The sun was shining brightly, and when Sui Yuye entered the office, he thought he had walked into the wrong place. He was stunned.
“How is it? Not bad, right?” Jiao Shu peeked out from behind the computer screen, her eyes sparkling. “I have good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?”
Sui Yuye poured himself a glass of water. “The good news.”
“We’re fully booked!!!” Jiao Shu slammed the table:
“Sui Yuye, your entire schedule for the next three months has been completely filled with appointments! And the deposits have already been paid! Not just from our local Fan City, but there are even several appointments from White City!”
Sui Yuye spat out the water in his mouth.
He was dumbfounded. “All three months fully booked? And prepaid?”
Jiao Shu pulled him over to the computer to show him. “If it weren’t for the three-month booking limit, I bet we could keep scheduling beyond that.”
“I won’t even be working as a bodyguard anymore after three months.”
“Oh right, I almost forgot about that.”
“What’s the bad news?” Sui Yuye asked.
“That little Oriole you have a crush on already has a partner. You’re out of luck.”
Sui Yuye waved his hand dismissively. “Only you would call a simple liking a crush. Let’s get to the point. How are the appointments arranged? I have to go out later.”
He was going to the Qi family to find Qi Shengxian.
Jiao Shu: “Since the Shao family’s appointment was canceled, the freed-up time was filled right away. Tonight, it’s the Fu brothers. In a few days, it’s Mr. Chu Mingsi’s side. I’m still coordinating the timing for the others.”
She looked up at Sui Yuye with a serious expression:
“About tonight’s appointment with the Fu family, maybe you should consider canceling it?”
“Why?”
“I heard through the grapevine that the Fu family’s business has undergone some changes. They’ve hired a lot of bodyguards, and the purpose is kept secret. I just have a bad feeling about it.”
“Don’t overthink it. Fu E and Fu Zhong will be fine.” With his precognitive ability, there was no way anything could happen to those two brothers.
“What if something happens to you?”
Sui Yuye patted her shoulder gently. “Don’t worry. How could anything happen to me?”
The scene shifted to the Qi family, which was in complete disarray.
Several bodyguards lay scattered across the lawn. Some were clutching their knees and howling in pain, some were trying but failing to get up, and one had even been stuffed into a large flowerpot, legs kicking helplessly outside.
In the middle of it all stood the only man.
Tall and slender, his long legs were a sight to behold even with a casual kick, but the force behind them was brutal.
The old butler was on the verge of tears. “Mr. Sui, let’s talk this over…”
Sui Yuye shot him a glance. “Hand over my Sheng Xian.”
“Mr. Sui, we didn’t force the young master. He came back willingly.”
“Willingly?” Sui Yuye sneered. “I’ve raised that child for ten years. I know him better than anyone. If he were willing, he wouldn’t have ignored my calls last night. Enough talk. Hand him over.”
“Brother!”
Qi Shengxian suddenly appeared at the entrance of the main house.
Sui Yuye ran over, checking him up and down. “Are you okay? Don’t be afraid. I’ll take you home.”
“I’m fine, but brother…”
“Sheng Qian, why don’t you invite our guest inside?”
Mother Qi’s voice came from within.
Sui Yuye frowned, and Qi Shengxian gently took his hand. “Let’s go in first.”
Mother Qi had forced her love on Father Qi.
Mother Qi is a Rom, from an ancient aristocratic family with hereditary traditions. She used gender dominance to force Father Qi to be with her, and they had children. Father Qi was utterly disgusted and swapped their biological child.
What’s most terrifying is that the Qi family has been like this for generations—controlling and pathologically obsessive traits passed down through the ages, forcing the other party to stay with them, focusing solely on possessing the body while disregarding the heart.
The Rom gene can sometimes be truly horrifying.
The dominant gene makes Roms instinctively harbor dark, frenzied thoughts, craving to seize Cubs and make them submit.
Correspondingly, Cubs also instinctively enjoy being dominated, but that doesn’t mean they’ll accept domination from just any Rom.
But over the past decade, Sui Yuye has raised Qi Shengxian exceptionally well—so upright he couldn’t be straighter.
Mother Qi smiled. “Mr. Sui, thank you for taking care of Shengqian these past ten years. The Qi family will remember this, and you needn’t worry about financial compensation—”
“Mrs. Qi, I think you’ve misunderstood something. I’m here to take him home, not to ask for compensation,” Sui Yuye said.
Qi Shengxian, originally named Qi Shengqian, took his mother’s surname.
Mother Qi: “I understand. As parents who’ve been absent for so many years, we truly have no right to ask you to let go.”
Qi Shengxian: “I want to go with my brother.”
Mother Qi fell silent.
After a long while, she finally said, “That’s possible, but Mr. Sui, the bloodline cannot end with my generation.”
“He can go with you, but sooner or later, he’ll need to become the heir and take over the family.”
The subtext was: he can only go with you temporarily; in the future, he’ll be too busy to pay you any attention.
Sui Yuye: “No, why should I—”
“Brother, let me talk to her.”
Sui Yuye hesitated, looking at him.
“Don’t worry.” Qi Shengxian smiled at him. “Wait for me outside for a bit, okay? I’ll come out soon, and we’ll go home together.”
Sui Yuye ruffled his hair. “…Then call me if anything happens. I’ll be right outside.”
As the footsteps faded away, the gentle helplessness on Mother Qi’s face vanished instantly. She walked up to Qi Shengxian. “Satisfied? Playing out this act with you.”
“So you want to use this method to let him know your true identity?”
The softness on Qi Shengxian’s face disappeared without a trace. He tilted his head slightly, a faint smile curling at the corner of his mouth. “It’s to make him even more reluctant to let me go, to cherish me, so he’ll be mine alone.”
“After all, there have been quite a few people bothering my brother lately. This is the only way.” Qi Shengxian sighed.
His brother had no idea how captivating he was.
Sincere to everyone, soft-hearted yet prickly and unapproachable, always stirring up a desire to destroy him, yet paradoxically caring for others—who wouldn’t want to snatch someone like that when they appear?
He liked it when Sui Yuye called his name with a smile, but he loved it even more when Sui Yuye cried and begged him.
A broken, sobbing cry would surely be beautiful.
Mother Qi: “Why not be more direct? If he were a Cub, it’d be easier. Look at your father—he’s locked in his room now, quiet and obedient after punishment, unable to see anyone but me.”
Qi Shengxian: “I’m not you.”
“Don’t suppress your nature. You might find this roundabout method interesting now, but what if one day the person you desire runs away?”
“Simple. Just break him completely.”
From physical to mental, he could not manage on his own without him, unable to see anyone, with no need to think of anyone.
“But before that, why not take a look out the window first?” Mother Qi tapped her finger toward the window.
Qi Shengxian furrowed his brows slightly and followed the direction of her finger to look outside.
