22 – Chapter 22
“What should you call me?”
Bo Jinye looked at You Xin as if he were an idiot.
He was pretending to be foolish…
But You Xin was genuinely simple-minded.
Bo Xiyuan came upstairs to call You Xin, “Young Master You Xin, your admission letter has arrived.” He waved the envelope in his hand.
You Xin showed little interest, “Oh, alright…”
An Sheng remembered that You Xin would be attending Carlton University with her and couldn’t help but chuckle, “Young Master You Xin, from now on at school.”
“Will you call me Fourth Sister-in-law, or Little Madam, or perhaps Sister An Sheng?”
You Xin looked resentful, “I won’t call you anything.”
“That won’t do, we might even be in the same class.” An Sheng hugged Bo Jinye who had snuggled up to her, “Right, A Ye?”
“He doesn’t deserve to.” Bo Jinye said succinctly.
An Sheng burst out laughing, while You Xin exclaimed, “?? Fourth Brother, why are you siding with an outsider!”
“You are the outsider.” Bo Jinye retorted displeased.
You Xin felt abandoned by the whole world. Bo Xiyuan added fuel to the fire, “From the looks of it now, you really are the outsider.”
You Xin: “…”
I want to go home, I’m going home.
Of course, Bo Jinye would place You Xin and An Sheng in the same class—how else could he protect An Sheng?
Upon hearing this dreadful news, You Xin completely deflated, collapsing on the sofa and weakly groaning.
Bo Xiyuan found it amusing, “Do you really dislike Little Madam that much?”
You Xin turned over, not wanting to deal with him.
“One thing you have to accept is that your Fourth Sister-in-law can only be Miss An Sheng.” Bo Xiyuan patted him.
You Xin muttered, “I know, I could tell just by looking at Fourth Brother.”
The young man turned back to look at Bo Xiyuan, “When Fourth Brother met An Sheng, he turned into a fool in love.”
“Before, with An Ruyue, at most he would bring her meals, help her out, make phone calls, or give gifts on holidays.”
“I even told Grandma back then that I never realized Fourth Brother was the warm boyfriend type.”
Bo Xiyuan hummed curiously, “What did Old Madam say?”
You Xin thought for a moment, “Grandma said Fourth Brother wasn’t warm—he was just polite.”
The young man sat up abruptly, looking surprised, “No way, could Grandma have seen back then that Fourth Brother and An Ruyue wouldn’t work out?”
“Old Madam has vast experience and has seen countless people, so of course she could tell. Why don’t you tell her how President Bo is getting along with Miss An Sheng now and see what she says.” Bo Xiyuan chuckled.
You Xin thought it over and found it reasonable. He picked up his phone and pondered, “Brother Xi Yuan, how should I tell Grandma?”
“Don’t mention President Bo acting foolish, just complain about him being too clingy with Little Madam.” Bo Xiyuan began setting a trap.
After all, he wasn’t the one saying it.
At this, You Xin perked up, his fingers flying as he sent messages to his grandmother.
In the capital, at the You family residence, Old Madam You was playing cards with her family when a servant brought over her phone, “Old Madam, Young Master You Xin has sent you a message.”
The old lady put on her glasses, “Let me see quickly.”
After reading a couple of lines, she had the servant take over her card game and went to sit on the sofa to read carefully.
She couldn’t stop smiling.
“Grandma, you have no idea what Fourth Brother has become now. He dotes endlessly on that woman he married!”
“He doesn’t even want to go to the company anymore, sticking to her all day, even holding her while eating.”
“He won’t let anyone say anything bad about her and gives her whatever she wants.”
“He even personally sewed a pillow for her. Brother Xi Yuan and I were absolutely shocked.””Hmm…” The Old Madam watched her beloved grandson chattering away and couldn’t help but feel curious. “How strange, doesn’t Xiao Jin dislike that young lady? Why has his attitude suddenly changed? A Qian, A Qian!”
“Yes, Old Madam, I’m here. Your lotus seed soup is ready.” A lively young girl approached carrying a bowl.
“Make arrangements, I’m going to Luocheng.” The Old Madam removed her glasses.
Bo Qianying paused in surprise. “To Luocheng? Ah, are you going to see Young Master You Xin?”
“I’ll be staying at Brocade Garden for a few days. You’ll come with me.” The Old Madam smiled warmly.
Bo Qianying nodded happily. “Wonderful, I’ll go prepare right away.”
It had been so, so long since she had last seen him!
In Brocade Garden, An Sheng was carried out of the kitchen by Bo Jinye. “A Ye, what are you doing?”
“No making delicious food for others.” Bo Jinye said with complete seriousness.
“I’m not making food for others, I made some puddings for A Ye.” An Sheng laughed affectionately.
Bo Jinye still carried her away. “Aren’t there guests coming later?”
He had heard Shi Yan mention this morning that Pei Hanqing would be visiting today.
Shi Yan had even tried to find an excuse to take him to the company, hoping to avoid potential trouble.
An Sheng was pressed against the sofa being kissed, letting out intermittent soft laughs. “I want to see this man who covets my A Ye.”
“I don’t like men!” Bo Jinye felt the need to defend himself again.
An Sheng wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him to soothe him. “Mhm, mhm…”
This coveting was probably more about wanting to use him.
After Bo Jinye fell asleep last night, An Sheng had contacted Owen.
She didn’t communicate with Owen frequently – they hardly contacted each other unless necessary.
So Owen didn’t know about An Sheng’s fainting spell, only sending her the information he had gathered.
“I’m going to Country L.”
An Sheng looked at the message from the man and thought for a moment before replying, “That place suits you better.”
The domestic situation wasn’t ideal, while Country L was a holy land for hackers and tech enthusiasts worldwide. If Owen hadn’t been waiting for her, he would have gone there long ago.
An Sheng had told him many times, but Owen was stubborn, so she could only maintain more distance.
If she hadn’t still been working on Brocade Garden’s network systems, she wouldn’t have troubled him this time.
An Sheng carefully reviewed the information Owen had sent.
Indeed, Bo Jinye wasn’t actually from the Luocheng Bo family.
The Luocheng Bo family was a branch of the capital’s Bo family, and quite a successful one at that.
Among the four great families of the capital, the Bo and You families had maintained close ties for generations, almost like one family.
In the capital’s main residence, Bo Jinye didn’t hold the prestigious position of eldest son or grandson. His father had mysteriously disappeared years ago, and the Bo family had suffered significant losses because of it.
Bo Jinye’s mother, Ning Xu, had reached an agreement with the Bo family head at the time and brought the young Bo Jinye away from the capital to settle in Luocheng.
Pretending to be the wife of the Luocheng Bo family, Bo Jinye became their child.
Pei Hanqing and An Ruyue were childhood companions he met after this move.
An Sheng also reviewed the past communications between Pei Hanqing and Bo Jinye but found nothing unusual.
Hackers could discover everything online, but some things simply didn’t exist on the internet.
An Sheng grew increasingly puzzled. Bo Jinye wasn’t truly foolish – she had to understand why his attitude toward her, An Ruyue, and Pei Hanqing was so unusual.
“Jinye, Jinye!” A man’s voice called from outside.
An Sheng snapped out of her thoughts and tried to get up, only to be pushed down again by Bo Jinye. The man was pressing down on An Sheng like some large dog, refusing to get off, nuzzling and rubbing against her, kissing and caressing.
Pei Hanqing entered and saw a man and woman entangled on the sofa, startling him into exclaiming in a foreign language, “Damn it!”
