were about the joy of buying them, so of course she would keep buying them.

As for umbrellas, with so many roommates around, she could always borrow someone else’s.

She firmly believed that as long as her mindset did not collapse, there would always be more solutions than problems.

In short, she simply refused to admit that her luck was terrible.
