18 – Chapter 18
No one believed Shen Yan was telling the truth.
Except for Bo Jinye.
“Shen Yan, you’re an elite educated in modern medicine. Do you think anyone would believe such words?” Ning Yun’ai questioned with some anger.
Shen Yan only looked at Bo Jinye, “I can guarantee my method is correct, and I have no reason to deceive you all.”
“It just depends on whether you believe me, sir.”
Bo Xiyuan shook his head repeatedly, “President Bo, this won’t do. It’s too absurd.”
“That’s right, Fourth Brother, you can’t listen to this person’s nonsense.” You Xin worriedly advised.
Bo Jinye rose from the sickbed, meeting Shen Yan’s gaze, “Alright…”
“Tell me, what should I do.”
Shen Yan curled his lips, “Take this young lady home, take good care of her, and kneel by her bedside for six hours every day.”
“While kneeling, you can chant Buddhist scriptures, reflect on yourself, or confess your wrongdoings to this young lady.”
“Every three days, offer half a bowl of your blood. Can you do that?”
Ning Yun’ai found it increasingly ridiculous, “Shen Yan, you!”
“Alright.” Bo Jinye interrupted Ning Yun’ai, “Take Sheng Sheng home.”
“President Bo, you can’t…” Bo Xiyuan disapproved no matter what.
Bo Jinye glanced at him, and Bo Xiyuan abruptly fell silent.
The man’s expression at this moment was so obsessive and mad that he could do anything.
If Shen Yan said destroying the world and killing everyone would wake An Sheng up.
Bo Jinye would do it without hesitation.
He could mercilessly strike down his long-time subordinates and friends, slaughter unrelated people without emotion.
As long as it could save An Sheng.
The only person he couldn’t betray was An Sheng.
Shen Yan took one last look at the sleeping An Sheng before turning to leave.
Feeling quite pleased…
His master’s annual coma was a regular occurrence.
Seven or eight years ago, he had met An Sheng after seeing someone ask on a forum about annual comas.
When his master was neglected in the old mansion for four years, no one even noticed when she fell into her coma.
Since the old mansion had the master’s own people, it was convenient to care for her.
He just couldn’t stand Bo Jinye and had to vent his master’s grievances.
The master usually remained unconscious for half a month to a month, with no health issues upon waking.
Over the years, he and An Sheng had researched this countless times but never identified the cause.
Shen Yan stopped Ning Yun’ai because if even An Sheng herself couldn’t figure it out.
Then truly no one in the world knew the reason.
At Brocade Garden, Bo Jinye gently carried An Sheng to bed, softly kissing her, “Prepare the things.”
Bo Xiyuan understood Bo Jinye’s determined nature – once the president accepted that doctor’s words, nothing could stop him.
Sighing softly, Bo Xiyuan went out to buy Buddhist scriptures.
You Xin lingered by the door, silently watching Bo Jinye.
What a calamity, what a calamity! Fourth Brother has gone mad, Fourth Sister-in-law is unconscious.
The household now depended on him!
Bo Jinye cut his wrist to draw blood, watching the crimson flow, his mind drifting for a moment.
In their previous life, when Sheng Sheng saved him, did she endure this same process?
An Ruyue and Pei Hanqing weren’t just drawing blood – they nearly drained Sheng Sheng dry!
As he thought about it, Bo Jinye actually felt a trace of sweetness in his heart.
Now he was the one saving Sheng Sheng, wasn’t he? He was returning all his blood to her.
You Xin watched with trepidation.
It’s over. Fourth Brother has gone mad, truly mad.”How painful it must be to slit one’s wrist, yet Fourth Brother is smiling, and his smile is so strange.”
Bo Jinye wanted to fill a whole bowl, but Bo Xiyuan stopped him. “President Bo, if you draw too much, it might not work.”
Even Bo Xiyuan found his own words ridiculous.
But Bo Jinye believed him. After hastily treating his wrist, he went to kneel by An Sheng’s bedside.
“Fourth Brother, your hand is still bleeding,” You Xin couldn’t help but advise.
“Please bandage it, Fourth Brother.”
Bo Xiyuan took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “President Bo, all your blood must be for Little Madam. Don’t waste it.”
Bo Jinye chased them out, closed the door, knelt by the bed, held An Sheng’s hand against his forehead, and softly called, “Sheng Sheng, Sheng Sheng…”
When Shi Yan heard about it, he rushed back. “How is President Bo?”
“Kneeling in the room,” Bo Xiyuan rubbed his temples. “Don’t bother trying to persuade him. It’s useless.”
Shi Yan worried inwardly, “If he really pushes himself like this, how long can President Bo last?”
“Fourth Brother will definitely hold on until Fourth Sister-in-law wakes up. If she doesn’t wake up… then he won’t either,” You Xin mumbled dejectedly with his head lowered.
All three of them were deeply anxious.
The man quickly grew gaunt, his eyes cold and hard, yet when he looked at An Sheng, they melted into tender affection and pleading hope.
Ning Yun’ai visited several times. “Don’t wear yourself to death.”
Bo Jinye held An Sheng, his expression tinged with hidden madness and peculiar sweetness. “I won’t. I won’t die before Sheng Sheng wakes up.”
“I want Sheng Sheng to watch me die, or… we go together.”
Ning Yun’ai shook his head, signaling Bo Xiyuan and Shi Yan to restrain Bo Jinye. He had brought a sedative.
Bo Jinye sensed it, tightened his embrace around An Sheng, and revealed a cold, vicious smile. “If you dare interrupt me,”
“I’ll kill you all along with me.”
Ning Yun’ai was nearly furious. “Bo Jinye, have you gone mad?!”
Seeing the situation escalating, You Xin quickly pulled Ning Yun’ai outside. “Stop shouting. If persuasion worked, we would have succeeded long ago.”
Ning Yun’ai didn’t want to vent his anger on You Xin, so he pinched his ear gently. “Hmm…”
“Keep a close watch on him. Let me know immediately if anything happens.”
More than twenty days had passed, and An Sheng showed no signs of improvement.
The atmosphere in Brocade Garden grew unbearably heavy.
Bo Jinye’s face was as pale and ghastly as a terminally ill patient’s as he dripped blood from his heart into a bowl.
“Sheng Sheng, once I drain all my blood, you’ll come back to me, right?”
The man chuckled lowly, trembling as he leaned in to kiss An Sheng.
The face An Sheng once loved was now terrifyingly emaciated and withered.
Like petals on the verge of drying up and crumbling, ready to vanish with a single gust of wind.
Bo Jinye lay beside An Sheng, holding her hand and speaking softly. “Sheng Sheng, I’m so tired. Shall I sleep with you?”
“Sheng Sheng, I’m sorry. I love you. Will you forgive me?”
His voice gradually faded as he tilted his head and rested against An Sheng’s neck.
“Sheng Sheng…”
The person in his arms stirred slightly. Bo Jinye froze, then suddenly sat up, only to collapse back dizzily.
Right onto An Sheng’s chest.
The newly awakened An Sheng groaned at the impact and complained with a hint of amusement, “A Ye, that hurts.”
But her expression changed sharply when her eyes fell on the man. “A Ye, what’s wrong with you?!”
Bo Jinye clung to her tightly, his throat choked, his body trembling. After struggling for a long time, he finally let out a sob.
“Wah… Sheng Sheng, wah…”An Sheng held him gently, patting his back. “There, there, who bullied you? Don’t cry now.”
The man wept bitterly in her embrace.
