Sui Yuye threw the wine glass as well. Quan Wangcheng sidestepped it and walked toward him.
Chu Mingsi raised a hand to block his path. “You can’t touch Sui Yuye.”
Quan Wangcheng glanced sideways. “Oh?”
“You don’t want to cause discord with the Fu Family at this time, do you? Those twins have taken over the entire underworld and are at the peak of their influence. Besides, others will eventually find out about your kidnapping.”
Quan Wangcheng lifted his eyelids. “So what?”
“You’re not the only one who’s noticed Sui Yuye. You won’t be able to keep him locked up for long.” Chu Mingsi shook his head with a faint smile. “I advise you not to entertain any misguided ideas unless you want to make enemies of the other families.”
A low chuckle escaped Quan Wangcheng’s chest. The bloodstains on his profound features made him appear particularly sinister.
They turned their gaze to Sui Yuye. Water droplets continuously dripped from his clothes, his shirt clinging tightly to his body, faintly revealing the contours of his physique beneath—sexy and well-built.
Their eyes roamed over Sui Yuye for a moment.
Sui Yuye rubbed his chilled arm. Damn it, winter was almost here, and with this cold wind blowing, he was nearly frozen to death.
Suddenly, a jacket was draped over his shoulders.
Sui Yuye immediately shrugged it off. “Don’t touch me!”
“You’re soaked. You’ll catch a cold.”
“Cut the act.” Sui Yuye sneered coldly. “Chu Mingsi, don’t think I don’t know it was you who told Quan Wangcheng. The two of you are in cahoots.”
One oppressed and intimidated him, the other appeared to help him—were they just playing him?
Someone of Quan Wangcheng’s status wouldn’t target him just because he played the piano unless someone had provided information—telling him he was a Switch or something else. That someone could only be Chu Mingsi.
What kind of decent person would associate with Quan Wangcheng?
Even Shao Jinghe disdained getting involved with Quan Wangcheng.
Chu Mingsi stood there, his glasses frames dull and heavy, yet his gaze was gentle and seemingly approachable. Most of his face was hidden behind the glasses, concealing his true appearance.
He remained silent for a few seconds before smiling faintly. “You’re clever. You guessed right.”
Sui Yuye snorted and threw the towel on the ground. Chu Mingsi spoke again:
“But I have no intention of sharing you with him.”
Sui Yuye: “…?”
He didn’t understand.
By the next day, Sui Yuye realized he couldn’t leave. He was trapped in Quan Wangcheng’s estate, but he had no intention of staying put obediently. Dragging his inconveniently mobile right foot, he smashed anything he saw.
After all, he was the son of an investment bank CEO—money wasn’t an issue.
Armed with a broken-off chair leg, Sui Yuye stood at a corridor corner, waiting for someone to return so he could give Quan Wangcheng another blow to the head.
Hearing approaching footsteps, a figure appeared. Sui Yuye immediately swung—
But he also saw the person’s face.
Shao Jinghe?!
Sui Yuye forcibly halted his swing, crashing back against the wall as a hand gripped his neck.
“It’s truly remarkable. Chu Mingsi actually changed his mind at the last moment and even told me not to touch you,” Quan Wangcheng said.
“So what? You still did it anyway?” Sui Yuye aimed a punch at his face. The other man stepped back, releasing his neck.
Sui Yuye picked up the chair and threw it. Quan Wangcheng sidestepped it and advanced toward him step by step:
“He refused to cooperate halfway through and even wanted to take you away. I’m curious—what is it about you that he likes?”
Sui Yuye was utterly confused, feeling only that this person was insane.
Quan Wangcheng kicked his right leg, which was already unsteady. Before Sui Yuye could fall, he grabbed Quan Wangcheng and slapped him across the face.
The two of them fell to the ground together.
“Chu Mingsi said you really like my face. Seems like that’s not the case?” Quan Wangcheng’s cheek was suddenly grazed by the edge of a blade.
“Yeah, I like it so much I want to ruin it,” Sui Yuye said coldly.
His hand holding the knife was intercepted, leaving a bloody gash on the other’s cheek. He lifted his leg and kicked Quan Wangcheng in the neck with immense force, producing a sharp crack.
Seizing the opportunity, Quan Wangcheng grabbed his thigh, slid his hand down, and gripped his ankle, pressing his thumb against the swollen, fragile bone.
“Ah—!”
Quan Wangcheng heard a beautiful cry of pain. He watched as Sui Yuye’s pupils contracted sharply, his jaw trembling uncontrollably from the agony, saliva dripping continuously from the corner of his open mouth. That leg began to convulse uncontrollably.
Quan Wangcheng loved seeing Sui Yuye like this—pitiful yet dazzling.
He glanced around. “Having fun smashing things?”
Sweat dripping coldly, Sui Yuye forced out a hoarse, mocking tone. “You didn’t tie my hands and feet, so weren’t you just waiting for me to smash things? Not satisfied? Next time, I’ll help you smash them even more thoroughly.”
“You reminded me. I should tie you up.”
Sui Yuye saw him undo his tie and grab his hands to bind them. Sui Yuye tried to pull back, but Quan Wangcheng pinned down his leg.
Damn it! He couldn’t actually get tied up, could he?!
Sui Yuye struggled against the person on top of him, then suddenly remembered something. He stiffened for a moment, turned his head, and shouted:
“Shao Jinghe! Don’t look!”
“Don’t look—damn it! Where are you touching?!” The hand pressing against his thigh suddenly slid downward. Sui Yuye was pinned to the ground, forced into a humiliating position as his body was spread open. “Don’t look at me!”
“Damn it, if you’re not going to help, then get lost!!”
Just as his wrists were about to be bound by the tie, another hand suddenly reached over and stopped Quan Wangcheng. Sui Yuye felt the weight on him lighten, and a familiar scent of perfume drew close to his nose.
Shao Jinghe’s perfume was elegant, completely unlike his personality.
Quan Wangcheng spat out the blood at the corner of his mouth—his face had just been punched by Shao Jinghe.
“Don’t think that just because your father is behind you, you can do whatever you want,” Shao Jinghe said, suppressing the anger filling his chest, his voice low. “How you want to play is your business, but he is off-limits. Don’t even think about targeting him.”
Quan Wangcheng slowly got up, glancing at the person Shao Jinghe was shielding in his arms.
He suddenly thought, if he were the one holding him, it might be quite interesting too?
Inside the bedroom.
Sui Yuye was carried to the edge of the bed and sat down. Shao Jinghe crouched to examine the injury on his ankle, his peripheral gaze catching the rose-colored ankle bracelet on his other foot. He stared at it for a long moment.
“So you can actually come in here?” Sui Yuye looked down at him. “Can you take me out now?”
“…It’ll take some time. His identity is tricky, but he mainly relies on his father’s power. I’ve already warned Old Quan not to touch my people, unless Quan Wangcheng wants to go against his father.”
Sui Yuye leaned his hands on the edge of the bed, inwardly cursing Quan Wangcheng a thousand times over.
Just wait. If he didn’t pay him back, he wouldn’t be surnamed Sui.
“Give me your hand,” Shao Jinghe suddenly said.
“What for?”
Sui Yuye looked up in confusion, seeing Shao Jinghe take out a box and open it. Inside was an exquisitely crafted, luxurious watch—just the strap alone looked incredibly expensive.
Sui Yuye’s lips twitched, his expression darkening. “What are you trying to say this time? Trying to make me see my own worth again?”
“A custom Tudor, priceless,” Shao Jinghe said. “There’s only one like it in the world.”
Sui Yuye paused, staring at him in disbelief. “Shao Jinghe, what’s wrong with you?”
Shao Jinghe: ?
A vein throbbed at Shao Jinghe’s temple, and he reached out impatiently to grab Sui Yuye’s wrist.
Sui Yuye pulled his wrist back. “I don’t want it.”
“Why?” Shao Jinghe leaned in, his tall frame looming over Sui Yuye, his displeasure clear on his face. “You can accept gifts from others, but not from me?”
Sui Yuye fell silent.
Could he have refused that ankle bracelet? It was forced onto him and couldn’t even be removed!
He couldn’t be bothered to argue with Shao Jinghe and turned his head away. “I don’t want it, anyway. Keep it for yourself, give it to one of your women or Cub.”
