8 – Chapter 8

“I want Sheng Sheng to kiss me.”

An Ruyue’s eyes reddened with anger, her voice turning shrill. “An Sheng! How dare you speak to me like that?!”Full novel: After Rebirth, President Bo Tears Up the Scumbag Script and Kneels to Win Back His Wife — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“You! Jinye brother, look at her!”

Bo Jinye buried his face in An Sheng’s neck, greedily breathing in the girl’s sweet fragrance, paying no attention to An Ruyue whatsoever.

[Sheng Sheng kiss me again, I want Sheng Sheng to kiss me.]

An Sheng lifted the man’s chin and kissed him, her voice gentle. “Shall we go back to our room?”

Bo Jinye’s eyes lit up as he nodded repeatedly.

An Ruyue stared dumbfounded as Bo Jinye carried An Sheng away.

This… this is absolutely absurd!

What kind of love potion has An Sheng given Bo Jinye?!

There’s no reason for Bo Jinye to not even glance at me – something must be wrong!

Frowning deeply, An Ruyue called Shi Yan while leaving.

“Brother Shi Yan, it’s Ruyue.” I heard that Jinye brother is sick, is that true?” An Ruyue probed cautiously.

The reason An Ruyue could be treated like a little princess, surrounded by admirers in Luocheng, wasn’t just because of her looks and family background.

She was quite clever and skilled at reading men’s hearts.

Even Shi Yan momentarily thought An Ruyue had discovered that Bo Jinye had fallen down the stairs and was pretending to be foolish. After a brief pause, he responded, “Why would you ask that, Miss Ruyue?”

“I’m at Brocade Garden and saw sister taking care of him, so I’m a bit concerned,” An Ruyue said vaguely.

If Shi Yan wasn’t certain they had kept the matter well concealed, he would have believed An Ruyue knew about Bo Jinye pretending to be foolish.

“President Bo has just been busy with work recently and is resting at home. As for Little Madam taking care of him, that’s between husband and wife – as his personal assistant, it’s not my place to inquire,” Shi Yan replied politely with a laugh.

An Ruyue narrowed her eyes and smiled. I’m just concerned about Brother Jinye. Since sister is here, I’ll head home then.”If anything happens to Brother Jinye, Brother Shiyan, you mustn’t hide it from me.” Our families are old friends after all. Although Jinye and I couldn’t marry, but…”

“Never mind, there’s no use talking about this anymore. I won’t disturb your work, Brother Shiyan. Bye.”

An Ruyue hung up, her face cold as frost as she got in the car and left.

Fortunately, she still had her informants within Brocade Garden.

Returning to the An residence, Yao Manshi was getting a manicure. Though over forty, she maintained herself so well she only appeared slightly older than An Ruyue.

When dressed up and going out, people would think she was a young married woman, never imagining she had a daughter in her twenties.

“Why are you so angry?” Yao Manshi asked softly.

The woman’s voice was also sweet, perfectly suited to captivate mature men.

“An Sheng, An Sheng has moved into Brocade Garden, and Bo Jinye has started ignoring me too. I don’t understand what’s happening.” An Ruyue sat beside her, deep in thought.

Yao Manshi made a sound of acknowledgment. “Is that so? I thought he detested An Sheng.”

“Exactly, that’s why I can’t figure out what went wrong. Just a few days ago, An Sheng was being punished to stand, and I deliberately went to mock her. That’s when things started going wrong between those two.” An Ruyue frowned deeply.

Yao Manshi didn’t seem particularly concerned. “You just need to maintain good relations with those young masters from the capital. As for Bo Jinye, he might wield influence in Luocheng, but he’s nothing compared to those from the capital.”

“Hey, do you think this color looks good?”

Suppressing her irritation, An Ruyue glanced at it. “Yes, it looks good. Where’s Dad?””He went to play basketball. I didn’t go because I don’t like that kind of place.” Yao Manshi examined her nails.

“What don’t you like about it?” An Yuandao entered with a smile.

“Husband—” Yao Manshi called out in a coquettish tone, “You’re back so soon.”

In front of An Yuandao, Yao Manshi adopted the demeanor of a delicate woman. Despite having a grown daughter, she still enjoyed acting cute and playing the fool.

An Yuandao, who appeared refined and scholarly, actually fell for her act completely and doted on her immensely.

In Luocheng, the two were known as the perfect fairy-tale couple.

But who would have known that Yao Manshi was actually a mistress who seduced her best friend’s husband?

In Brocade Garden, An Sheng slowly traced her fingers over Bo Jinye’s shoulders and back, allowing him to hold her while her eyes remained cold and somber.

Sensing An Sheng’s displeasure, Bo Jinye grew uneasy, his voice softening considerably, “Sheng Sheng…”

An Sheng snapped out of her thoughts and smiled at him, “It’s nothing…”

An Ruyue’s behavior was just like her mistress mother’s—pretending to be innocent and pitiful while manipulating men in the palm of her hand.

If it weren’t for Yao Manshi, her mother wouldn’t have been shocked and enraged during pregnancy, leading to a difficult labor and passing away shortly after giving birth to her.

The vast family fortune left behind was entirely handed over to Yao Manshi by that hypocrite An Yuandao.

Those were her mother’s belongings!

After growing up, she had been constantly thinking of ways to reclaim her mother’s inheritance.

But…

An Sheng took a deep breath and leaned against Bo Jinye’s chest, closing her eyes.

But her mother, until her dying breath, still held onto a sliver of hope for An Yuandao, and was coaxed by that man into writing a legally binding will.

Leaving everything under her name to An Yuandao.

None of the elders who cared for her mother back then remained, and she had uncovered these facts through her own investigations.

Since finishing university courses through self-study at fourteen, An Sheng had been developing her strengths, with her primary goal being to recover her mother’s inheritance.

Progress had been slow, and coupled with meeting Bo Jinye, she had accomplished almost nothing over the past four years.

An Sheng was just like her mother Xu Yingwan—once she fell in love, she loved wholeheartedly.

An Yuandao was the calamity in Xu Yingwan’s life.

Bo Jinye was also An Sheng’s calamity, but fortunately, An Sheng had suddenly come to her senses.

Though it was less about awakening and more about becoming disillusioned with her previous approach, wanting to find a new way to regain control over Bo Jinye.

An Sheng opened her eyes and looked at the man, dark light swirling in her gaze.

She intended to firmly hold onto the title of Bo Jinye’s Madam, then gradually tighten her grip on him.

From beginning to end, An Sheng had never truly considered divorcing Bo Jinye.

“Sheng Sheng, you’re unhappy,” Bo Jinye asked softly.

“Is it because of that person earlier?”

An Sheng pinched his ear, “Yes, because I really dislike her.”

“A Ye, you used to like her quite a lot before.”

“I definitely didn’t!” Bo Jinye responded firmly, tightening his embrace around An Sheng, “I would never like her.”

“I like Sheng Sheng.”

An Sheng chuckled lightly, “Is that so? Don’t you feel even a bit familiar when you look at her?”

“No, not at all!” Bo Jinye looked anxiously at An Sheng, “I don’t remember, I only remember Sheng Sheng.”

[That damned An Ruyue, I’ll deal with her immediately!]

[Anyone who makes Sheng Sheng unhappy deserves to die.]

Hearing the man’s inner thoughts, An Sheng curved her lips into a smile.

Now she could completely confirm Bo Jinye’s true feelings.

Although she didn’t know why such a sudden change had occurred. But, she would slowly find out in the future.”A Ye is so good.” An Sheng tugged at the man’s collar, pulling him closer, then lowered her gaze and kissed him.

“A reward…”

The sweet voice escaped from her soft lips. Bo Jinye delightfully swallowed the girl’s words, using clumsy acting to disguise his eagerness.
