The next day, Su Nuonuo arrived early—not because she was diligent, but because she came to ask the class monitor for Lu Zhiye’s phone number.

In her previous life, up until her death, she had never had any way to contact Lu Zhiye. In this life, no matter what, she had to get it.

She knew Lu Zhiye’s personality all too well—cold, tough, and distant. If she asked him directly, she would only be ruthlessly rejected. After thinking it over, the only option was to ask Chen Che, who managed the class contact list.Full novel: After Rebirth, I Clung to the School Bully for Kisses and Hugs — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

At that moment, Su Xiaoyu had turned around and was chatting with Chen Che. After putting down her bag, Su Nuonuo also turned around.

Chen Che looked at her and gave a polite smile.

He and Su Xiaoyu were the class monitor and vice class monitor. They had gotten together since the second year of high school, though in class it was an open secret.

Since both of them were core class officers—reliable and well-behaved—no one reported them to the teachers.

In her previous life, Su Nuonuo had felt nothing about their early relationship. In this life, however, she envied them deeply—the kind of love that went from school uniforms to wedding dresses.

She poked Su Xiaoyu’s arm, then looked at Chen Che, speaking in a soft yet urgent voice, “Sister Xiaoyu, Class Monitor Chen Che, I want Lu Zhiye’s phone number~”

Su Xiaoyu raised an eyebrow and poked her cheek, smiling. “What do you want his number for?”

Su Nuonuo’s eyes curved into crescents as she replied brightly, “I already said I’m going to chase him. How can I do that without his number? I can’t even talk to him privately.”

Su Xiaoyu glanced at Lu Zhiye’s empty seat, looking troubled. “Nuonuo, are you serious? His temper isn’t something you can mess with.”

Su Nuonuo nodded firmly.

Chen Che coughed lightly, hesitating as he waved his hand. “Nuonuo, that’s not okay. Phone numbers are personal privacy. I’m only keeping the contact list for the teacher—I can’t just give it out.”

Su Nuonuo grew anxious. She leaned over his desk, clutching the edge with both hands. “Brother-in-law~ just give it to me secretly. I promise I won’t spread it, I’ll just keep it for myself. Please~”

Her “brother-in-law” made Chen Che’s ears turn red. He laughed helplessly and waved his hand. “Calling me that won’t help. Privacy rules still apply.”

Unwilling to give up, Su Nuonuo scrunched her face into a soft little pout, preparing to grab his arm—when her peripheral vision suddenly caught sight of a tall, cold figure at the back door.

Lu Zhiye had just stepped into the classroom. His figure was straight and imposing, his uniform collar neat, his entire presence wrapped in an untouchable chill.

Normally, he never came this early. The previous night, he had barely slept, his mind filled with Su Nuonuo’s words: “I’ll chase him too” and “See you tomorrow.” For some reason, he had come early.

But he hadn’t expected to walk into this scene…

The girl was leaning over Chen Che’s desk, tilting her head up as she called him “brother-in-law” in a soft voice, her eyes curved with pleading, gentle and clingy—completely different from her usual timid self.

His dark eyes sank instantly. His steps paused for half a second. His pale face showed no expression, but a trace of shadow flickered deep within his gaze.

Su Nuonuo’s heart suddenly tightened, like a firecracker being lit. Her cheeks flushed red instantly, and she forgot all about asking for the number.

She quickly turned around, pulled out the warm milk she had prepared in advance, and rushed straight toward Lu Zhiye.

Lu Zhiye had just reached his desk when his wrist was gently grabbed by a soft little hand.

Su Nuonuo held up a box of milk to him, her voice soft yet stubborn. “Lu Zhiye, good morning. Your milk~”

A sticky note was neatly attached to the carton, the handwriting soft and cute—just like her.

Lu Zhiye lowered his gaze, his dark eyes sweeping over the milk. His brows furrowed slightly as he rejected it cleanly, “Don’t want it. Take it away.”

His cool voice carried no warmth.

Su Nuonuo’s hand trembled slightly, but she didn’t pull back. Instead, she pushed it closer, her fingertips lightly brushing his sleeve as her soft voice clung to him. “No, it’s still warm. It’ll be good for your stomach~ You definitely didn’t eat breakfast, right?”

In her previous life, she had heard Grandpa Lu say that Lu Zhiye had developed stomach problems early on. Even though Grandpa Lu sold breakfast, Lu Zhiye rarely ate it.

She looked up at him, her eyes slightly red at the corners but without any fear, her bright gaze fixed on him like a clingy little kitten.

Lu Zhiye’s brows tightened further. He tried to brush her hand away, but the moment his strength loosened, she seized the chance and grabbed his wrist firmly.

“It’s okay if you don’t want the milk,” she said, suddenly changing the topic, a hint of mischief flashing in her eyes. “Then can you give me your phone number? I have something really important to tell you~”

Lu Zhiye’s gaze darkened. He looked down at the small hand hanging onto his wrist—soft, warm—and strangely, it didn’t annoy him. Still, he replied coldly, “No need. Not giving it.”

“How is there no need?”

Su Nuonuo tiptoed closer, her nose almost touching his arm.

Her voice was sweet, with a hint of playful persistence.

“It’s normal for classmates to exchange numbers. What if I need your help someday? What if you forget something and I can notify you?”

She coaxed him softly, her small hand still gripping his wrist, even giving it a gentle shake.

Like a pampering little dumpling, she pleaded, “Lu Zhiye~ just give it to me~ I promise I won’t bother you randomly. I’ll just keep it, okay? Please?”

The surrounding students who had been secretly watching were stunned. How could she dare cling to the school bully and act spoiled like this? Wasn’t she afraid of getting beaten?

Many of them had already crossed their arms, waiting to see her return to her seat in tears.

Lu Zhiye’s brow twitched slightly from her shaking. His cold face remained expressionless,

yet he didn’t forcefully shake her off again. He let out a low scoff, his tone still cold but slightly relenting, “Let go. You’re annoying.”

Su Nuonuo’s eyes instantly lit up like stars. She immediately let go, raised her phone toward him, the screen already open to a new contact page. Smiling brightly, she said, “I let go! Tell me your number, I’ll write it down right away~”

Lu Zhiye glanced at her eager expression. After two seconds of silence, his thin lips parted, and he slowly recited a string of numbers, his deep voice carrying a trace of helpless indulgence he couldn’t quite hide.

Su Nuonuo quickly typed them in, her fingers trembling with excitement. After finishing, she looked up brightly to confirm, “Check if it’s right?”

Lu Zhiye didn’t respond. He simply glanced at her phone screen, catching sight of the name neatly written in the contact field: “Lu Zhiye.” His brow lifted almost imperceptibly.

He casually pushed the milk on his desk aside and said coldly, “Take the milk away. You’ve got the number—don’t come bother me again.”

“I won’t, I won’t!”

Su Nuonuo happily saved the contact, then shoved the milk firmly to the corner of his desk, smiling sweetly. “I’ll leave the milk here~ Drink it whenever you want. I’m going now!”

The moment she turned around, the hand clutching her phone was practically trembling with joy, her steps light as if she were walking on clouds.

She dashed back to Su Xiaoyu and Chen Che, holding her phone right up in front of them.

Lowering her voice but unable to hide her excitement, she said, “Look! I got it! Lu Zhiye’s phone number! I really got it!”

The contact name on the screen stood out clearly. Su Xiaoyu laughed and pinched her cheek. “Not bad, Nuonuo. Even the school bully gave in to you—impressive!”

Chen Che also smiled. “Only you could wear him down like that. Anyone else would’ve been frozen out long ago.”

Su Nuonuo held her phone, her fingers repeatedly tracing that string of numbers. Her eyes shimmered with tiny sparks of light, her heart sweet as if filled with honey.

The number she could never obtain in her previous life was finally in her hands in this life.

Her lips curved high, her cheeks puffed slightly as she secretly glanced toward Lu Zhiye, her eyes crescent-shaped with unconcealable joy.

Lu Zhiye had just sat down and opened his book when the phone in his pocket vibrated softly. He lowered his gaze to the screen. It was a friend request on WeChat, with the remark written in soft, rounded characters: “Su Nuonuo.”

His fingers unconsciously rubbed the edge of the page. The sharp line of his jaw softened slightly, and even the coldness in his eyes faded a little.

His thumb hovered above the screen for two seconds. He neither accepted nor rejected it.

Instead, for the first time ever, he put the box of milk into his desk drawer.
