Shu Juan held a cup of hot water in her hands, her fingers tracing the rim as she said, “The neighbors just found out today that we were blessed with a second child after all this time, and tomorrow you want me to get an abortion. Can you still hold your head up in this neighborhood?”

Zhou Hui shot back with an equally sharp tongue: “If people outside knew you got pregnant from messing around, who would be the one losing face then?”

Shu Juan looked at Zhou Hui and her son and said, “How did I get pregnant from messing around? This child is Gu Hong’s.”Full novel: After Rebirth, I Killed the Scumbag’s Entire Family — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Gu Hong pressed his lips tightly together, veins bulging on his forehead. “How can you say something like that? I haven’t touched you in months!”

Shu Juan said, “The one and only time was that night of your company’s cocktail party.”

Gu Hong cursed, “You bitch, aren’t you still claiming it’s not some other man’s bastard?”

Shu Juan opened her phone and sent a video to Gu Hong’s phone, and also to Zhou Hui’s and Gu Jianguo’s phones.

Gu Hong watched the video, his expression turning somewhat ferocious.

Shu Juan said casually, “I went to the hotel and pulled the surveillance footage from the night of the party. You’ve all seen it—it was Gu Hong who helped me to the room together. Who is this ‘other man’ you’re talking about? Isn’t it just Gu Hong? Whose child could this be if not his?”

She looked at Gu Hong, incredulous. “I never thought you’d be so heartless that you’d refuse to acknowledge your own child!”

Gu Hong flew into a rage. “Bitch, shut your mouth!”

Gu Jianguo, who had been silent all along, suddenly barked, “Enough! Any louder and the whole building will hear!”

Gu Hong said, “I’m taking you to get rid of it tomorrow!”

Shu Juan said, “Then I’ll have no choice but to call the police and seek help from the Women’s Federation. I’m having this child.”

If he could do this to her, couldn’t she do the same to him?

Not only would she have the child, she would have it in this house, while still married to Gu Hong, making him taste the fruit of his own planting.

He kept a mistress outside and raised another man’s son in his own home—this was exactly the outcome he deserved!

None of the Gu family had expected that Shu Juan would be like a rabid dog, biting anyone in sight. She was pregnant with a bastard child, yet instead of feeling ashamed, she turned the tables and pinned the child on Gu Hong!

Anyone with a shred of self-respect or dignity wouldn’t do something like this!

But she had struck first, making everyone believe the child was Gu Hong’s, and now she’d quietly gotten her hands on that video—he couldn’t talk his way out of this even with a mouth full of teeth!

This bitch really knew how to turn the whole household upside down!

But later, after Zhou Hui and Gu Hong put their heads together, Gu Hong actually changed his mind.

His face couldn’t help but show his utter disgust for Shu Juan as he said, “You can have the child, and you can keep living here, but you’ll have to cover the household expenses every month—twenty thousand a month.”

Zhou Hui immediately chimed in, “That’s right! Twenty thousand, not a cent less!”

Shu Juan looked at the mother and son and said, “So you’re planning to treat me like an ATM?”

Gu Hong said with righteous indignation, “Doesn’t this big family need expenses? Since you refuse to divorce, then you have to bear the responsibility! Qianqian’s schooling, your parents’ living expenses, and now an extra bastard—asking for twenty thousand is already too little!”

Shu Juan looked at Gu Qianqian in the living room. He was now both wary of her and afraid of her. He was, after all, the child she had carried for ten months, and her heart suddenly softened. She said, “Ten thousand a month. If we can’t reach an agreement, I’ll still live in this house just the same.”

Before she settled things with this family, there was no way she was moving out. Once she left this place, she would have nothing.

She’d just consider it money spent to hire a nanny to take care of her through her pregnancy.

And the Gu family couldn’t kick her out either. She had the video in hand, and now she was pregnant. If things really blew up, it wouldn’t do Gu Hong any good.

So Zhou Hui and Gu Hong decided they might as well wait until she gave birth, then do a paternity test. Once the test proved the child wasn’t Gu Hong’s, they could slap the blame right back on Shu Juan’s head.

She had committed adultery first—then Gu Hong would have legitimate grounds for divorce.

Gu Hong was resentful. Only ten thousand a month? Was that supposed to be charity for a beggar?

But in the end, Zhou Hui agreed to it. Ten thousand was ten thousand—better than nothing.
