Sui Yuye took advantage of a bathroom break to slip into the elevator. He wasn’t in the mood to stay here any longer and planned to leave, but…

“I’m sorry, Mr. Sui, but you cannot leave Venus at the moment,” a woman stopped him.

Sui Yuye couldn’t help but laugh, even though he was furious.Full novel: After Redeeming the Madmen, I Became Prey — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Fine, just fucking fine. So they’re trying to restrict his freedom this quickly?

Sui Yuye turned back, deciding to climb out through a window, but he stopped in the hallway. His pupils trembled uncontrollably, forcing him to lean against the wall to steady himself. Yet, it wasn’t long before he couldn’t hold on any longer, his body sliding downward.

Gasping for breath, he slumped to the floor in a disheveled heap.

It was happening again.

The Rom trait and Cub trait within him were clashing once more.

The downside of being a Switch was precisely this dual-attribute nature—dominance and submission were inherently contradictory, with both sets of genes vying to become the primary trait.

He couldn’t call for an attendant, as they would only send him back to the open terrace, and he had no desire to return.

“Do you need help?”

A slightly magnetic voice rang out, causing Sui Yuye’s body to tremble. The familiar words and tone made his blood run cold.

He stiffly raised his head. His vision was already blurry, but he could make out a tall, slender silhouette wearing a black coat. It wasn’t Quan Wangcheng.

Anyone who could enter Venus was no ordinary person. What if this man offering assistance had ill intentions?

“If you don’t need help, then forget it.”

The man turned to leave, but his coat was tugged.

Sui Yuye grabbed the hem of his coat, his fingers trembling. He watched as the man turned back and crouched down in front of him.

The man reached out and cupped his cheek, forcing him to look up.

His flushed cheeks, rapid breathing, and trembling posture made him appear fragile and pitiful, yet it all felt like an act. The look in his eyes seemed to say he didn’t need help at all—he refused to be controlled.

But Sui Yuye gently nuzzled his cheek against the man’s palm.

He lifted his unfocused gaze to the man and asked hoarsely, “…Can you help me?”

He hoped this man was a Cub.

The man slowly stood up. Sui Yuye’s heart tightened, thinking he was about to leave, and his grip on the coat tightened slightly. But the man leaned down slightly and extended a hand toward him:

“Hand.”

Sui Yuye’s heart sank.

He placed his trembling hand into the man’s waiting palm. The satisfaction that came from obeying the command allowed him to relax.

He was pulled to his feet, and his vision gradually cleared. Sui Yuye finally got a clear look at the man’s face and was momentarily speechless.

How to describe his appearance? It was the kind of face that would make a novelist go out of their way to lavish praise with extravagant words. His brows were gently arched, his eyes deep-set with light-colored eyebrows, and his skin somewhat pale. Whether in a gloomy or bright style, he could effortlessly pull it off.

And he seemed familiar somehow?

“What’s wrong with your leg?” the man noticed his unsteady steps.

“Nothing, just a fall,” Sui Yuye clicked his tongue inwardly. He thought he’d acted naturally enough—how perceptive did one have to be to notice?

Suddenly, he was lifted into the air, cradled in the man’s arms.

Sui Yuye’s brain short-circuited. What kind of cheesy K-drama scene was this?

“No, you’ve misunderstood, I can walk on my own—”

“Put him down!”

Sui Yuye froze mid-struggle and turned to look.

“Setting traps everywhere, daring to touch our people, with so many crooked ideas why don’t you choke on them? I warn you not to lay a finger on him, otherwise don’t think you’ll return safely.” Fu Zhong strode over, his expression hostile just like Fu E’s.

“And what if I do?” The man tilted his head.

Fu E: “You…!”

“Even if we’re not in White City right now, your Fu Family can’t do anything to us, can you?”

This came from another voice. Another man approached from the opposite side. Sui Yuye looked over, thinking his eyes were playing tricks on him, then turned back to the man holding him in astonishment:

“You’re twins?”

Jiang Guixi: “Yes.”

Jiang Guiting walked over, also wearing a black coat. He withdrew his gaze from sizing up Sui Yuye. “Can’t you see he’s not in good condition? You really only care about yourselves, not even noticing this.”

Fu Zhong and Fu E were taken aback and immediately looked at the person being held.

“…Are you feeling unwell? Let us take you to the hospital,” Fu E said.

“No need.” Sui Yuye didn’t look at them, lowering his eyes as he spoke to Jiang Guixi. “What you said earlier still stands, right? Sorry to trouble you.”

Perhaps he could use these two men’s help to leave Venus.

Fu E and Fu Zhong didn’t understand what he meant, but seeing Jiang Guixi turn to leave with him in his arms, they stepped forward to block them. “Where are you taking him?”

“Don’t overthink it, I’m fine. I’ll come find you later,” Sui Yuye added:

“Don’t follow.”

The moment they heard they weren’t allowed to follow, they seemed struck, their expressions immediately falling. Sui Yuye felt a pang of guilt but said nothing more.

He needed to leave Venus quickly. Fu E and Fu Zhong would definitely go up to notify the others, who would likely come down to look for him. If he were found, he’d never be able to leave Fan City.

“I’m getting a bit tired,” Jiang Guixi suddenly said.

“You can put me down now. I could have walked on my own,” Sui Yuye said. Jiang Guixi stopped walking.

Jiang Guiting, walking ahead, also halted.

As if sharing a telepathic connection, Sui Yuye felt himself lifted into the air again, swinging forward like on a swing. He was tossed into Jiang Guiting’s arms, caught by sturdy arms.

Sui Yuye had never seen anyone do something like this and looked somewhat stunned. Jiang Guixi had thrown him like an object, directly to his twin brother.

Sui Yuye’s mouth twitched. “What are you two doing?”

Were they treating him like a sandbag to toss around for fun?

“Haha, sorry,” Jiang Guiting said, looking down at his expression and chuckling softly.

Jiang Guixi, walking beside them, also gave him an apologetic smile.

Sui Yuye’s eyes flickered. He noticed that when these two smiled, it gave off an indescribable feeling—not very sunny, nor particularly cheerful, but more like a veneer of calm that could devour someone’s heart in the next second.

Shifting his gaze, he caught sight of something hanging from both their ears. “What’s that on your ears? Doesn’t look like Bluetooth earbuds.”

Jiang Guixi: “Hearing aids.”

Sui Yuye was taken aback. Deaf at such a young age?

“Born with it?” he asked.

Jiang Guiting shook his head, not explaining the reason. It would be impolite to press further, so after a moment’s thought, Sui Yuye made a hand gesture toward him.

Jiang Guiting was surprised. “You know sign language too?”

“Not very well. I learned it last year while doing volunteer work, from a child who couldn’t hear.”

Jiang Guiting stared at him for a few seconds. “Do you know what it means?”

“What?”

“I love you.”

Sui Yuye’s expression shifted from shock to embarrassment, changing repeatedly, but the two of them didn’t feel awkward at all—they thoroughly enjoyed his reaction.

Carried into a lounge, Sui Yuye sat down, feeling almost recovered. He noticed the two of them staring at his clothes. “What’s wrong?”

Jiang Guixi: “Aren’t you cold wearing so little? Winter is almost here.”

Sui Yuye tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Of course I’m cold, but I don’t have a choice.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a weight settled on his shoulders—a warm coat draped over him. After a moment, he looked at the two of them and asked, “Your surname is Jiang, right?”
