Three tall and burly kidnappers suddenly barged in, and Sui Yuye instantly went on high alert.

Wait, why didn’t his precognitive ability trigger? Could they really be here for him?

He turned and glared at Jiao Shu: “Did you put a curse on your mouth?!”Full novel: After Redeeming the Madmen, I Became Prey — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

As soon as he finished speaking, a vision flashed through his mind. Sui Yuye spun around and dashed toward Jiao Shu, grabbing a chair and swinging it at the head of the kidnapper approaching her.

Jiao Shu screamed in fright. Sui Yuye shielded her behind him, executing a shoulder throw followed by a knee strike, using the momentum to kick another charging kidnapper before slamming his elbow hard into the man’s spine.

Sui Yuye kneed the leader in the abdomen and seized the chance to push Jiao Shu toward the door: “Run!”

“But what about you?!”

“I’ll be fine! Go!”

He shoved her out and slammed the door shut behind him. Jiao Shu frantically pulled out her phone to call the police and ran into the street to find help.

Inside the office, the initial commotion gradually faded into silence.

The place was a mess, with all three intruders lying on the floor.

“What lousy kidnappers…” Sui Yuye clicked his tongue as he walked toward the door. His hand had just touched the doorknob when a sharp pain shot through the back of his neck, as if something had pricked him.

He reached for the spot and felt an object with his fingers.

It was a syringe.

Sui Yuye’s vision suddenly went dark.

Jiao Shu saw the door open and watched helplessly as Sui Yuye, unconscious, was dragged into a car. Her fingers trembled as she clutched her phone:

“Something’s wrong… Yuye… Yuye’s been taken…”

As consciousness returned, Sui Yuye frowned and opened his eyes, his first sensation being how soft the bed was.

He sat up abruptly. He was lying on a large bed, unbound, alone in a beautifully decorated, luxurious bedroom. The door wasn’t even locked.

Sui Yuye’s mind struggled to process the situation.

Had he been rescued?

…What kind of kidnapper takes someone home? Shouldn’t they be in a dark, damp warehouse, threatening to kill him unless a ransom is paid?

Sui Yuye got out of bed and pulled back the curtains, his lips twitching: “Where is this?”

The view outside the window was like something out of a comic—clear blue skies, an ornate fountain, and a meticulously maintained garden, all standard features of a mansion. He shifted his gaze and noticed something.

A photo frame.

Sui Yuye stared at it for two seconds, his eyes widening in shock.

Wasn’t that a photo of him as a child?

He walked over and picked up the frame. It showed two people: a young him standing behind, holding a child even smaller than him in his arms.

The child wore a doll-like dress and looked timidly at the camera, breathtakingly beautiful. Even with short hair, their delicate features and cuteness were undeniable.

Sui Yuye hurriedly pulled open a drawer. Inside were many photos, all of him and this child. Flipping to the very bottom, he found a picture of his younger self puckering his lips to kiss the other child’s forehead.

“Holy shit! It’s him?!”

Sui Yuye felt as if he’d been struck by lightning.

This was bad.

“This is bad, really bad. This is a huge misunderstanding,” he muttered.

Why hadn’t he recognized him yesterday?

Cold sweat instantly broke out on Sui Yuye’s forehead as he recalled the foolish things he’d done as a child—not only praising the other for looking good in a dress but also asking if he could be his wife when they grew up.

…Was he going to be killed today?

Click—

The sound of a door opening came from outside. Sui Yuye’s hand trembled, and the photos scattered across the floor.

Panicked, he glanced around, and in a moment of desperation, crawled under the bed.

The space beneath the bed was spacious, not even cramped when lying on his side. Just as he held his breath, Sui Yuye suddenly realized something.

Damn it, why did he hide under the bed?! Like some kind of pervert.

But it was too late to change hiding spots now. The sound of footsteps echoed step by step on the floor. From the gap under the bed, Sui Yuye caught sight of a pair of pitch-black, polished leather shoes.

The shoes scraped against the floor, the trouser legs of the suit pants straight and slender. As the shoe tips turned toward the bedroom, every cell in Sui Yuye’s body screamed in alarm.

The leather shoes stopped right in front of him.

Sui Yuye didn’t dare move a muscle.

The shoe tips pivoted and headed in the direction above his head.

Sui Yuye looked up just as the owner of the shoes crouched down. A hand clad in a black glove suddenly came into view, picking up the photos one by one.

That alone wouldn’t have been a problem—the real issue was that one photo, of all things, had slipped right under the bed. In it, his younger self was grinning like an idiot, planting a kiss on the forehead of that pretty child.

Shit!!

Sui Yuye stared at that annoying photo, itching with frustration.

Just as he was about to inch backward quietly, the gloved hand reached under the bed and took the photo away.

Perhaps he hadn’t been discovered, because after collecting the photos, the person left.

Sui Yuye waited a little longer, making sure there was no sound before crawling out from under the bed. Before he could even stand up straight, another door opened outside.

He quickly pulled open the wardrobe and hid inside.

“Mian Guanfei! Where have you taken him!? Do you know the calls have been coming to me?!”

Sui Yuye’s nose brushed against soft fabric as a piece of clothing fell onto him. Feeling it with his hand, it seemed to be made of lace, complete with frills and embroidery.

Sui Yuye blinked in the darkness.

Is this… a dress?

“I’m looking for him right now,” Mian Guanfei said expressionlessly.

His footsteps were leisurely, as if he wasn’t in a hurry at all.

Mian Changjie didn’t believe him. “Of all people, why did you have to take someone he cares about? Do you know how terrifying it is for him to contact me on his own?!”

“Where could he be…” Mian Guanfei emerged from another bedroom.

“Our Crown Family isn’t afraid of him, but you should think about whether this person is worth what you’re doing. He’s demanding you return him unharmed by today.”

Mian Guanfei stood in the living room, his gaze sweeping casually around.

Mian Changjie pressed, “Are you even listening to me?”

“Ever since earlier, there’s been a constant tapping sound. Is it an invitation for me to come over?” Mian Guanfei turned and walked in a certain direction.

Sui Yuye: ??

He hadn’t made a single sound!

Footsteps drew closer, accompanied by a cheerful voice, stopping right in front of him—less than half a step away from Sui Yuye.

The wardrobe door was pulled open.

Light flooded in. Mian Guanfei rested his hand on the door, looking down at the person trapped among all sorts of beautiful dresses, curled up in a pitiful and helpless manner. A long dress draped over him, making it look as though he were wearing it—a sight impossible to look away from.

“Found you.”

A low voice sounded by his ear, sending a chill down Sui Yuye’s spine.

The corner of Mian Guanfei’s mouth lifted into a smile, one that was utterly chilling.

“Why did you open that wardrobe again? Didn’t you hate wearing dresses as a kid? Why buy so many of them?” Mian Changjie asked from the living room.

“There’s always someone who can wear them,” Mian Guanfei said lightly.

“You didn’t even measure Cub. What if the sizes don’t fit?”

“They will,” Mian Guanfei replied, his gaze sweeping over Sui Yuye, half-hidden by the dress. “Looks just right.”
