Ever since Red Chase had met Zhu Mingyan, it had never seen her use her spirit fire.
It had heard that the spirit fire was powerful, fierce, and difficult to control. Seeing it today left me deeply shocked.
“Is this real? The spirit fire can actually burn underwater…”
Zhu Mingyan’s attack hit its target. The Three-Tailed Fish Dragon clearly had not expected the spirit fire to follow it into the water. It became frightened and thrashed violently in the river.
However, the spirit fire attached itself to its body and burned even more fiercely, looking as if it would soon burn through its protective scales.
The Fish Dragon struggled wildly underwater. Within moments, it had awakened all the other spirits and monsters living nearby.
These creatures had spent a long time in the dark cave without seeing daylight. When they suddenly saw firelight and heard the Fish Dragon’s loud struggles, they all became restless.
Realizing that water could not extinguish the flames, the Fish Dragon immediately spread its fins and slammed them downward. Huge waves over three meters high rose into the air as it leaped out of the water.
Its body was covered in hard scales. Enraged by the spirit fire burning on it, it raised its three armored tails and swept them toward Zhu Mingyan in the air.
Zhu Mingyan was already suffering from the increasingly violent spirit fire inside her body. She quickly launched three or four fire dragons at the incoming tails.
The powerful tails were stopped, but the force of the collision threw Zhu Mingyan backward. She rolled several times before landing on one knee.
The cave instantly became much brighter.
Sparks scattered everywhere and ignited a field of spiritual plants. The rapidly growing spirit fire lit the entire cave as brightly as daylight.
Ning Qiubai could not help crying out.
The Youjing Grass was very rare, and she had wanted to dig up some plants to bring back and grow.
Zhu Mingyan reacted immediately.
“Fuchuan, those spiritual plants!”
Fuchuan stopped chasing the frightened creatures running around the cave and followed Zhu Mingyan’s gaze.
Seeing the burning field of spiritual plants, it immediately rushed over.
It naturally loved eating spirit fire. If the situation had not been urgent earlier, it would have happily run over long ago.
Besides, the plants looked so thick and soft that they seemed perfect to roll around in.
Ning Qiubai, who was watching from the side, had no idea what Fuchuan was thinking. Seeing it rush over, she finally relaxed.
She quickly found a safe corner and nervously observed the battle.
The Three-Tailed Fish Dragon was completely enraged.
The spirit fire was close to burning through its protective scales. It swung its three tails wildly, chasing and attacking Zhu Mingyan.
Every strike sent rocks flying.
Zhu Mingyan focused on dodging.
When she could not avoid an attack, she used spirit fire to block or counter it.
Without Fuchuan’s help, she had to spend more effort maintaining the balance inside her body. Fighting the Fish Dragon was becoming increasingly difficult.
Several times, flying rocks struck her.
Ning Qiubai immediately threw prepared pills toward Zhu Mingyan and shouted,
“Stop pushing yourself! Let Fuchuan help! If you keep dodging, you’ll run out of strength first. You need to attack!”
Zhu Mingyan swallowed a pill and tugged on Fuchuan’s collar to call it back.
Through their spiritual connection, she told Red Chase,
“Harass the Fish Dragon and lure it to the southeast corner. Wait for my signal.”
Red Chase instantly shot forward.
The Fish Dragon’s body was surrounded by spirit fire, and its scales had become weaker from the constant burning.
Red Chase seized the opportunity and repeatedly attacked its weak points.
Its attacks were extremely fast.
It even boldly bit one of the Fish Dragon’s fins.
The Fish Dragon became furious.
It temporarily stopped chasing Zhu Mingyan and turned its attention to Red Chase.
Red Chase was small and very fast. While dodging attacks, it fled rapidly toward the southeast corner of the cave.
The enraged Fish Dragon chased after it.
The entire underground river churned violently, and the frightened cave creatures crashed around in panic.
The southeast corner was near another cave exit. There was a large pool of water there, making the area relatively open.
After leading the Fish Dragon there, Red Chase urgently called out,
“I’m here. Hurry up!”
“I’m coming!”
Zhu Mingyan pushed her spirit fire and spiritual power to their limits.
Stepping through the flames, she flew to within several meters of the Fish Dragon.
A black-red fireball formed in her hand.
Seizing the perfect moment, she slammed it toward the back of the Fish Dragon’s neck and shouted,
“Fuchuan! Bite it!”
Fuchuan immediately chased after the fireball.
The instant it struck the Fish Dragon, it exploded.
The scales on the creature’s neck shattered, exposing vulnerable flesh.
Fuchuan bit down on it immediately.
The Fish Dragon was shocked.
It struggled violently and swung its three tails back to protect itself, trying to crush Fuchuan.
Zhu Mingyan became nervous.
“Fuchuan, be careful!”
Suddenly, powerful wind energy spiraled upward.
Fuchuan let out a series of roars, and its body instantly expanded until it was nearly the same size as the Fish Dragon.
Its back rose high into the air as it directly blocked the attacks of all three tails.
Zhu Mingyan was stunned.
The Fish Dragon was equally terrified.
The enlarged Fuchuan pinned it firmly to the ground.
Its fangs pierced through the flesh on the back of the Fish Dragon’s neck.
The intense pain gave the creature a level of fear it had never experienced before.
It desperately struggled backward.
Then it suddenly felt something pierce through its abdomen.
Before the overwhelming pain spread through its body, it turned its head in fear and looked forward.
Zhu Mingyan was standing there, wearing a bright and confident smile.
The next second, a massive explosion erupted from the center of the Fish Dragon’s body.
The entire Northern Qiong Cave shook violently.
The Fish Dragon was nearly blown in half.
Standing in the towering flames, Fuchuan pinned the dying Fish Dragon to the ground and proudly waited for Zhu Mingyan to inspect its work.
After confirming that the Fish Dragon had suffered a fatal wound and would not survive much longer, Zhu Mingyan finally relaxed.
She was about to pull Fuchuan into her arms as usual when she suddenly realized something.
At its current size, she could only hug one of its legs.
For some reason, she felt slightly unhappy.
“You can control your size?” she suddenly asked.
Fuchuan nodded.
It quickly shrank back to its normal form and immediately jumped into Zhu Mingyan’s arms, rubbing against her affectionately.
It rested its head on her shoulder.
The strange feeling in Zhu Mingyan’s heart instantly disappeared.
Very satisfied, she stroked its fur while calming her spiritual meridians and waiting for the raging spirit fire inside her body to settle down.
Just as she was almost fully recovered, hurried footsteps suddenly echoed from outside the cave.
It sounded as if four or five people were approaching.
Then a young voice suddenly rang out nearby in disbelief:
“Senior Brother Guan! How did Northern Qiong Cave end up like this?!”
Senior Brother Guan?
A bad feeling suddenly rose in Zhu Mingyan’s heart.
