Mian Guanfei tilted his head slightly, his expression unchanged. The driver, his face covered in blood, trembled as he spoke, “It wasn’t on purpose! The car—the car suddenly went out of control!”
“Is that so? I wasn’t on purpose either. After all, you’re not dead, are you?” Mian Guanfei lifted the driver’s head with one hand and threw him to the ground.
He removed his blood-stained black gloves and tossed them aside, then took out his phone to make a call.
Sui Yuye silently retracted the foot he had extended.
If he ran now, would he get beaten up?
Upon arriving at the destination, the interior’s extravagance was utterly excessive, with the very air smelling of money.
As the director led the way beside Mian Guanfei, he glanced at Sui Yuye several times, leaving Sui Yuye utterly baffled.
They encountered a glamorous woman who covered her mouth in surprise. “What a coincidence! I never thought I’d run into Mr. Mian here. Does this count as a successful meeting with the big shot?”
Sui Yuye glanced at the bag in her hand and understood.
The largest luxury conglomerate in Fan City was founded by the Crown Family, with Mian Guanfei holding the largest share. He was not only the chairman but also the fashion spokesperson.
The priceless bag in the woman’s hand was from a brand under the Crown Family.
“Oh? You actually brought someone with you. Is he Cub?” The woman curiously looked behind Mian Guanfei.
Catching sight of Sui Yuye’s face, her eyes widened. “Wow, he’s really good-looking…”
“Take him upstairs first,” Mian Guanfei said, turning his head to the director.
Sui Yuye immediately sensed danger.
Was he about to be abandoned? He had, after all, saved him.
Seeing Mian Guanfei about to leave, Sui Yuye quickly grabbed his arm. “Wait, I actually don’t—”
“Don’t say another word! Come with me! Don’t you know Mr. Mian has a cleanliness obsession?!” The director whispered harshly, pulling Sui Yuye’s hand away and half-dragging him along.
The director broke into a cold sweat, waiting for Mian Guanfei to speak.
But Mian Guanfei only glanced back at the hand that had been touched and said nothing.
The director: “…?” What in the world?
The elevator doors closed, and the mirror on the wall reflected Sui Yuye’s figure.
His features were exceptionally well-defined, surpassing mere handsomeness—appealing to both women and men. With prominent brow bones and full lips, he exuded a careless, cool aura that made people hesitant to approach yet irresistibly drawn to him.
His physique was equally flawless—broad shoulders, a narrow waist, combining strength with an effortless sensuality.
While the director was explaining the rules, Sui Yuye wasn’t listening at all. His gaze drifted away from his reflection in the mirror and landed on a gleaming golden sign:
Venus Club.
Sui Yuye’s eyes widened instantly.
The Venus Club?!
He had actually been brought here—the top entertainment venue in Fan City, with entry barriers so high they tripped up countless wealthy heirs. It wasn’t just about money; even those with power and influence had to prove their worth.
Because this place served only the elite.
Wasn’t he just delivering himself straight into the wolf’s den?!
As soon as the elevator doors opened, the director took one step before being struck hard on the back of the head. Sui Yuye slipped away like an eel.
The director shouted, “Hey!! Stop right there!”
Sui Yuye ignored him, turned a corner, spotted a slightly ajar door, pushed it open, slipped inside, and closed it behind him.
The scent of alcohol and perfume mingled in the air. Sui Yuye looked up and saw an all-too-familiar face.
Damn! Wasn’t that his love rival?!
How could I run into this guy here.
Afraid the supervisor would catch up, Sui Yuye rushed over in a few steps, pushed aside the Cub clinging to the man, braced his hands on the backrest on either side of the man’s head, and under the other’s astonished gaze, sat on his lap.
“Tsk, you’re heavy as hell.”
The man made a disgusted sound.
Sui Yuye’s eye twitched.
Shao Jinghe—they had been desk mates since their student days, with a feud deeper than anyone could imagine.
Back in the days before their secondary genders had differentiated, the two of them would always fall for the same girl, and they fought over it more times than they could count.
What Sui Yuye couldn’t stand even more was that Shao Jinghe had been openly rotten since childhood, using his looks as a weapon, relying on that handsome face to toy with people everywhere, ordering them around like servants.
In the end, the two of them were so busy fighting they never managed to date anyone.
Seeing that face up close, Sui Yuye still couldn’t help but feel annoyed.
Even the most cloying, flowery words couldn’t do justice to his looks—Shao Jinghe’s appearance was simply unfair. Both had black hair, but his was thicker, with slightly upturned eyes, a straight nose, and full lips—gorgeous and handsome, to put it bluntly, every inch of him exuded perfection.
Shao Jinghe raised an eyebrow, eyeing him suspiciously. “What are you doing here?” As he spoke, he motioned for the other Cubs to leave.
Sui Yuye had no time to explain. He reached out to fiddle with his buttons, pretending to be busy. “Play along with me.”
He haphazardly buttoned them up one by one, then suddenly felt something was off and tried to undo them again.
Shao Jinghe grabbed his hand, his tone mocking. “What’s a Switch like you pretending to be a Cub for? And sneaking into a place like this—do you want to be a Cub?”
“Impossible,” Sui Yuye replied quickly, keeping an ear out for any movement outside the door.
He gritted his teeth and softened his voice. “…Can you do me a favor? Don’t let anyone know I’m here.”
“Beg me.”
“I’m begging you.”
Shao Jinghe paused, narrowing his eyes slightly.
Seeing him remain silent for a while, Sui Yuye thought he wasn’t going to help and was about to get up and leave when a hand pressed against his waist and pulled him back, its grip so tight it seemed afraid he’d run away.
“So you can be scared too?” Shao Jinghe chuckled softly.
“Venus isn’t some low-class joint. What’s there to be afraid of?”
Sui Yuye only heard a crisp click beside his ear, followed by a chill on his wrists—his hands were cuffed behind his back.
He froze for a moment, then whipped his head around to look at the shiny silver handcuffs on his wrists. “I didn’t ask you to do this! You’re just making things worse!”
As he spoke, a sudden chill swept across his chest.
Shao Jinghe hooked a finger into his open collar, pulling it wider.
He glanced down. “Who taught you to wear a suit with nothing underneath?”
Sui Yuye was speechless. “Stop messing around, Shao Jinghe. Unlock these, now.”
“How fast?”
“As fast as you did last night.”
Shao Jinghe: “…”
He took the key in his hand and tossed it away with a flick of his wrist.
Sui Yuye watched as the key vanished into thin air, stunned. Frantically, he turned his head to search the floor. “Are you fucking crazy? If we can’t find the key later—”
Before he could finish, a hand turned his face back.
Shao Jinghe looked up at him, the aggression in his eyes devoid of any amusement. His low voice rumbled from his chest, icy and deliberate. “Sui Yuye, aren’t you good at sensing danger?”
“Then guess what I’m going to do to you next.”
Sui Yuye’s expression stiffened.
He could foresee danger, but only for others, not for himself.
In other words, if Shao Jinghe intended to do something to him, he had no way to guard against it at all.
